Game-Changer for DIY Projects
I recently purchased the TRACER Deep Hole Construction Pencil, and I can’t help but wonder why I didn’t make this decision sooner.
As someone who frequently undertakes DIY projects around the house, I’ve always struggled with keeping track of my pencils, which often get misplaced or go blunt at the most inconvenient times — especially when marking tougher materials like concrete or brick.
This pencil, with its cleverly designed holster, has been a complete game-changer. It’s not only easy to carry around without losing thanks to the site holster, but its durability and easily dispensed lead, make it indispensable – I will never go back to a standard pencil.
For anyone regularly involved in construction or even just frequent DIY tasks like myself, I can’t recommend this pencil enough. It simplifies your workflow and keeps frustration at bay
Good for rough marking. Sharpening is a pai
Pros – great having a holder for your pencil for efficiency. Good for rough marking
Cons – very soft lead means if you have lots of marking out to do it, gets blunt very quickly. So I bought harder leads off Amazon. however, I also struggle to get the point nice and sharp using the built in sharpener.
When this pencil arrived I thought it was brilliant, & for the right jobs I’m sure it is, but it’s not the universal workshop pencil I’d hoped it would be.
Pros: Deep hole marking, retractable lead, sharpener on lid, fairly sturdy
Cons: Goes blunt very quickly, lead has snapped in multiple places after drop, would be good if the lid slipped over the pen when in use as it’s forever getting misplaced.
It’s a decent product but I’ve decided to order a good mechanical pencil for marking up as the lead quickly going blunt is a pain. Possibly my fault for expecting more from this product than it promises. If you mostly need it for deep hole marking then I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Amazing pencil for construction.
Very handy pencil for working on construction. Just be careful about getting too much dust in the mechanism as it can strip the lead so they won’t work. Which I learnt from crawling under the floor!

Really good sturdy design, great tool to use, never thought I would say it about a pencil or scribing tool but great value for money, good to use in the carpentry shop, happy as a lark, bought refills separately they seem good quality too

SO easy to use.
If I said that this pencil was game-changing, you’d probably think that I was an idiot! However, have you ever spent 5 minutes looking for your pencil onsite? Perhaps I’m not so sill y now?!!! Buy this and never do it again. The holster simply clips on your pocket, belt, bag etc and your pencil is always where you left it. It’s designed to easily accept the pencil, so I don’t even look down to secure the pencil anymore – it’s all second nature. Whenever I need it, it’s there, where I left it. The narrow design means that you can mark through holes and the sharpener on the holster is a nice touch too. Money well spent.

After sharpening a pencil to nothing this week I thought I’d take the plunge and spend eight quid on this. Great product and love the inbuilt Sharpener, ordered Another for. Friend with. A pack of refills of lead .
Good price, works well
I really like the design and robust feel of this pencil. I also love the feature of having a sharpener built in to the holder, it’s a small detail but it’s been so helpful.
Perfect addition to my toolbox
It’s as simple as they solve the age old problem of marking where to drill a wall when the hole is too deep for a pencil. Really impressed. Used it half a dozen times and has made life significantly easier every time. These are a no-brainer for anyone with this problem
Can't be without i
If your on the tools or a DIYer then you need one of these and the refill pack. The leads last ages are very quickly sharpened and brilliant for mark down holes, inside things – just everything. I probably need to get a spare one just in case. I simply cant be without it.
The only pencil I use now
I’ve been using these pencils a few years now and won’t go back to my usual pencils, and being a carpenter that now wears glasses my old pencil holder now hold my glasses.
These pencils sit perfectly in my snickers pocket and very easily accessible and I get into some strange shapes.
The only downside is after a while the mechanical part inside the pencil loses grip somehow and the lead slips in when trying to mark, although that’s after a long period of time normally.
Game change
One of the best investment I’ve made. Really good product, this is my second one to buy, as my old one the clip broke due to lending to someone, over stretched it and eventually broke. I will still recommend this product especially for electricians.

This pen is perfect for its role and does what it says on the tin.
I use this pen for everything, not just for deeper holes.
Lead does not break easily that I have noticed, dropped it several times and did not break the lead inside the tube.
