You'll never look at a Santa in the same way agai
This film was a laugh from start to finish also has some action and other bits but the comedy in this is what you’ll remember when ever you see a santa.
5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas murdered lol
Great film, funny, bloody and great ending
Bring on a sequel
You better be good
We often encounter the question, ‘When was it that we stopped believing in Santa Claus?’, but probably never thought of the question this movie poses – ‘What if Santa stops believing in us?’ This is a strange, ‘feel good’ movie. Strange because of the amount of violence throughout the film – guys (bad ones) falling and impaled by spikes, a X’mas decoration struking another int the eye and then electrocuted – but there is a message somewhere. Perhaps more than one. You better be good or Santa kicks …There is magic involved so this is also a fantasy film, but it is well done and captivating. So, whether this movie gets four or five stars depends on whether one believs in Santa. I have 8 more months before X’mas to change my mind.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ho Ho Ho
A group of mercenaries raid a mansion and take hostages on Christmas Eve but haven’t reckoned on an unexpected and unlikely hero. Santa Claus delivering presents. One of those why didn’t we think of this earlier movies. Completely ridiculous, over the top, very violent and a lot of fun with terrific brutal action and excellent performances from David Harbour as Santa Claus and John Leguizamo as the nasty evil mercenary leader. This could become a new adult Christmas classic and possibly a new action movie franchise.
Christmas with a difference
Starts off as a lovely Xmas movie, but then it turns into another, John Wick style movie. There are some funny parts & this is a good Christmas movie with a difference, I thoroughly enjoyed this one
Very violent but also very hilarious
This Santa is not the lovable character you have your children sit on his knees in the grotto. Refreshingly the Santa is not cloyingly sweet, he swears and is rather partial to killing the bad guys in an orgy of violence, blood and guts (which is so over the top that it is more humorous than averting your eyes). This should be watched every Christmas period
5.0 out of 5 stars Good festive fu
Not your traditional Christmas movie it’s great fun to watch with good action sequences David harbour is very good in this movie
4.0 out of 5 stars Violent and Entertaining

5.0 out of 5 stars Movie that's easy to like
Delivery and packaging fine. The movie itself was very good. Had a lot of action, a lot of comedy and a lot of heart. Recommended.
A Brilliant Violent Night.
This is absolutely marvelous.Imagine,Die Hard,Knives Out,Home Alone &The Santa Clause and you got pretty much the idea.
Violent, bloody, funny & surprising.I dunno about under 12s seeing this,as i said its pretty violent but it has some real caring tender bits too.Very likable film.Loved it and would recommend it.Its not a horror, its just very original.I can only recommend it highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars "..BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER.."
PLOT…
When a group of mercenaries attack the estate of a wealthy family, Santa Claus must step in to save the day (and Christmas)
Violent night is certainly one of the best and most entertaining movies of 2022 and its a Christmas movie that could be watched anytime of the year really, its a mad over-the-top violent action comedy a cross between Die Hard and Home Alone, even though the movie is bloody and violent it has the perfect blend of holiday cheer and fantasy and magic at the same time which makes it work so well. And of course it has a brilliant cast especially David Harbour who is brilliant and perfect as the role of Santa! This is certainly one of the most entertaining and original crimbo movies in a few years, lots of action and imaginative uses of holiday decorations for weapons. And also the ending of the movie is great and features the best death scene of all time, great music too its not to be missed, absolutely brilliant!
Blu-ray has a great HD picture.
Features include deleted/extended scenes, featurettes.
Region FREE ABC. Running time 1hr 52mins. 2022.
English language movie.
5.0 out of 5 stars New Christmas movie favourite
Die Hard meets Home Alone. We absolutely loved it (2adults 2 teens), ‘Hopper’ was great as Santa. Have booked to go to see again at the cinema and waiting to purchase for home.
Takes a lot to find a film that we all like… and, thankfully had sneak peeked Spirited (dreadful musical not saved by A-list cast) before choosing Violent Night as our Christmas Eve film.
Lots of laughs and gasps.. my ‘sweet’ young teen daughter liked it far too much
Watched this last night after realising that it’s from the same people that did Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.
You then add David Harbour in the mix and you’re on to a winner I mean who doesn’t love Hopper I would of watched it because he was in it anyway!
The violent comedy in both these movies is unlike anything else it’s so fantastically done, a basic let’s take the p*** out of killing people but with that hilarious element of genius
Definitely give it a watch you won’t be disappointed and if you didn’t see Bullet Train and you enjoyed this style of movie then give that a watch and if you didn’t realise how gorgeous David is you now have the pleasure of Stranger Things
Thank me late
Take the humour of ‘Home Alone’, mix in the action from ‘Die Hard’ sprinkle with the gratuitous violence from ‘Purge’ place it all in a home invasion story seasoned with Christmas hokum and as many cliches as one can fit in; serve it all up with ones tongue firmly in ones cheek and you’ve got a stupid and ridiculous piece of nonsense that’s just fun from beginning to end.
But that’s all it is, just a peice of fun that you’ll either find very entertaining or just too ludicrous for words and who’s it aimed at?
The humour and story is very infantile, best appreciated by a child, but the content is only fit for adults.
So one for adults with a mischievous and base inner child.
When Santa Claus is delivering presents to the private estate of a very wealthy American family he finds himself stuck in the middle of a home invasion as bad types attempt to steal the family’s wealth. When gun fire is set off, his reindeer scarper leaving him to defend for himself in a house full of well armed bad guys. However, with the help of the one person in the house who still believes in Santa and a very large sledgehammer, Santa dishes out some season’s beatings to the bad guys in the hope of saving Christmas for everyone.
Violent Night is the festive movie I have been waiting years for. It is the perfect mix of heart warming sentimentality and brutal, gory violence. David Harbour is perfectly cast as the disillusioned Santa, no longer feeling the love for his career choice who takes out his frustrations on an endless line of cliched villains. His partner in crime, a little girl called Trudy with a Home Alone obsession is also spot on, helping out her new friend Santa with some brutal twists on some classic Home Alone traps, some of which brought the biggest laughs of the film for me. None of the other characters are likeable but they’re not supposed to be, the rest of Trudy’s family all get their comeuppance one way or another and yet the film still manages to end with a heartwarming Christmas wish. An entertaining, funny and violent Christmas movie that will be adding to my annual watch list.
