Love it, great brush and builds up brilliantly and separates each lash. Wish I’d tried this sooner. Bought a few different brands recently which I’ve not been happy with but now I’ve got this one, I wont be going back
I have used this Rimmel mascara for years and cannot fault it, if you sleep in it .it will smudge but other than that it does what it says
great mascara! cheap and such a volume!!! my eyes are sensible, but with this product- no eye rush after it. plus it doesn’t fall of and stay all day
I’ve always used this mascara and i have tried others in between when people have bought them as gifts but no others compare! yes it seems a little thick to start with so you scrape the excess off but make sure you do scrape it off and the mascara goes on perfect!

I have bought products that I now believe to have been fakes ( yes even 6 ) mascara in the past but this one excellent !

Positives – The mascara goes on nicely, lengthens my lashes and gives volume. It lasts all day and doesn’t run or smudge.
Negatives – The mascara packaging looks and feels cheap. Not what I’d expect from Max Factor. The plastic is matt black and doesn’t feel like it’s a well made, luxury item. The brand sticker looks cheap and looks like it’s not authentic
Summary – I’m not convinced this is truly Max Factor because it looks and feels so cheap but if this item is a copy, it works really well. For less than a fiver it’s worth the money
This certainly doesn’t clump and goes on evenly but I wouldn’t buy it again unless they do something about the packaging. There was an outer layer of packaging (plastic) which I suppose reassures people that it’s unopened but really – in this day and age surely manufacturers can come up with something more planet-friendly? And then there’s another plastic layer, which is meant to be left on, which is palm-tree patterned plastic – I suppose meant for attractiveness. It would be fine if it were paper or card or something harmless but…..another layer of plastic? Manufacturers – get with it, consider the planet, be a bit 21st century!
I bought it and was very eager to try it. The tube is thick but the brush is a dense comb. It isn’t a huge brush but it is fairly substantial with short comb-like bristles. The formula is not watery or messy. I didn’t apply primer the first time I tried it because I wanted to see how the mascara performed alone.
The first coat was decent, nothing special. Three coats in, I did have longer looking eyelashes. They were darker and a bit thicker. I didn’t get a lot of volume with the mascara which is often the case with me. I have straight, medium length lashes that are thin and need to be plumped up. This mascara did give me enough volume so that my lashes didn’t look like spidery sticks. However, I did not look like I had false lashes on nor did I find the mascara to be that much better than a couple of cheaper mascaras
This mascara doesn’t flake throughout the day and it holds up well. If it gave me a bit more volume, I would really like this. It is clump free even with numerous coats which is a real plus.
The mascara washes off with my facial cleanser or eye makeup remover and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. I do think it is a BIT pricey for the results but I have enjoyed the overall effect and immediate longer lash look.
In all, I am going with 4 stars. I wasn’t blown away but it takes a LOT to blow me away and only a couple of mascaras ever have (but clearly not enough for me to stop looking for even better results). For the price point, this mascara delivers well although I think it’s a tad pricey compared to other drugstore mascaras that work well like Covergirl’s LashExact which is around $7.00 and gives comparative results. I would go with 3.5 stars but can’t so I went to 4. If you are looking for a mascara that lengthens, darkens, and adds some volume and that isn’t clumpy, this is a good choice. It may be a GREAT choice for those who don’t demand so much from a mascara like I do.
My whole life I’ve avoided mascara – hated the artificial spidery eyes look. The one mascara I bought left me looking like a panda and reinforced my belief that mascaras are awful things. It was so difficult to apply, and constantly smudged all over my eyes, and left clumps on the lashes.
Then I thought I’d give this a go. In a word, great. The plastic wand/bristles is much easier to use than natural bristles and makes much less mess. The lashes definitely seem longer and fuller. Its much easier to apply. But I would say if you have naturally long lashes like mine, then 3 coats is really overdoing it. I tend to stick with 1-2 coats to avoid the fake look.
I’ve taken a star off just because its not waterproof, wh/ means for someone like me, who yawns like crazy and gets watery eyes 10x a day, it can be a disaster. Use with care. 😀
Although not described as such, this mascara seems pretty smudgeproof, it lasts all day and saw me through an eye watering visit to the dentist without me ending up with panda eyes, unlike previous mascaras. It doesn’t flake either. For evening I was able to put another layer on to enhance the effect without it clumping.
Comes off with ordinary cleanser and very little residue on either cotton wool or lashes.
On the minus side, I don’t much like the packaging – its almost 6 inches long and an inch thick and therefore can’t be easily slipped into an evening handbag. The case is so chunky that I’d apply it at home, but not take it out with me. The rubberised applicator was a bit offputting too when you’re used to a brush, but it does work and allows you to get close in to the roots of your lashes so this can’t be considered a serious drawback.
Not budget in my opinion, but overall worth the money.
