So much better than the original dock! It connects to the surface pro and stays connected! I’ve been the only one to use it so can’t connect how well it works switching between other Pros – but I love it!

It does everything I want and has all the ports needed save one. It would be nice to have an HDMI port to directly connect a basic monitor rather than having to buy a mini port adapter.

For now I could only use it with my old surface, easy to connect to larger screens and use different accessories. was little overpriced but was the fastest to arrive.

If you have a Surface Pro 3/4/5 then this is the dock for you.

It’s a bit overpriced but it has been engineered well.

The only annoyance would be the fact you have the dock and a power brick to deal with.

Had an initial issue with driving a monitor through a cable with mini-displayport one end (in this dock) and HDMI the other – caused an intermittent connection/disconnection problem. However with a straight through mini-displayport to displayport works fine.

Expensive but very well made and robust device. Was able to upgrade the firmware on-line – would have liked more pro-active support in connecting my new LG UHD Monitor via the Dock as I have had to order a new HDMI 2.0 to Mini-port Converter Cable (Active) to support resolutions over 1080.

Works perfectly and very convenient. I use my surface pro for work, and spend my time split between working from home and travelling – making this an ideal device – simply connect the magnetic docking connector and hey presto, you immediately have a full working station. Held off for a year on this as reviews didn’t look promising, and it is quite pricey – not had a single problem with it. I’ve seen reviews of the ethernet connection causing problems (I use Wi-Fi though) – and other negative comments about the screen resolution – personally not noticed any issues (I use it for work though, not watching films or gaming)

Works well now but should be delivered with an important note to update dock firmware before trying to make a monitor work. Older generation monitor works well now but it was a scary moment when laptop and monitor went blank. Luckily monitor worked when monitor was plugged into laptop instead of docking station.

This is brilliant. Best docking station for the surface. Provides everything you need including double monitor support as well as power. You don’t lose the USB port in the surface either. Downside is the weight of the power adapter and the docking unit. Feels like the machined each from a block of solid aluminium.

Alright but fairly often doesn’t pick up a second monitor attached to the dock until I reboot. Have the same problem in work- where as a standard usb dock doesn’t have this issue.

Shame there’s no usb c connectivity on it, it’s heavy but overall happy with the dock.

Have used it with a surface book 2 and surface pro 4.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWorks fine, provides power and extra ports but only lets you drive two screens. I tried connecting two via the mini-DP ports and a third via the surface book’s USB-C port but this didn’t work. I happened to bring home a Dell 6000 docking station from work and thought I would give it a try, plugging it in to the Surface book’s USB-C port. Sure enough it provided power and allowed me to drive three 27″ monitors. If I had known that from the start I wouldn’t have bought this, I’d have bought the Dell one.

This is a must if you have a Surface Pro or Surface book. I connected 2 extra mini display ports to some serious monitors and a network cable to the dock and when I connect my surface book up to the hub I am ready to get on with some serious development. The extra usb ports are a bonus too. I bought another to take to any customers site I need to as a contractor.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI had expected a much larger kit but in fact it is solid, weighty but relatively small dock. The fact that everything links to the Surface via the one connector allows it to retain its clean and simple appearance. The Surface did all the work once connected with the Ethernet working almost instantly along with two external drives. It transferred files between drives overnight and there is no additional heat from the dock. Five stars now I have accepted the price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought 2 of these.
I just needed basic options – USB and a Monitor port.

    1st system
Connected dock HDMI Mini to Dell Monitor – No problem

    2nd System
Connected dock HDMI to Samsung (new 2017 250 Monitor) It filled the screen with red lines.
So – I used a standard HDMI cable with a converter from HDMI to Mini and no problem. Dont ask – it works.

It’s a good, stable docking station, however, they should have left at least one HDMI port on it. You will therefore need adapters (Display to HDMI/VGA) to project to any standard monitor.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was a bit uncertain of what would be in the box as none of the reviews made this clear. The unit comes complete with its on power supply, so if using at work, you can leave your original power supply at home. The unit plugs into the surface pro where the original power supply fits and the this lead has extra functions over the standard lead as all of the functions of USB ports, network cabling and display ports come through the lead. The USB port on the surface pro is therefore free although with 4 ports on the dock you should not need it. The display port is also free, so potentially you could run three screens, but I have not tried this myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but does the job, no surprises.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have had no trouble using a passive mini DP to HDMI or mini DP to DVI adaptor. Being able to use two full-size monitors is very useful.
It woud be good if the Surface did not have to drop WiFi when it is connected to the dock but I guess this is a Surface issue. It would be very useful if the dock provided an audio input as well as an audio out. It is something I miss on the surface.
On the downside it is rather expensive foro what it is

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent piece of Kit looks good quite weighty so doesn’t slip off end of the desk lik cheaply made pieces of kit and allows multi screen yes multi screen.

Yes for those thinking errrrr should I it’s quite expensive don’t I thought exactly the same then looked for cheaper options don’t get it you won’t regret it.

Its heavy, its chunky, but its a great docking station! – the addition of the 2 graphics parts as well as the multiple usb make it a great expansion and now this is the perfect replacement for my desk top.
Whilst it is expensive, the build quality is great, and it works very well unlike some other 3rd party expansion ports I have used with Surfaces before.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat product but my only issue I have is it’s quite a chucky unit and then they provide a separate power pack which is just as big, bigger than the one supplied with the Surface. For this (and the high cost) they lose a star.

I’ve owned both docking stations now (the old stand up one and this one) and I must say that I prefer this new one. The issue with the old stand up station was that my SP3 would overhead in it quite regularly because too much of the metal surface that radiated heat was covered. No such issue with this one and it is now infinitely more portable so I can take it with me. The two monitor outputs are awesome too because i now have three monitors to look at when using my SP3 on my desktop.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with the dock.

Good bit of kit, but two downsides I have found.

    1) The cable to the Surface is fairy short (approx 50cm), so not great if you want you Surface on a shelf or under a desk.
    2) Not enough power to the USB ports – I couldn’t use my R2D2 USB powered desk vacuum cleaner. Lower power USB peripherals are OK.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the dog’s!

I have fully updated Surface Pro 3. I took this out of the box this morning, whacked in 2 mdp to HDMI monitor cables (5 from Amazon) and Ethernet cable and 2 USB chargers and plugged it in to the PC. I honestly expected some kind of issue, but as per everything with my Surface so far – no issues, no drama. Everything just works. It even kept the display layout I was using from a single mdp cable and wireless display adaptor!

    Impressed – highly recommended.

This is actually quite brilliant though design wise almost too functional looking. It gives power, 4 USB 3.0 ports 2 extra display ports, a gigabit Ethernet port and media jack for the surface pro 4 (and 3). It’s very solid, has a rubber underside to prevent slipping and a single magnetic lead to attach to the surface pro. It makes it a good alternative to a desktop. Only comment is like most of the surface accessories it’s a bit pricey so look for online offers.

ice solid construction but struggles to charge anything more than a standard phone without cause a power surge message on your surface, but the 2 tv outputs work a treat and loads of usb ports for keyboards, printer, etc …

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersMains adaptor is as big as the dock itself ! But not a problem as it’s out of sight.

The Dock works fine for providing USB3 ports and gigabit ethernet.

The dock’s DisplayPorts will NOT work with cheap “passive” DVI/VGA/HDMI adaptors,
despite the fact that they do work via the Surface’s built in DP port

Buying a 20 “Plugable Active Mini DisplayPort to HDMI” (B00S0BWR2K) fixes the issue.

It does exactly what it is supposed to with no issues whatever. A lovely magnetic connector to easily pop in and I have everything connected at my office desk. The surface pro 4 has all the power I need for work on a dual 27″ monitor arrangement and a quick flip of the connector and I’m on my way with a fully charged laptop/tablet to work at home or remotely.
