Nice solid tool with some heft to it. bought it as a means to do some quick edge planing in lieu of having to break out a hand router. Although the blades are really strong and sharp, I just can’t get it to do a clean enough job to replace a hand router. Would not buy this product again. FWIW, Just not what I had hoped it would be for my purposes…

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersIf there is room for a router and power is available etc I will use a router. This tool is great for tight places on installed material. Before you use it, remove the blade and spend a few minutes with a flat sharpening stone to put a decent edge on it – makes a big difference. While the blade is out, clean up the threads and put a drop of oil on them for smoother adjustments. Then take some fine sandpaper or emery cloth, wrap it on the corner of something square, and sand the paint off of the surfaces that will contact your work (it’s easier than sanding it off of your material – no plane surface that contacts your wood should be painted) If you do those three things before you use this tool I think you will like it a lot more, and it is well made, just not well finished.

In itself it is good and therefore 5 stars. I did find that some of the wood I was using had knots and bad grain and thus did not cut well. This would have happened with any chisel I guess.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWorks very well and as advertised. Blades were sharp enough to use out of the box. Packaging, on the other hand, was sub par. The plastic mold tray which is supposed to hold the blades while in the box was ineffective. When the package arrived, I lifted the box and felt the contents shift. As soon as I opened the box, all of the blades fell out. Aggravated me a bit.
