Does the job
I have used this over the few weeks of sunny weather and it has worked well. Has held full double duvet set and towels. I use a prop with it as it does sag without one. Love how it tidies away.

Can’t fault this brand on everything they do, they do it well & for a reasonable cost. Love the design and concept of being able to hang the washing out with the option for it to retract and be hidden away put of sight. 100% reccomend, durable, cheap & very happy purchase
Works well
Works well, last one lasted around 4yrs before the cable snapped after being baked in the sun and never retracted. Good service life, good performance and easy to mount/use
Perfec
I bought one of these 15 years ago, from somewhere or other.
Mounted on the house wall permanently through rain and shine, and used all the time when it wasn’t raining.
During the 15 years the plastic coating on the line had been snagged in a couple of places, but still worked OK.
Better safe than sorry, I decided to replace it … Over the moon when I found the exact same Cordomatic on Amazon. .

I am pleased I bought this!
I wanted a retractable line and this one is as good as any. I have attached it to two sides of the fence.
I bought a cleat hook from B&Q for 1 and screwed it under the line, I use that to tension the line rather than the bit on the casing – it needs something stronger and you can get more tension this way. A lot of the bad reviews would probably be positive if the item actually came with a separate cleat hook.
It works great – I tension it hard and then hang the clothes and when it’s done I cover it with a sandwich bag and a clip to keep it clean and dry. I extend it probably 11 metres and it hardly sags with a load of laundry on it. Exactly what I wanted. Very pleased.
So far, so good.
When it arrived, I was a little dubious that it wouldn’t be up to the job as we’d be using almost the whole 15m stretch and the line looks to be about half the thickness of the ‘manual’ length of line we were using. But so far it’s been fine – it’s holding up with a full line of wet towels on a windy day.
Strong and sturdy.
This product is really strong and sturdy with a goog strong line, I hate a washing line constantly out across the garden I think they totally distract your view of the garden so when you are finished with it it just retracts back into it’s case.
Good Compact Retractable Line
Bought to replace an older version of the same product which ahs seen may years of service. The are good quality and sturdy retractable lines, but unfortunately Vileda has chosen to change the hole sizes and positions in the wall bracket, so it was not a direct swap onto the old screws. Only a minor detail, but frustrating as it made removing the old one and fitting the new one a 15 minute job with more tool and drilling required rather than a 2 minute swap.
Very good produc
This is our second Vileda clothes line which I bought to give us extra drying capability. They are well made and as far as I can tell, have not stretched. We have hooks in various places in the garden so that we can have long or short lines as needed, making it very versatile.
Compact clothes line uni
Quality retractable clothes line that was easy to fit with two screws. Plenty of line with locking loop moulded into the case to stop additional line running out of unit when loop on end of line attached to hook at relevant distance. Will take a heavy load of washing with no bother the retracts line after use.
Not heavy but sturdy
When it arrived I wasn’t sure as it’s not very heavy at all, but once up it’s great and the nylon line cord is very sturdy.
Great length too – I can hang out 2 washer loads at a time which is great.
Having struggled with rotary washing lines and given up quickly over last few years, decided to give this a go. It’s been a game changer. So easy to use, husband had set up in a matter of minutes. Easy to extend and put away. We have a pice of tubing in the middle as is quite a long line in our garden but means I can get lots of washing on! I wish I had purchased this years ago – would have saved hundreds on tumble drying! Would definitely recommend!
It’s good and sturdy but the issue is, once you tide the end to other side, it’s a battle to tide the line on the right lenght for it to not sagg to much
This is our second one of these. The last one worked very well for eight years before I cut through it with a hedge saw (this morning), Not to worry, ordered another straight away and it’s delivered by 7pm the same day. All for 12. What a bargain!
No hang ups with this piece of ki
Very neat and easy to fit. Bought to replace a previous one that had stopped rewinding. Only time with tell with regards to quality as at the moment the new one struggles to completely rewind, but does eventually.
I have given this item 4 out of 5 due to the weak wall mount, everything else is great.
If you put a full bedding load & jeans on the line even with a prop, the mount will bend slightly.
Easy to install and works well so far.
On a full load of washing it does tend to sag a bit and a pole is needed.
Can comment of durability yet as only just fitted and used a few times.
Perfect for what I need
As the weather has got a little manic its hard to tell if its gonna rain when we have friends round.
We have a marquee we use now and had to take the old static line down.
Now with this one it just needs to be up when needed. Retracts easily and does what it needs to do.
Washing line
This is just what I wanted. You pull out the line until you have the right length then wrap it around the cleat so it doesn’t sag. Line maybe a bit thin but I’m happy with it.
Bought a second one to replace the original. It is useful but the coating of the line will perish in sunlight so annoyingly needs to be wound in after use. Once it cracks, it doesn’t wind back well & no way of replacing the line. Still not so bad as we bought a replacement of the same type.
Easy to put up and set up. I was disconcerted when the line sagged alarmingly when it had washing hanging off it. What was not immediately apparent was that the line, despite being looped around the catch lug at the bottom, was being pulled off the reel. Looping the line twice around the lug seems to work! Hopefully. Line props are essential. I am using the line as I type this, having done all of the things mentioned above and usingi 2 line props. All seems well. I’ll update if anything further happens.
