As a gardener in Edmonton Alberta, our growing climate can be difficult. The screened in lid provided shelter at night but good ventilation, unlike plastic, on mini greenhouses. My veggie greens are amazing, after one month. I will have to harvest and replant soon.

I first learned about Vegepod at a local home show event. What sold me was the ability to hold water and and attached misting tube. The pod was not difficult to assemble and the instructions were well written. This item is great for small spaces, patios and especially for anyone who doesn’t have the ability to get low to the ground to garden.

Exactly what we were after. Easy assembly, can’t wait to start to grow.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am in an apartment with a balcony, and i love it, it protects from the wind, and makes it possible to actually have a garden. I tried growing stuff for a long time, always to have it die either to wind, as once your above the tree line, it gets a lot more powerful. Would recommend 100%

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have NEVER been able to keep any plant alive but I really wanted my kids to start a garden. Since I didnt have the tools to build a greenhouse or planters I got rid hoping it would help keep the bugs out. This is my vegetable garden after one month. It’s amazing. It stands high winds and keeps out most bugs. Aside from a few ants, I haven’t had any other bugs.

Very expensive but it works grea

    Great produc

I thought the assembly instructions were exceedingly poorly written. The photos were too grainy and small to be of any assistance. In reality, the assembly was easy when I figured it out. I’m surprised that a “Shark Tank” product has such poor quality instructions. The Vegepod is very sturdy and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWe were intrigued by the Vegepod because we wanted a raised bed for growing vegetables on our patio. The “Shark Tank” note is from the Australian version of that show. It’s available to view and it’s a good intro to the product.

Putting it together was not the worst thing to do, but the written instructions are not the best. I HIGHLY recommend watching their on-line videos (check their website) before starting so you have a good visual of how things should go. Once you watch those the written instructions will make more sense.

We also bought the “Trolley” to raise the Vegepod up to waist height. See my warning above on this, too. But once it’s together it is a godsend as we are older and bending down to tend to the garden would be a back nightmare.

We’ve now added our soil and recently planted our first potential crop of veggies (There are also some on-line videos about that process). It’s still a little cool here (NJ in April) but we’re hoping the cover helps keep the plants alive as the weather warms up.

We definitely appreciate the way this is constructed. No wood to worry about rotting! and the trolley makes it easy to move around the patio if needed. (the trolley does not go on top of soft ground because of the wheels – they sell a stand without the wheels but after you add soil it will be heavy so place that where it’s going to stay!). Time will tell if the thick plastic Vegepod unit and enamel-painted metal trolley stand up to our sometimes harsh NJ winters.

We would have given this 5 stars all around if we had seen some veggies growing but it’s too soon for that.

One more time … watch the videos!! Then enjoy the fruits (or veggies) of your labor.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI saw this on Shark Tank (Australia).
We live in Austin and it gets HOT! Anything to make gardening easier and spend less time in direct sunlight is a huge win.
We put our seedlings in the VegiPod and they love it. It’s so easy to use and take care of. I have ordered larger ones.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a game changer for container gardening. While it is expensive, it’s worth every penny with the results we’re seeing. The plants get just the right amount of water and the cover helps keep the plants from getting too much sun (important here in Texas), as well as reduces insects and keeps animals from getting into the plants. Compared to our plants in other containers, these are significantly healthier. We also got the stand, which makes it a lot easier on the back. Planning to try the winter cover as well to see if that helps extend the growing season.

    Overall, great product. Highly recommend!

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersYes, it’s worth the money! This review is just over a year after purchasing the vegepod. Here is the setup of mine: we live in Summerlin, NV where temps do get to 110-115 in the summer. The vegepod is sitting in the patio underneath the roof. It gets morning and afternoon light with shade during 12-4pm. The winter here by Red Rock canyon gets chilly in the 20’s with very very very strong winds (50-60 mph gusts). I have bungee cords wrapped around my patio post to the top of the vegepod so it will not fly away.

I did get the stand without the wheels (regretting that now) and the winter cover. I see where I could have used the wheels to move it around the patio easily for more or less shade. Now that it’s extremely heavy with 9 big bags of soil, that baby isn’t going anywhere. I did also purchase a regular shade cloth because I couldn’t buy the one that fits the top at that time and I use clothe pins to snap the shade cloth during the 2 hot months here. I also purchased the $50ish 3×3 watering system hose by Garden In Minutes along with $8 timer on my faucet. This system has worked flawlessly. My work has me home every other week and my system can keep growing without me tending to it. It really was worth the investment. The plastic has not broken down at all since buying it. Most plastics do within a few months of exposure to the sun here but I do keep it in half shade most of the time.

My husband thought it was ridiculous for the price and did not want it. Despite him, I got it anyways for the purpose of growing greens (spinach in particular since the prices here are California prices for food). I picked New Zealand spinach for this climate and boy was I surprised! I do have other things in it but it’s now a jungle. That’s the only gripe my husband has now which I can handle. I have swiss chard, onions, oregano, and kale along with the spinach. Lettuce was in it but bolts way too soon due to the temps in spring and fall. Carrots do wonderful in it too. I have learned tomatoes grow best here in November, December, and January under the winter cover. My kale isn’t big but produces a lot. I now have a Brussels plant in it that has taken over with the spinach. We will see what it will do.

    Happy gardening!

    It was worth the investment!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI bought this vegepod because I live next to a nature preserve and I fail every year to get a garden to grow before the critters dig in. I bought the medium and it’s a good size to work with. The vegepod itself is very easy to put together. The cover thingy is a little tough to put on but not terrible. I have not hooked up the misting system because I just couldn’t figure out how to do it. I may need to do that eventually. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a protected garden bed. One last thing, I found that a rodent chewed through the top netting thing today. I’ll either patch it up or order another cover to continue to keep those rodents out.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThe written instructions were not very good. You will want to go to the vegepod website and just look at the install videos which made this very easy. If you purchased the cart, make sure that the legs durthest apart have holes aligned to screw in the tube. Great quality product. We bought the medium with the cart and will be ordering the latge as well.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersThis thing is much larger and deeper than I anticipated! Excellent well made product! I researched many elevated planters given I have back issues And did not want to be bending and stooping to care for my garden. I also did not want the wooden ones because I did not know the origin of the wood and they all should be sealed so they last more than one year. Didn’t like the idea of putting any sealant on something containing food as those chemicals will seep into the soil there by into the vegetables.
It took me approximately one hour to put the entire thing together start to finish. Instructions were very clear. All parts were there and in perfect condition. If you follow the instructions step-by-step you should not have any issues assembling it.
The only reason I did not give this product five stars is because I just received it and have not filled with soil and planted seeds yet. I also have not assembled the cover. Will do that after planting the seeds.
I will post a follow up review after I’ve had the opportunity to plant seeds and they begin growing. Stay tuned!
