The Total Pet figure of 8 lead is much gentler on your dog than similar style leads. Our lead has padding over the nose area which provides cushioning & comfort for your dog, making it ideal if your dog is an aggressive puller.
The lead encourages your dog to walk to heel because when pulled, the lead tightens, tilting your dog’s head down & breaking the line of sight. When returning to heel pressure is released which encourages your dog to walk in this manner. This lead can also be used as a slip lead if preferred.
The Total Pet rope anti pull figure of 8 dog lead also comes with a collar attachment. If your dog manages to escape the lead, this will still ensure your dog stays attached to the lead.
We offer this lead in 2 sizes, one (8mm diameter) which may be more suited to smaller/ medium sized dogs, the other (10mm diameter) which may be more suited to medium/large dogs. Although both leads can be used on any sized dog.

Calmed my rather exuberant golden retriever puppy right down. Minimal pulling and when he does he soon changes his mind about it! Really enjoyable experience walking him using this, makes a nice change from getting dragged and pulled!
This lead is a life changer for me! We have a 50kg 1 year old GSD, I’ve been unable to walk him for the last six months due to his pulling and reaction to seeing other dogs. Today however with this new figure of 8 lead, we had a lovely walk, saw other dogs, walked past people and the best thing ever is, I can now walk my gorgeous boy again thank you Elliot!
I dont want to speak too soon, but second time using the lead/collar and like the first time the transformation in my dog is remarkable. First time she resisted the coller a bit but walked alongside me with no pulling whatsoever. She even seemed reluctant to chase a cat she saw which was a huge change. Second time and she resisted the head coller less and again we’ve had another pleasant walk. She even saw another dog (which she usually reacts too) but we had minimal reaction. I am gobsmacked. I just hope this continues as it’s completely life changing and may mean I can walk my young dog without the stress and anxiety that usually ensues.
This is a well thought out and made product. Although my young dog isn’t keen on a figure of 8 this lead is helping him get used to it. I would recommend it for training any age dog.
The lead came exactly when we expected it and can’t recommend it enough! Excellent quality and design and works a treat to stop our Collie/Spaniel cross from pulling on a walk
This lead works a treat, if you’ve got a dog that pulls then give it a go. My only negative is I would like the lead to be a little longer but that’s just my personal preference.
100% recommend this leash, my young dog would pull like a horse and I was at my wits end on what to do. I purchased more leashes designed to stop the pulling but none worked until I got this one, what a transformation walks are far more enjoyable!! Took my dog a few minutes each time to get accustomed to it but I preserved and now she walks by my side with no issues.
My dog likes to pull when he sees another dog. If he’s on a normal extendable see he will pull on the lead until he is stand on two legs then he’ll start walking like a human. But with this lead he stays by my side walls calmly and gently. When he tries to pull you just need to hold the lead still and then the pulling stops.
He has tried a few times at first to get the snout loop off and at first he got it off once or twice but after some small treats he walks great with it. I will admit the snout loop does stop him from eating crunchier treats due to not being able to open his mouth as wide as normal.
Just to finish this review, the quality of the lead feels good. It has a little bit of stretch on the but not too much. The little collar clip comes in handy if your scared of your dog trying to wiggle free of the loops. Overall I have spoken highly of the lead to over dog owners that I know and I would recommend you giving it a try.
I bought this for my 16 month old Lakeland Terrier. His pulling and lunging had become so bad it was impossible to walk him without using both hands to hold his lead. This anti-pull lead has stopped this behaviour immediately. He was initially not happy wearing it but after a couple of days he tolerates it. Walking him has now become a pleasure once more
I’m not the science behind this design that makes it work… but from the very first wear, our dog’s behaviour was completely transformed. No more pulling, and any reactivity towards other dogs was shut down in seconds. We’ve worked with a great behaviourist as our terrier was afraid of larger dogs after some bad experiences, but we couldn’t control him enough on a normal lead to actually implement the training. This lead means he doesn’t lunge towards other dogs in the first place, making it safer for him, us and other people. We can now implement the training without stressing him out and it’s been great so far. Hopefully it continues improving.

My puppy loves to pull and dart off when she sees a bird or squirrel and this lead eliminated the pulling completely I’m so surprised it worked straight away ! I have next to no force on the lead, she walks confidently, head up no pulling, she does try and shake it off at times so keep an eye but I would deffo reccomend walks are now a breeze.
This has completely changed the way walks go with our dog. He is a American bulldog puppy 9months old and he had a serious pulling problem, to where I could not physically walk him. So my XL bully is a very well trained boy but he gets excited on his walks. With all the stuff going on at the moment I needed something to keep him 100% fully in control with our walk and his Halti just wasn’t cutting it and wad very uncomfortable for him. Soo I got this beauty and its a complete game changer. I still use a normal lead on his collar but I’m now fully in control and he is happy and comfortable.
Cannot rate this product enough. Have tried other slip leads, prong collars, vibrating collars and non have had the effect this lead does. This is a game changer. I have a very strong reactive German Shepherd. Used this lead last night and for the first time we strolled along the seafront for 1 hour 40. Usually I hire out private barns/fields so he gets his exercise. Not anymore!! This is giving me freedom as well as my Gsd. So easy to use, simple in design but a genius product and inexpensive. Our dog pulled something terrible, within a few minutes of thus being put on his walk improved immensely.
It dosnt seem to bother him if it’s on. It crossed under the chin and he wears it high up just behind the ears. I can liken it to leading a horse, you move and he follows. No massive correction is needed, a tiny tug works.
It’s florescent at night which is brilliant! Just remember to clip the lead to the collar.
It really was an instant diffrence in him. Walks have become enjoyable again and his lead is loose when we walk together.
The harness was immediately effective. He’s not keen on wearing it, but it doesn’t harm him. I’m not constantly pulling on his neck or putting pressure on his chest. He’s no longer dragging me along the road. If he pulls forward the lead tightens, closing his jaw. Once he stops pulling, which is within seconds, the lead loosens. It allows me to quickly and quietly get him under control.
He has tried to claw it off, and has succeeded, but that was purely because I hadn’t got it quite tight enough. It is a bit of trial and error.
There is a back up clip which I put either on his collar or attach to his body harness. If I feel that he’s likely to pull out of the head lead, at least I still have control of him. too much and the lead at the back of the dog’s head.
Used with behaviour modification, this is an effective lead. Don’t expect it to cure your dog!
Bought this lead as our 35Kg dog is a ‘puller’. Bought this lead after reading other reviews and it works. Dog cannot pull. Took a few walks to get him used to the band over his nose, but now he is happy to have it on. Makes walking the dog fun rather than a work-out and unpleasant.
The nose loop on the product can sometimes get a bit too tight. Easy to loosen though.Apart from that the product worked wonders on my dog n he pulls now n then but a gentle tug of the lead reminds him who’s incharge.
Quality product, great design. I have 10 month old rescue border collie who used to pull on the lead and lunge at cars and my 5 year old dog who would pull occasionally. I bought a couple of different leads from other suppliers both of which have not been suitable! I returned to this dog lead as have grown to really like the first lead that I purchased.
This lead seems to have all the right attachments. The padding around the nose seemed at first to not be very substantial but having purchased others where the padding was more substantial have since realised that it was irritating to one of my dogs and covered his eyes!
It has a clip that attaches to the dogs collar so if the dog escapes from the main lead then you still have them attached with the strap that attaches to their collar.
I decided to purchase a second one of these leads as: they are versatile, strong, substantial, ideal sized nose piece and the attachment that enables you to still have your dog on a lead even if he escapes which he has not managed to do yet! I do feel much more confident while walking my dogs as they no longer pull and I feel I am much more in control.
Much easier to use than a Halti and much easier to get on the dog, I now have only one lead instead if two!
A wonderful invention, just hoped they would come in other colours.
Ordered the figure of eight lead to see if it would stop our cocker spaniel from pulling.Took a little bit of time and patience but the lead has transformed our walks. He walks better no pulling he sometimes try to get it off but gets better the more we use it . Useful to extra clip for security and padded nose bit seems to help. Have recommended it to our friends and other dog walkers .
I have an American bulldog and our experience on the lead is she is dominant and pulls bad! Wow I wish I had tried this lead 2 years ago- I don’t dread walks now- hopefully it trains her long term to not pull and we can go back to a lead just attached to her colla
Our retriever is awful for pulling. We’ve tried Haltis (which has worked for our other dogs) and a harness to no avail. This was my last resort. And wow, I wish I tried this sooner!!! Taking a little to get used to something on her nose. But I’m sure she’ll soon get used to it!

I’ve only had this lead for 2 days but so far it seems to work. Previously when our dog has got used to new leads after a week or so he begins to chew it and the lead breaks. I have repaired quite a few. He eats anything !!!! I will let you know how I go on with this one. It Is comfortable and he does try to get it off but I hope this one is successful. As I walk a sight hound, normal leads don’t give me control when they see something they want to chase as by the type of dog they are he loves to chase birds, bunnies and squirrels.
They’re not inclined to want treats so having control with this lead is great.
There is still enough range of movement so that they can sniff around on their walk and having the neoprene nose guard allows me to have control without hurting him.

Great lead, so far has been a game changer. I actually walked our very big, strong Labrador for the first time in ages the other night and once he stops trying to scrape it off his nose, this will be great.
They did not work for my dogs. I put one 9n one dog and by the time I had put the other on my seat one dog had taken his off. We played this game for a few minutes until I gave up. Not the products faul
Due to weakness and fibromyalgia, I have tried so many different leads as I just couldn’t stop my dog pulling and was getting to the stage where I couldn’t take my dog out at all. This type of lead is a game changer, literally!
I have a rottweiler who likes to pull and whilst this doesn’t stop him pulling completely, it does help to reduce the amount he pulls and helps to have more control over him. The lead is fairly decent and so far haven’t had problems. If the clasp to secure the lead to the collar was sturdier I would have given 5 stars, but to be honest it’s a bit flimsy for a big dog.
As the happy owner of a nutty cocker spaniel who only saw a lead as tug rope be it attached to a collar or a harness, this has come as a blessed relief. Admittedly he wasn’t keen on it at first and would use a paw to sneak off the nose band when possible but within a week has accepted it and now walks with it on a slack lead in a close approximation of a “heel”. Only a slight tug is needed should a distraction encourage some pulling. As recommended by gun dog sites, we bought the 10mm version despite him being slight for his breed.
I liked the length and the padding on the nose. Dog didn’t as he hated head collars but that’s him haha you have to make sure it is pushed on tight as the clip can make it loose if you don’t check but otherwise great lead and fast delivery of course
Does the job of keeping my year old lab from pulling me off my feet. Easy to put on. Only slight negative is the soft nose band material to protect his nose moves about a little (likely as the lead is so adjustable) and I often have to try and move it once leads on to be in the correct position to stop the lead chaffing his nose.
We have a strong dog who can pull like a train if he is not on a halt type lead. Our local day day care man had a figure of eight lead and I have considered these previously. This product was an excellent choice. Excellent price and quality. More importantly, as it has no clips etc, it is easy to slip on and off and the nose piece looks comfortable.
My dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrior x Rottweiler, he’s very large and very strong so walks were very hard to do as he was a massive puller, I’m 28 weeks pregnant and with this lead I can walk him without any stress or pain afterwards/during.
