Innovative
I’ve not seen a set quite like this before. Rather than just having a picture where you have to spot items, these scenes are dark and you have cardboard “torches” which allows you to see the image but you can only search parts of it at a time. It’s a fun and engaging activity and I think it’s good for 4 year olds to help prep them for starting school and expanding their vocabulary. It’s educational but also fun.
Fun and educational, interesting concep
My 4yr old loves this set, it is simple to use and so much fun! Great way yo learn new words and practice useful skills too. The activity boards are well made, altjough the “flashlights” are simple carboard so can be damaged easily. We chose to laminate the ” flashlights” to make them sturdier and it seems to work fine. Really lovely set, would definitely recommend it.
Search & Find Flashlight Activity
The Search & Find Flashlight activity from Skillmatics is something we hadn’t come across before. It’s not only fun but also really educational, which makes it a perfect way to wind down before bed instead of reading. The set comes with six double-sided mats, two paper flashlights, two dry-erase markers, and a duster cloth. The idea is to find objects in the daytime scenes, and on the flip side, you use the paper torch to search for hidden things in the nighttime scenes. It’s kind of like a ‘Where’s Wally’ game, and you tick off the objects with the markers as you go. While you can definitely replay it, I think after a few rounds, younger kids might start to memorise where things are, so it might lose a bit of the challenge over time.

Got this for my 5-year-old birthday. He enjoys it so much that he goes and gets it himself and sits by it until he does all the pages. some of the time he can’t yet.
Amount of cost /good value
I purchased this Skillmatic book for my Great Grand-daughter. (4yrs) She is already using it and is really keen to learn her alphabet and numbers. It’s a great start for pre school children and I shall cerainly buy more for her.
Great activity.
My Grandchildren love this. I bought it first for my twin 3 yr olds and with help they were able to do the find and search. They also wanted to chat about the scenes. So it’s a very interactive activity.
I then bought a kit for my other Grandchildren who are 3 and 5 as they have been super helpful and good with the recent birth of their baby sister, so I decided to have a treat sent to them to enjoy and this was great.. they loved it and sent me a lovely thank you video.

My 3 year old enjoys finding the items on the sheets and loves the wipe away pen. However as a way to teach him names and spellings, I found there were too many American examples. Good quality.
Excellent for kids skills and focus
I bought this for a friend who has a 2 year old and the little monkey was able to spot the items to circle.
But the reason why I didn’t rate as a 5 star was because one of the pens was already dried out before the package was opened.
Love this..my 4 Yr old grandson really enjoys looking and finding the things on the list then ticking them off, his favourite is the camping scene but lots of subjects in there , space, under the sea, fairground etc.. with progressively more things to find. Really good product..

Used on roadtrip to France – no mess really, lots of scenes per pack, wipe clean so can be reused. Kept my boys aged 4 and almost 7 busy and quiet for a fair amount of time
Perfect for 2+
My son has just turned 2 and absolutely loves this!! It’s brilliant. He doesn’t draw neat circles yet, but can easily identify what I’m asking for and I plan to use it to develop with his age, by using it to describe things too. We use it everyday!
Very entertaining
My daughter is 3 and her cousin is 6 and both loved to play this while we waited for our food. I wish it was smaller though or you could fold them for easy transport but overall I’m very impressed.

This is a great product! It helps the kids learn to write and draw shapes. It has many different patterns for them to try. Best of all it keeps the kids busy and they love it!
