Don't forget to ground your connectio
Very easy to install but instructions are not clear nor is the suggested video about the ground cable, they expect you to already know. If you don’t ground properly you won’t get power.

This kit came with a number of connections to connect straight into the main fuse box of the vehicle. The connections covered all the different types of fuses used by car manufactures. fitted easily
and no problems plenty of cable to route round as needed.

When it comes to buying a hardwire kit this has to be one of the best with a quality appearance and feel. So much better than the cheaper ones avaible and to be honest only 7 more my advice spend the extra
Easy to install
I’ve had a few of these items and I’d happily purchase again. Easy to install and much better than having wires hanging. I’ve bought these for my wife, parents and sister who all drive different makes/models of vehicle and each one was as easy to install as the last. I’m not a mechanic or have any experience working with vehicles but it never takes more than an hour to do. I’ve had these wires installed in vehicles for years and they never have any issue.
easy install
ot done this before, but drilled a hole in side of dash near fusebox for wires, clipped existing wiper fuse on to the the supplied piggyback fuse , put screw on metal of bodywork for the earth wire, tucked cables behind dash trim and in under 10 minutes a working dashcam. really easy. very impressed how simple it was
Arrived faulty - No, it was fine. I had a bad earth
The wiring kit arrived faulty. I had a good switched 12v feed, tested it with my multimeter but as soon as I connected the 21v to 5v kit nothing happened. I knwo the camera is working as I’ve charged it in the house and also I know the supplied cig lighter adapter works. it’s just the hard wired kit that is faulty. Returned and bought another one. Fingers crossed.
EDIT: Ok it was my fault. Despite using an earth point that was giving me a good clean 12V and 14V with the engine running, it was clearly not a good earth. As soon as I used a different point the unit worked fine.
That’s all installed and working well. There’s plenty of length in the kit and I can’t fault it. Now I need to work out why my 14V good earth wasn’t a good enough earth.

I have just used this product to wire in my new dashcam and it was so easy to do it took less than 20 minutes and I’m not a vehicle electrician.
Do not pay Halfords 70 to hardwire your dashcam when it’s so easy to do it with this product.

if it was included in the next base pack instead of the plug in its like a tin of paint it will not belong you get the colour then you need the varnish then the paint brush etc

i fitted to a Ford Focus – took no more than 10 minutes, works perfectly. Note to look on you tube to identify what fuse you have to adapt, once this is identified it is a breeze.

It works
Bought a nextbase kit which did not work and ordered this kit as a replacement. One of the connectors came loose and I managed to reattach, so not the greatest quality, but it works.
Quality hardwire kit that I purchased for my Nextbase 522gw front and rear dash cam. More expensive than others and cannot really see any difference to my old hardwire kit other than the Nextbase name.
Plenty of length on wiring to suit any car/van/SUV. Came with three different sizes of piggy back fuse tails and appropriate fuse but unfortunately none of these fit my fusebox so had to purchase another fuse tail. For the price and taking into account that many modern cars today use the “Low Profile Mini” fuses I’d have thought Nextbase would have included one of these also. As there’s 4 different types of fuse it makes sense to cater for all four. Also the push connectors on the wiring a not very tight so I ended up crimping them to ensure they don’t come apart and covered them in heat shrink sleeping. If you’re ordering this, check your fuses to ensure you don’t require Low profile mini, if so you’ll need to purchase one! 4*.

Purchased this a a last ditch attempt to get my Series 1 322GW back and working again after replacing/upgrading its battery a few months back.
The camera started to periodically not power or charge the cable despite being wired to a permanent live.
I found that removing the negative for a few minutes would get to work again for a period of time.
Bought this and it worked perfectly straight after installation!
I can’t vouch for its smart functionality as I do not have a Series 2 camera but it works perfectly on my Series 1!

hen you will most likely need a 3 legged fuse adaptor (not the ones in this kit) to complete the install.
Item looks like it should do the job. I have no doubt it’s the right thing, and certainly seemed better built than the ‘copy’ version I had to buy instead.
Unfortunately this kit doesn’t have a micro blade fuse connector, so I had to return it ( or choose to pay more to buy the extra connector separately).
I ended up replacing it with a cheaper more flimsy copy, that I also returned due to wrong fuse ratings, and generally feeling unhappy with.
So, if you have standard sized or mini fuses holder this is a good product.
Nextbase do another version, available from a well known high street car superstore for a higher price, but I couldn’t find it on here.
