Love i
It’s quiet, fast boiling and glass. It doesn’t smell from the beginning, not like some other kettles that smell of plastic for ages. Worth the money, I got lucky to catch big Friday offer.
Great kettle, just need to descale it every couple of weeks in hard water areas. I use citric acid one teaspoon in boiled water till scale disappears. Bit louder than I would like but not a big deal. No plastic smell on water as it’s glass . Had another one of these lasted 5 years till I hit it with something and it cracked
I have been using the kettle for less than half a year. It works for now. The quality of workmanship and appearance are average. Not bad. It heats the water very quickly, which is a big advantage. This is my third kettle of this type and in terms of heating speed, it outclasses all the previous ones. Let’s see for how long?
Works well
Good value kettle. been using it for several months no and no complaints. Simple I know, but the green circle mark for one cup level is very easy to see and encourages you to not put more water in the kettle than actually needed.
I like this kettle. It’s well made, looks nice, quiet, easy to fill and fast to boil. My wife however, who has a bit of arthritis, says it’s a bit heavy. She has trouble lifting it. This is probably because our previous kettle was plastic and this one is glass. That’s something to keep in mind when ordering.
Overall fantastic product. Looks great, boils amazingly fast, easy to clean and so on.
Small flaw is that if you stop pouring a just-boiled kettle too suddenly the water can sometimes pool in the spout and drip down the kettle. Also the lid flies open really fast and can splash hot water on you if you go to empty the kettle down the sink once done.
Looks good
Love it you can do one cup in under 60 seconds and it a nice looking kettle can hold upto 1.7 litres electric cord around 18 inches long plenty if it’s on counter near socke
I’ve just purchased a replacement for my previous one that I bought around 15-20 years ago. My old one still worked, still looked pretty good, but the LED stopped working about 3 months ago and was looking a little worn inside.
When looking at a replacement I was going to get something a bit fancier, but what’s the chance that a new electronic thing will last more than 3-4 years?
I had no hesitation buying a new one!
I hope the new one lasts at least half as long!
(Now see if anyone in the house notices!!)
Had this kettle for a year and I use it multiple times a day and it is still looking great and going strong. I boil it with a little water and vinegar every couple of weeks and it cleans it like new. I bought this same kettle for a family member as a gift and they are also happy with i
Very fast efficient kettle
This is a good, fast heating kettle, and the light going off when it is finished boiling the water is useful for the hard of hearing. My only slight issue with it is the opening mechanism for the lid. Sometimes it doesn’t open first time, like there is a sweet spot to get it to open, but generally no problems and I am pleased with this buy.
So I’m one of those people who spends ages deciding on what I want to buy, doing all the research of reviews and I’m always happy with my choices and a will to go for the best, not the most expensive. I’ve only had this kettle for a week or so, but what I love is in the morning when I’m making a coffee I only have to put in a small amount of water, which is marked on the glass which I must say having the whole kettle glass and a blue led which lights up the whole kettle and goes of when boiled. I’ve read reviews of some saying that the light was blah blah blah, what do they expect layers from a 40 kettle. you’ll get used to the level of water as we all use different size cups and also good for when doing noodles, by the time you put your coffee or noodles in a bowl the kettles boiled. The only time so far that I’ve boiled a whole kettle was before my first use to sanitise it. As said I did my research and I’m happy to say I made a good choice, I’ve even researched toasters as the one I have is playing playing up, and yes after researching it was a Russel hobb one I went for. Hopefully I will update this review in 6 months if not for some reason before. So far I would 100% say this is the best kettle I’ve ever had.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice produc
I’ve only had this a few days but it appears to be good quality, works as expected, quiet and ideal for small and/or larger quantities of water. It looks very nice as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great kettle
Very fast boil, good for making just one cup so energy saving. Well made love the blue led lights
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value
Will hopefully last longer than a similar cheaper brand. Does everything it’s meant to and arrived quickly.
Kettle broke after 8 months
Not happy , I bought this kettle in October 2022 it broke in June 2023, the lid came off completely and not possible to fit it back on, it was only lightly used.
we love this kettle
we really like seeing the water boil and bubble …
it does however make it very obvious when you need to de-limescale your kettle :-/
Anyway – nice kettle … I’m glad I bought it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value for Money
Reasonably priced, well designed kettle with attractive blue lighting feature.
Works well.
Would give five stars except for the lid button is a bit sticky when pressing to open. Love the blue light! Using so much less water as I can see easily the amount I need.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excelle
Very easy to see water level. Quick to boil. Not too noisy. Love the blue illumination when it’s switched on. Very pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product and quick delivery
Arrived early which was a bonus and it’s a good produc
4.0 out of 5 stars Short cable
Good quick boiling kettle, but while you don’t want along cable, this one is too short. Another 6″ would improve things in my kitchen layou
4.0 out of 5 stars Its a kettle and it boils water.... 🙄
Works well at the function it was made to do. Don’t particularly like the push button lid as I can see that breaking before anything else.
I’ve had this kettle for a couple of weeks now. This is the 3rd glass kettle I’ve had, and by far the best. The ability to heat only one cupful of water is great — and takes only forty seconds. The button on the top of the handle to open the lid works beautifully, with a firm action. The kettle turns itself off as soon as you pick it up which is good. I wish it turned off more quickly once boiling, but its performance is standard. Sound is standard too. I really notice the advantage of 3kw rating rather than 2.7kw which was our previous kettle. I have only positive comments. It’s an excellent, well made design which is a delight to use.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great especially for a quick drink!
The one cup feature is outstanding and although some comments did mention the condensation in the kettle it seems to go away after many uses of the kettle. I’m very happy with the purchase and Mornings are great with it!
I don’t find the condensation a problem, and since I use distilled (not just filtered) water, the inside stays permanently mirror-like and scale free, so I’m pleased with the appearance – the water did seem to get a little cloudy on the very first use, but that’s resolved now and it stays crystal clear. (I’ve removed the scale filter since we don’t need it, although maybe that’s affecting the pouring and the auto-off?)
The “ring of blue lights” are a bit of a fake really – there are actually only two, either side of the handle, with a plastic diffuser to give the appearance of a ring of lights, so it’s not all that bright and certainly doesn’t light up the water spectacularly unless you’re in complete darkness. But it’s very effective in showing whether the kettle’s on or off, and much better than our old one with a difficult-to-see white light over the on-off switch.
I don’t find the kettle noticeably noisier than others I’ve used, and as it boils very quickly it’s not a problem to me.
The auto-off does take a little while to kick in, especially if you’re only boiling a single cup, but because it’s so quick you’d typically be alongside it anyway so can just flip it off manually or lift the kettle, saving a tiny bit more energy as well!
The biggest benefit is being able to see clearly exactly how much water is in the kettle , so you can boil only just enough for e.g. one mug or a small teapot and use the least amount of electricity possible (and of course avoids accidentally turning it when empty!) There is a marker for 1 cup, but it’s not particularly prominent, so we’ve drawn lines for 1 cup (c250ml), 2-cup teapot (c500ml) etc. in black magic marker – not pretty, but much easier to see! In fact it’s easiest to turn the kettle round so the marks are at the back, so you can see the water level against them though the glass as you fill the kettle (from our water distiller jug) through the open lid.
All in all I’m very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it, especially so if you use a water distiller for drinking water.
*UPDATE* Well after only 4 years (my previous Russell Hobbs kettle lasted 25 years!), as described by others the switch ‘broke’ – had to fiddle with it and try many times to get it to stay ‘on’, and it was getting rapidly worse. I was about to buy another, but first I unplugged it (IMPORTANT!) and squirted switch/contact cleaner into the switch from above and below, and then switched it on and off many times to clean the contacts. Left it 15 minutes to dry off, and then repeated the process. FIXED! It was simply corrosion/deposit on the contatcts. Of course, it then smelled of solvent, and I needed to boil and discard a couple of fills, but it now seems to be working perfectly again, so don’t give up on it unless the switch is obviously physically broken 🙂
So only dropped one star from 5 to 4.
(And btw contact cleaner is really useful stuff to have in your tool cupboard anyway – second only to gaffer tape in my personal list of repair essentials! – but buy a can that has a decent long thin tube to fit into the nozzle – useful for squirting it into awkward places.)
Original review:
Compared with my previous two kettles, this one is really is fast, quiet, and fun – I still get a kick out of watching it boil (I know… get a life!) but more important, I can hear myself think, and don’t have to pause whatever I’m listening to at the time any more.
The metal scale filter was an absolute must for me – means that what limescale does end up forming there can be dealt with without destroying the filter (previous kettle the maufacturers wanted nearly the cost of the kettle for a new plastic filter!!) To be honest, I thought I was accepting that a downside of glass would be having to descale the whole thing really often but (since I fill it from a filtered water tap) it’s furs up really slowly – again much slower than my previous two.
Mildly annoying things: 1) a white deposit (scale presumably) forms around the spout and front edge of the lid, but it scrapes off fairly easily; 2) if I pick it up at an odd angle (stupid!), steam sometimes squirts out from somewhere at the top and catches my wrist and makes me squeak. But at this price, those are minor and not enough to lose a star – it’s basically really good value and I REALLY hope it also proves to have a decent lifespan too (my other main criterion… but of course you can’t tell that until it dies!) – the plastic switch feels a little bit flimsy, but I’m therefore being careful with it, and it’s fine so far.
I’m sufficiently impressed to be buying a second one for my office.
