I bought this album fairly recently. You may assume that Taylor Swift was perhaps just another vanilla, bubble-gum pop artist whose artistic output was probably muted by a record label or an entourage of brand/ image consultants. What is apparent is that this album is written by someone who is in charge and a genuine talent and who writes with sincerity. The album is brilliant and shows maturity, depth of thought and is representative of most thirty somethings who are absorbing and learning from life’s lessons and experiences. I would ask that you leave your preconceptions of the artist at the door and just enjoy.
What’s also great is I have had the back catalogue which I was relatively unfamiliar with, to also experience. It’s been a real Pharaoh’s tomb and shows retrospectively (to me as least) her song writing and singing journey. The albums illustrate her massive diversity, change in mood and pace; the sign of a good singer-songwriter. It’s been an epiphany. Midnights is one of her best. Buy without hesitation.

I didn’t buy all 4 of the vinyl versions, just this one. The double sleeve and booklet insert are beautifully put together and presented and definitely enhance the musical content. 100% brilliantly conceived.

I love this album so much and I’m so proud of taylor and how far she’s come! As for the actual CD, it was amazing! The design is so thought-out and beautiful, even the video can’t capture all the amazing details! The CD is beautiful and came with no scratches. As for audio quality, it’s amazing and personally I find it so much better han simply streaming it from your phone! The booklet is so cute too!! I love this edition and hoping to collect them all 🙂

On first listening I was not impressed at all ! So disappointed Anyway got the sleeve notes and lyrics and read them so I gave it another listen and and another, now it’s replaced Evermore as my favourite album Absolutely love it.

After the last two “lock-down” albums, (which I consider her very best ever), I was slightly concerned that this offering would be a disappointment in comparison. Not so. Lyrically, T.S has moved into the stratosphere with “Midnights”, and if the melodies aren’t quite as immediate, so what? This is a grower.
An album of great maturity and beauty, not quite as perfect as the lock-down duo, but with some lovely arrangements. Buy it.

This is her best album without a doubt.With the exception of one song that I’m not mad about all are very good.All tracks on my vinyl copy played perfectly until the very last on the second side which has background rumbling and slight distortion. A clean on my rcm made no difference so I have ordered a replacement. This would definitely be a five star review if this fault was not there. If the replacement is good it will be upgraded. This is the second recent vinyl album that has been delivered purely inside a large envelope which gives no protection and renders them liable to damage whilst in transit. No other record retailer would send out records without protective packaging.
Update
Replacement received but the background rumbling is still there and now on several tracks and even between then. I decided to replace it again but this time with the Moonlight edition. Much much better.

13 amazing tracks. Once again Taylor shows why she is one of the top female artists in the world. Folklore and Evermore were 2 of my absolute favourite albums from last year, think midnights is going to take top spot again.
Another album that may not appeal to fans who only like her earlier real country material, but I love it.
Some of the tracks contain the f*** word so may not be suitable for younger fans, but her other albums also have this content.

High quality sleeve notes with some great colour photos, she is a very beautiful lady.
