Claw Hammer Design

There are two types of claw designs, a curved claw end which is perfect for removing and prying nails and the ripping claw, which is ideal for pulling up floorboards or ripping out unwanted studwork.

Overstrike Protection

Overstrike protection provides added protection and greater durability to key vulnerable areas of the shaft of the hammer which might get exposed whilst in use.

Weight

The weight of the hammer will affect the amount of force and striking power required to embed larger nails. A 20Oz hammer in comparison to a 16Oz would be better suited for driving larger fixings above 75 mm and vice versa a 16Oz hammer would be better suited for fixing smaller nails.

Bought for a few garden hand tools for the garden that goer lost in a bigger tool box. Perfect. Fits essential tools along with gloves, knee pads and few other bits.
Only downside, it’s not waterproof. Rain gets in if left outside

Overall a really good toolbox. I would say more for DIY or home use (which is why i bought it). I don’t think it would last long on a building site. But still a perfectly good box for the home and is more than sturdy enough. Nice little tool box to hold the basic tools needed around the house. Would recommend.

it’s exactly as expected. feels solid and sturdy. slightly smaller than the normal toolbox size i go for but i knew that when i purchased it. if you are looking for a box for day to day tools like screw drivers chisels and that sort of thing it is perfect. don’t expect to get larger tools comfortably in it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs per the headline, i.e. not that sturdy (and with a tray that I don’t really need/want as it restricts what will fit in the bottom of the toolbox) but probably OK for the money, provided you treat it reasonably carefully.

    Edited 7th July 2023:
As others have commented, the catches for the top part fall off quite easily, as did mine yesterday. However, I think I found an easy/quick “cure” for that problem (for each catch separately, obviously, and takes less than 5mins for each catch!) :
    – from the outside: drill a small hole (2-2.5mm drill) very slightly below the lower metal bar of the catch through to the inside of the box
    – from the inside: drive a 10-12mm self-tapping screw (round/dome head preferably) through that hole so that it prevents that metal bar from coming out of the slot in the plastic moulding.

Then the catches can’t detach from the lower section of the toolbox – problem solved!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have loads of tools which are typically strewn throughout the whole house, which can be a pain when I need to to a quick job. I bought this Stanley toolbox since it was a sensible size for keeping my essential tools in one place where I can access them easily.

While I doubt that this toolbox would survive the abuse that some of my bigger, heavier cases have taken over the years, it’s compact and sturdy enough to stash on a shelf or behind the sofa until needed, and I managed to fit in all of the stuff I needed (hammer, screwdrivers, adjustable spanner, tape measure, etc).

I haven’t found much use for the flaps in the lid yet, other that keeping some spare fuses, but they’re big enough to store a bunch of wall anchors, allen keys, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, compact toolbox for keeping your essential tools

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have 6 of these now so they can’t be too bad right?
They’re fine, and they are very good for ten quid hence the x6.
Like any budget plastic box they rely on ribs, bends and indentations to provide structural strength and rigidity. Not much of a problem for a jumble of hand tools but I’ve been thwarted by some of these protrusions from fitting some power tools or boxes of bolts etc.
The 2 containers on the top I would trade for more internal space. They protrude inside and get in the way sometimes and as “useful” containers they’re not that good -I’ve found them too small for many things and the lids are a little flimsey and they are not accessible when the main lid is open.
The main catches are robust but don’t flip open as readilly as on some other toolboxes. When unlatched they also come off very easilly with a knock and are slightly fiddly to get back on.
So a few short comings but I’d still recommend as a cheap and cheerful box.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersI needed a small tool box for the house, inside the house rather the garage where i have a tool chest or the loft where things seem to get hurled without much thought when they have to be tidied away.

I picked this based on the brand, the size and price point plus the good reviews and also, aesthetically its nice to have a splash of yellow or any other colour in a world of tool box black.

    The Good

    * 16 inches is bigger than i thought, this is a very good sized box, not just length but also height, its a deep fill box, plenty of room.

    * The unit bar the steel latch is entirely made from tough plastic, this is the norm at this price point for tool boxes, not many have any steel parts.

    * The latch works just great, the handle sits nice and flush into the top lid recess, the tray also fits flush inside the box. I have had boxes with trays before that no matter what you did would always be one gust of wind away from capsizing into the tool box tossing all your gear around. This isnt the case with this box.

    * The pair of top compartments have a nice clip open push shut action, nothing fancy but the additional apportioned space is welcome for holding screws, spare blades, bits etc.

    * You can cram a lot into this box, it really is cavernous, all the essentials will fit in there and youll have room to do some rummaging rather than systematically remove everything to find what you were looking for isnt even in the box but has been left in a drawer somewhere. You can actually see before you start rummaging what you may be searching for, this is an overlooked feature of tool boxes!

    * I have around 5kg worth of tools in the box, its purely for DIY and sits in the bottom of my wardrobe for now and then use, it doesnt feel strained or on the brink of collapse when i am carrying by the handle, i would imagine it can hold a fair amount more weight if required.

    The Could Be Better

    * If there was one point to make this tool box better it would be the hinges. There is nothing wrong with the hinges, but they are also plastic. However, they dont appear to be flimsy or precariously fastened together, the same thick plastic that makes up the rest of the box is also evident here. More so the product listing and photographs will tell you it has plastic hinges, i cannot mark it down based on this, i dont expect they will fail so its not a big issue for me.

Overall this is a brilliant medium sized DIY box, lots of space, nice features such as the metal latch and top lid compartments, i have actually perched on it and it took my weight, i wouldnt suggest turning it into a chair but its very possible.

    Highly Recommended!
