Needed a nut rivet tool, chose the Von Haus one purely on price. I’m surprised at how well made and easy to use it is, comes with a few of each size rivet to get you started, all packaged in a decent case. Would recommend.
Fantastic tool that allows you to place a captive nut in sheet metal. A must for any van or camperrvan conversion work. As soon as you use it you will feel the quality in the way its made. Heavy duty and well fit for purpose.
A very cool tool. Used to create some screw sockets, placed underneath a number plate, for a car reverse camera unit. Didn’t trust supplied adhesive strips for the camera bracket so this was perfect. As a general DIY person this is easy to use but I would recommend trying it out on a couple of biggish pieces of metal, 30mm square washers in my case, to get use to it before trying it out on something like I did, such as a car. Plenty of rivet nuts of many sizes are provided too so don’t need to buy any extra.
This is the exact kit that B&Q sell. After realising it was also listed on amazon with next day delivery, I thought it was better than having a 7 day wait when buying through the B&Q website. The kit is brilliant, comes with everything needed for M3 up to M12, including the carry case and some rivnuts to get you started. The case also contains a leaflet which has illustrated instructions on how to set it up and use it with the different mandrel sizes.
I have been using a smaller single-handed tool, which was “adequate” for small aluminium rivnuts but struggled with larger or steel rivnuts, so I treated myself to this. Early days, and I’ve only used it for 6mm stainless rivnuts, both new and resetting old ones, but so far I’m very happy with it, a good upgrade and easy to use.
I purchased this rivnut tool to replace one I managed to break due to poor build quality. Thus one works very well and I haven’t managed to break it. Just be careful I have managed to pull rivets out, pull them through and pull the threads out.
