Good for older kids or adults
Good quality product for older kids or adults to fiddle with, however it’s definitely not up to the rigours of a 3 or 5 year olds games. It bends/gets out of shape quite easily.

It’s also slightly short to work on my in laws stairs but works well at my parents house.

4.0 out of 5 stars Little small
Little bit shorter than I remember I’d go for the larger one next time

4.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed hmmmm...
It was coiley, mesmerising, shiny, able to slink from high to low, hand to hand.
On stairs, not at all. Other high to low surfaces failed.

    One very happy grandso
After having a very sad little one tell me how his little brother had broken his brand new Slinky, what could a loving Oma do but go straight on to Amazon to buy a replacement? The little recipient is delighted with his new version and promises to keep it safe from his little brother. What more can I say?

Doesn't deter squirrels from bird climbing feeders
Perfectly good slinky. Packaged well and if you wanted it for anything else than my purpose you’d probably be fine. But as a squirrel deterrent, to hand on a bird feeder.. it’s a disaster. They now use it to climb up to get to the bird seed. Back to the drawing board.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMeasure your stairs before purchasing to avoid disappointme
Bought a plastic no brand rainbow coloured jumbo one for my 4 year old grandson which he loves so thought I’d buy an original slinky made from metal to entertain my grandson under supervision. I eagerly opened it and tried it on my stairs, in a way I was reliving my childhood because I’d always wanted a slinky but lived in a bungalow as a child which obviously didn’t have stairs) unfortunately my stairs are not suited to the size of this slinky. It will not slink down them however or wherever on the stairs I place it. A step on my stairs measures very approximately 9″(22cm?) deep by 6 1/2″(16cm?). Maybe the slinky would walk down a narrower step but it doesn’t like my ones at all.

    TODDLER proof
Hours of fun for my autistic 3 year old. Only downside doesnt react well to being wet. It has distorted the colour. However, works as should and a month later is still working perfectly, dispite being thrown, stretched and fought over everyday.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot played with the most at Christmas
Of all the gifts my kids got this year, this was the one they fought over and played with the most. Should have bought two. Important to tell the kids not to stretch it out too far though because it’s not hard to spring it (it is sturdy, but still…) and there’s little more irritating than a messed up brand new slinky. It’s exactly like the ones from when I was young, which I always wanted yet never got. Great for fidgeting and keeping kids occupied at Christmas.

    Who doesn't love a slinky
Who doesn’t love a slinky, unfortunately my children’s friends love it too much and we are now on our third as two have been wrecked by children using them as skipping ropes or standing on them. Works well on the stairs before being bent out of shape though!

    A Slinky
Well, what’s to say? It’s a slinky. The reason I bought one for myself was because I spend a lot of time at my computer programming/scripting so it’s nice to have something just to play around with while thinking. It’s a nice distraction too.
I did purposely try to find one that wasn’t the cheap plastic ones as I wanted one that probably wouldn’t break as easily, so I bought this one which is aluminium.
The one downside to it is that there is some “oil” between each coil. Although this doesn’t stain or anything, I thought it’s something that would’ve been removed from the manufacturing process. It could’ve just been mine. I’m sure a good soak in vinegar or some other cleaning fluid would remove it all anyway.

Best thing: It bounces down the stairs better than the plastic ones!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usershad one when he was a boy and he loved it and played with it ofte
I found it a bit difficult to get going but it does actually walk down the stairs. It is a present for my granddaughter. She has a plastic one which doesn’t work so I wanted to get her one that does. My son, her father, had one when he was a boy and he loved it and played with it often. Luckily the one I have bought does work so she should like it.

    The original slinky!!!
Old toys are often the best and this one is no exception, ran up and down the stairs for hours good fun and then we let the little one play with it. Toys at their best!!! A good buy.

Never too old for a slinky
This heavy weight slinky has brought back child hood memories. Endless fun playing with it and therapeutic. Can’t get it to slinky all the way from the top of the stairs to the bottom yet……..Practice makes perfect!

This is the genuine article - the proper Slinky that slinks down the stairs all of its own accord!
This is the original Slinky that works as it should, bought for a five year old grandson just after Christmas, to replace the one I bought for him at Christmas from a shop, which claimed to be able to loop itself down the stairs, but which disappointingly did nothing of the sort, just remained sulkily on one stair and, if nudged, simply collapsed and fell over. This Slinky by Flair is great fun for children and adults. It’s just like the slinkies we bought for our children when they were small. However, it can become unusable if stretched by an over-enthusiastic four-year-old boy who likes to pull things apart, so if you have a boy like that, keep it out of reach when not supervised!

A present for my grandsons Xmas. Have tried it out to see how it works on the stairs. After a couple of attempts I had it working 100% .He had a plastic one but was getting frustrated as it only went a few steps before stopping.
This one goes from top to bottom no problem
