This is the Third device I’ve bought
Well ( 2 came with my Motorhome. )
This 1 I bought to charge a mobility scooter.
    ( 1 year old)
Work’s brilliantly, app is stable, does more
    Works better than supplied charger.
And with my existing Solar panels squeezed every watt out. With the excess power I used 2 old batteries I didn’t think worked any longer
But I was wrong and have been happily running a old camping fridge.
When bench tests were completed it’s now a case of connect & forget. Both versions are good and do the job but I prefer the Bluetooth versio

    Can’t rate these high enough.

Purchased to replace a defective charge controller that gave several years service. Straightforward swap and performance is far superior. App and interface is informative and easy to use too.

I purchased this for my 2 x 100 W solar panel set up as that is what I thought it was for, 75 Volt / 10 Amp Max. My panels are in Series, 42 Volt with 5.5 Amp output However, I have since learnt that the Watts should be less that 145 Watts, so this is not suitable. I have already thrown out the packaging and original box, so I guess I am not able to return this unit. I have connected it, and I’m hoping it will cope OK, seeing as I only seem to get around 20-40 Watts on a cloudy day. I doubt I will ever get the 200 Watts max. I will see what happens. Anyway, Bluetooth is great and very interesting to see.

You just can’t go wrong with Victron kit. It just works. Very easy to install and set up. It has bluetooth connectivity built in, so no annoying external dongle needed. The Victron Connect application is simply the best out there. Gives you full control of all your Victron kit in one place. Shows performance stats and also history, which is very useful information.
It costs a little more than some other brands, but considering its capabilities and the built in bluetooth, the price is very competitive. It’s also much smaller than the cheaper ones making it easier to mount and can take a much higher input voltage than most.

Super easy to install and set up with a lot of options in the app for settings. Bluetooth app is great and a simple visual of what
Your solar set up is doing. Only negative is I used 10awg wire from my panels on camper roof and was incredibly difficult to get wire into terminal, largest gauge to use with this controller should be no more than 12awg, apart from that great and much better and faster at charging than the PWM controller I originally had installed. Worth the extra money.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI purchased this Victron 75/10 MPPT charge controller to charge a SLA battery via a small 100w solar panel. It appears to do the job well. Much better than my cheap PWM controller i was using prior to this. I love the fact this controller is Bluetooth, the Victron app is excellent and shows you the information you want to know, ie watts going in and amps. The SOC is very inaccurate but you are never going to be able to read an accurate SOC without a shunt. The app also informs you of your solar yield, i find this especially helpful. There are much cheaper charge controllers out there but victron is one of the best and the added functions make the price a little bit more worth it for me.

Build quality wise it is excellent – there is no heat sink on this controller as it is the lowest voltage they do, therefore it makes it nice and compact to hide away out of sight. The bluetooth range is ok if you are in the same room, but leave the room the controller is in and i could not get a connection.

I have a much bigger solar setup with lifepo4 batteries, which i use a different brand of charge controller for, i would love to upgrade this to a victron, but the price is just too expensive at the moment for higher Volts/Amperage Victron controllers.

I hope that you found my review helpful.

    Great for Smaller Solar Setups

Got this to replace my cheap chinese controller and the difference in charging capacity and the control you have is amazing. Not cheap but I still think it was worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe item is well made and easy to fit….BUT….bluetooth connectivity fails when attempting to pair the device with my iPhone or Macbook Pro computer, so I am unable to monitor it’, and the solar panels, performance. I have therefor given 3 stars for “easy to install” as installation was impossible to complete. This seems to be a common fault judging by the number of people who have been as unsuccessful as me when trying to pair the device. The advice is to refer to the pairing instructions but despitefollowing instructions to the letter it does not work. The connection, like many other folks, fails at 80%. There appear to be no solutions. I therefor cannot recommend this device. What I would recommend is buy the item without bluetooth (Victron BlueSolar)….it is cheaper.

We have used this in our motorhome with our 160w solar panel and its fantastic. You can see so much information via the app and change settings etc. We have had it up and running a good few weeks now and can’t fault it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good product, working well so far, fully programmable via the built in Bluetooth. Plenty of setting up info on YouTube( Be carefully only the smart version has built in Bluetooth). The only down side is Bluetooth has short range, Not the cheapest out there but you get what you pay for. Comes highly recommended, other than that can’t fault it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this to charge new renogy lifepo4 & lead acid battery via a Dokio 160w portable solar panel and it works very well. The application is very easy to use and instructions easy to follow, there are multiple profiles for different types of batteries. One important instruction to follow is to attach the battery connector first before the solar otherwise you could risk damaging the charge controller.

Easy to control and monitor generation and consumption including history.
Output that is programmable to switch off at low voltage is a handy feature. Compact unit easy to install with the usual good quality from Victron.

I had been using a ring controller and this didn’t seem to work correctly, seen some reviews on the Victron systems and though what have I got to lose.
it took me about 30 minutes to do the swap over and go through the settings screen, this was easy and simple as there is a lot of info available on the Victron site, all managed through the free app, ohh boy what a difference this made, instant data and charging my batteries at around 10amps at the time.

I find myself sitting watching the app on the smart phone to see how much the batteries are charging, how much sun I’m getting…I would recommend these systems to anyone looking for a good MPPT system along with there solar panels, brilliant bit of kit…

Bought this unit to replace a renogy unit which lasted 8 months fortunately bought & returned through amazon not had time to give a good test yet but the bluetooth is great & victron has a good reputation with the off grid commity

I have a Victron battery charger too and it is really convenient to be able to see how both pieces of equipment are performing, just from my phone. I have a single 100W solar panel at present, which the controller handles with ease. Difficult to say yet how it performs long-term.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReplaced a PWM controller as MPPT provides a more stable charge.
Bluetooth connectivity is actually more than a gimmick, nice history graphs, and signal strength reaches into the kitchen next to the drive.
Now I can resite the controller under the seat with the battery and don’t have to guess what the led lights mean on the PWM.

Great product easy to install Bluetooth worked straight away so much better that the one I had on the motorhome plus you can watch how many amps it’s putting back in the batteries.

Very easy to set up. Just watch for the + and – on the connectors, as they switch round between the first and second pair.
This works much better than the PWM one which came with the solar panel. Charges the battery even on dull October days.

Great piece of kit, works beautifully and the Bluetooth app is superb but whoever set up/designed the provided battery profiles needs to go back and look at them again.
I didn’t recognise a single profile offered, all we need is say, Flood, Gel, AGM, Lithium and perhaps a few other exotics.
OK you can go in and set up your own battery profile but it’s really difficult to find these on the web and it’s fiddly and unnecessary.
Come on Victron give us some realistic, workable battery profiles which people recognise.

A premium price but a premium product. Bought for my 180w panel and it works a treat. I especially like the Bluetooth communication with the app, very easy to keep an eye on the systems performance.

Like all Victron products this is well built and reliable, easy to setup and the app has good features to be able to monitor and change parameters. A little more range on the Bluetooth would be nice though.

This unit is a joy to install and maximises the solar gain to the needs of the batteries. I have two 50w Renogy panels feeding the unit connected to the leisure bank and the screenshot is from a phone connected via bluetooth, if you want this functionality get the ‘Smartsolar’ variant. The bluetooth is quite weak so usable in my boat cockpit area, but not half way down the boat, given how often you need to see this info, not a big issue to me. The power it provides is enough to make up the power used by my 12v fridge in optimum conditions. My set up is working very well, but the image is from midday on a hot sunny June day in the midlands UK.

Smartsolar. Easy to install and very effective

Seems to keep batteries well topped up, much better than a cheaper solar regulator so well worth the expense. Blue tooth easy to set up and it is nice to see the history of what it has done whilst I’m ‘away’.

Small but packs a punch! Ordered this after I realised my solar panel’s voltage was too high for my ctek d250se. This handles 3x the voltage and it has Bluetooth which is awesome.

Really easy to set up and get going. Bluetooth range seems decent too – app is easy to use to monitor input / and charge status.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small but mighty - app is really good too

Excellent product. Unclear whether it can deactivate LiFePO4 batteries from protective mode. Excellent app. Would be better if MC4 could plug directly into instead of screw in terminals which are very fiddly and risk reverse polarity connections.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis controller is easy to install: 2 wires to battery, 2 wires from solar panel, optional 2 wires to load (depending on how you are planning to use it). This feels really nice and solid. The 3 LEDs show at a glance what’s happening with your battery. If you install in out of the way, the VictronConnect app gives easy access to all sorts of useful monitoring information.

Much better than the Votronic controller that this is replacing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent all-round functionality

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThere’s an old adage, you get what you pay for. In this case sums it up perfectly.
Single panel on van roof feeding the victron which is keeping a 100aH lithium battery charged which in turn powers a true sine wave inverter to keep Makita batter charger going. All working perfectly, yet before the victron a cheap Chinese charge controller just didn’t cut it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have a campervan with a 100W solar panel and 2 x batteries 220amp total.
I’m impressed with this, well made and is easy to setup. Built in Bluetooth and app is great.
Manual is okay but do your research on meanings of certain functions such as absorption. The MPPT seems to draw from the solar only what it needs which is clever and regulates the power. I had a fridge, 1000W Inverter running and charging 2 phones and MPPT was brilliant see 100W PHOTO. It drew power from the solar to supply what was being used and maintained the float charge very clever. You got to get one they are ace but a bit pricey. Update- I posted a question about this item about why my battery voltage (12.73v) at the controller was different to the battery voltage with a voltmeter (12.3v). Through some research it is because the cable between the controller and the battery terminals is to thin. So I put in thicker cable and it has worked perfectly. Both the voltmeter readings and the controller readings are exactly the same so now i know what state of charge the batteries are at. Really great controller.

    WOW I'm impressed.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersWith only 175w of solar panels on my “Solar Shed”, I’ve never wanted it to offset my normal house mains supply, but I did add 816Ah of flooded lead acid battery capacity and a 2.5 Kw mains inverter so that I could keep the fridge, freezer and some LED lights going for a couple of days if we ever get power cuts. On the weeks when the power is solid, I use the “Solar Shed” to do a couple of washing machine loads, and run the electric lawnmower. This has all worked fine in the summer but the old PWM controller that arrived with the panels, was struggling in the winter. So when it also developed an intermittent fault last week, I started researching a better replacement.
The Victron unit is far superior in every respect. Firstly, it harvests about 15% more power at low light conditions than the PWM unit could, and secondly it is amazingly configurable, via its Bluetooth driven link with an App on your smartphone (see pics).
I was particularly pleased to see that it can automatically run an equalisation charge at a voltage of your choice for a defined period after a user configurable period of days that can be over some weeks or months. It also allows you to just run one manually – ideal on a nice sunny day when the batteries are already “Floating” and you just want to get the Specific Gravities of all 18 cells to be nice and uniform.
I have three top tips for you if you want to invest in this top quality controller:-
A). Read the manual and pay careful attention to polarities when you connect the load, battery and PV positives and negatives. The battery is different, see..
B). When you download the APP and run it for the first time, it will automatically request access to Bluetooth itself and “find” the controller – Pass-Code is “000000” (Six Zeroes)
C). If you don’t want the load to be “Permanently on” (The default), then you will have to install and run the App, go to “Settings” (The wee Cog) and change it to “Permanently off”.

A Well made and versatile MPPT controller with bluetooth, that works straight out of the box.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s now been in my motor home for 6 months and has been a very good buy. My Solar panel has been keeping the leisure battery topped up. The App that goes with this kit and others is very good and you can see current status of the battery i.e. Float or charging voltage and all the history is recorded. There is obviously inbuilt protection to prevent overcharge.

Our motorhome has a full suite of Victron gear, and it’s amazing. I opted for a smaller charge controller for each of our 2 300w panels, rather than a single, larger controller, and so far this has worked very well.

The charge controllers have an excellent app, which allows setup and monitoring, and also can interface with the VRM.

The load outputs are good, I managed to run most of the systems in the motor home off the load outputs, which is good for monitoring usage and protecting the battery.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m running this controller with 2x40W panels in series (1 panel until recently). It does a perfect job of keeping my boat battery charged despite continual drain from autodialler alarm system and remote CCTV.

The app – which I use on an iPhone – is great, with plenty of configurable options. Although it is not essential, it is very useful. The load can be set to disconnect at low voltage to protect your battery and it can be set to switch to connect or disconnect according to various conditions, for example switching on lights at dusk till dawn, or switching on for a specified time. It provides data on how your solar system is performing for the last 30 days, which is downloadable.

I would fully recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersSo far so good, I mounted new solar panel on caravan roof and after buying and mounting a cheap mppt controler from Chinese web site I monitored battery and it was overcharging by a lot so that was 25 wasted. Followed Victron instructions for the 75/10 mppt unit and away it went, I have a DVM permanently mounted so I can easily monitor the battery voltage and for the last 6 weeks the voltage has been spot on the magical 13.8 volts falling overnight to a lower value and then coming back up to 13.8 in the morning. I believe the warranty is longer than the obligatory one year so they must have confidence in their product so if you are spending 150 on a solar panel don’t try to save a few quid on a naff piece of tack it can cost more in the long run.

This is a quality MPPT solar charge controller, very well made and works well, The bluetooth range is not very far maybe 15-20 feet, I wish it went further as i have it in the garden shed and would like to be able to see the status and output status when in the house. So far it has worked perfectly, I would recommend this to anybody who needs a quality MPPT controller.
