The box is the size i was looking for to put my small tools and also my drill batteries and some electric cables and screws on top of the box , i do like the size because is what i need.

It’s somewhat flimsy, plastic hinges, flexi bottom and sides, I could imagine it splitting if droped. Fine for the price, but not a quality peice. Big enough to take a multitool and impact driver + additional tools.

Hi All, I needed a sturdy tool box, so decided to go for this one. I think things made of plastic have got a limited lifespan. This one seems well made, got very good steel catches. I do think the top carrier should have been the full length, as regards how long it will last, time will tell, Chris.

I’ve used a couple of these to make a stackable pair of battery boxes. Each one has 8x NP1212″ UPS batteries in it, all wired in parallel. so the batteries and wiring come to about 30kg. The handle on the top WILL hold that weight, but I’m not sure I 100% trust it not to fail at some point. the boxes have a small handle moulded into each end, so I tend to move the boxes by those. I’m pretty sure that you’d have to be going some to get 30kg of power tools into one of these. maybe if you filled one with sockets or spanners you could get close, but in normal use it wouldn’t be likely. so if it will take the overloading abuse I give them, they’ll probably be fit for anything more conventional that folks want to use them for.

I was looking to downsize from a big toolbox which was a bit cumbersome for basic diy. Basically somewhere to keep basic things like small spirit level, hammer, screwdrivers, pliers etc. I purchased two and am happy with them. They are this price as mostly plastic, yes the clasp is metal but the rest is plastic but that’s ok. For a basic toolbox this is a better size than I had. I’m not a heavy user so they won’t get beaten up and I’m confident it’s robust enough to last me years. Having looked at others this was the right compromise of quality size and cost for me. For a home and only occasional DIY person this works. Good enough that I bought two so have one for the other bits and bobs I use less often.

Perfect size to keep most items in that you may need around the house without having to go out to the shed to find stuff.

Metal clip is a big upgrade over my previous Stanley toolbox that had a plastic clip and snapped in half.

I purchased this to keep in the house so I could have a small selection of tools at home. The box is a great size and also has 2 compartments on the top where small items such as screws etc can be kept. The delivery was very quick and was well packaged.

Bought for a few garden hand tools for the garden that goer lost in a bigger tool box. Perfect. Fits essential tools along with gloves, knee pads and few other bits.
Only downside, it’s not waterproof. Rain gets in if left outside

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs per the headline, i.e. not that sturdy (and with a tray that I don’t really need/want as it restricts what will fit in the bottom of the toolbox) but probably OK for the money, provided you treat it reasonably carefully.

    Edited 7th July 2023:
As others have commented, the catches for the top part fall off quite easily, as did mine yesterday. However, I think I found an easy/quick “cure” for that problem (for each catch separately, obviously, and takes less than 5mins for each catch!) :
    – from the outside: drill a small hole (2-2.5mm drill) very slightly below the lower metal bar of the catch through to the inside of the box
    – from the inside: drive a 10-12mm self-tapping screw (round/dome head preferably) through that hole so that it prevents that metal bar from coming out of the slot in the plastic moulding.

Then the catches can’t detach from the lower section of the toolbox – problem solved!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have 6 of these now so they can’t be too bad right?
They’re fine, and they are very good for ten quid hence the x6.
Like any budget plastic box they rely on ribs, bends and indentations to provide structural strength and rigidity. Not much of a problem for a jumble of hand tools but I’ve been thwarted by some of these protrusions from fitting some power tools or boxes of bolts etc.
The 2 containers on the top I would trade for more internal space. They protrude inside and get in the way sometimes and as “useful” containers they’re not that good -I’ve found them too small for many things and the lids are a little flimsey and they are not accessible when the main lid is open.
The main catches are robust but don’t flip open as readilly as on some other toolboxes. When unlatched they also come off very easilly with a knock and are slightly fiddly to get back on.
So a few short comings but I’d still recommend as a cheap and cheerful box.
