Bought this for when I have my Granddaughter. I’ve downloaded the app and set the camera up. This works perfectly, I can easily see and hear her. Saves me going up and downstairs to check on her. Very unobtrusive and easy to use. Would recommend A*

Very easy to set up, discrete and excellent coverage. Love that it links to the phone and allows us to move it to check in on our puppy to make sure he isn’t getting up to no good in the hidden corners!

Great value for money and very easy user interface.

I have been using it for almost 2 weeks and it’s great value for money , I ll probably get 2 more for the other rooms, . Easy to install, works every time if you have good internet connection. Honestly fantastic for the price you pay . I would say that the 5 fee for the cloud is not a good deal and I don’t use that option , but probably that’s where you earn your money so make that more reasonable and more subscribers will follow

The Q5 camera has proved very suitable for the home security purpose for which I purchased it. It was relatively easy to set up and responds well within the app. Unfortunately I experienced a problem with the first camera I purchased which ceased working very soon after being set up. I contacted Wansview customer service and after an exchange of e-mails trying to resolve the problem failed the unit was replaced promptly. This was an excellent example of good customer service which gives me the confidence to deal with the company in the future.

I have a couple of these cameras and like them a lot, one went wrong, I contacted [email protected] and they helped me and arranged a replacement camera, which is due in 2-3 days.
Other than the camera going wrong, which everything does eventually, they were professional and very prompt with the help and advice, there is definitely other companies that could follow wansview example.

I have x5 of these. They look nice, are relatively easy to set up and do the job. We have a house abroad and we monitor it with these cameras. There are lots of options regarding sensitivity and area covered for alerts so you can get them doing the job you need them to do. The pan option is really useful. I had a problem recently accessing the alert videos on their app after upgrading my phone. After a bit of back and forth, they have managed to give me a workable solution. They were polite and responded quickly to my emails.

It seemed to be a perfect fit so I bought one..and it was, so I bought another one. I needed an external one so I bought one of those. My son-in-law had a child so I bought one for them – all Wansview. After about 9 months one of three camera’s that I had caught a glitch. Damn, oh well that’s life. They aren’t expensive so maybe that’s the way it goes, but actually, let’s try to talk to the people at Wansview and see what they say. A couple of messages later and a download of some updated software installed via the SD card and it’s all working fine again at no cost and all resolved while sitting in my lounge. Now that’s a pleasant surprise.

The quality of the video in both day and low light is great. I use it for my front door. As my street is partially lit I turn the night light function off as the glare against the window obscures the view, but the quality is still good enough in low light.

I like that I can pick my area of motion detection and alter sensitivity. I don’t know if it’s able to detect faces or bodies as opposed to picking up on every light glare or shadow, maybe with the premium subscription, so the motion sensor can be a bit annoying, but still happy to have it.

Love that it has a memory card so no subscription required. Really happy!

I bought one Wanesview camera 2 years ago(ish) loved it. So bought another on Amazon Prime deal. I couldn’t get it to work.
I messaged them. A lot of emails later we cracked the problem. I dealt with the same person each time. Although it took about 8 emails to sort. The sense of achievement and feeling of support was excellent. Well done Luna for your perseverance and getting to the bottom of the issue.
Brilliant low cost camera, with great support if something isn’t right.

I’ve been using this camera for several years now. It is easy and reliable. I love the cloud feature most as I can see activity from my phone when I am away from home, and I can instantly ‘rewind’ to see activity that has already taken place if something looks odd.
The product is great value for money and the customer service is quick and accurate. I always recommend this product as I know actually works. I have several Wansview cameras now for indoor and outdoor. I cannot complain at all.

This camera is excellent. I use it in the nursery for my grand daughter. I hook it over the wardrobe door so the wires are out of reach. The quality is brilliant. The zoom in feature is so clear, and can be rotated up down left and right, so little miss wriggle bum is always in the screen. Was so easy to install onto my phone and I pad.
I also use it to keep an eye on my fur baby too when I’m out.
This really is an excellent camera. The quality is 5* and I think it’s just as good as any tgat are 5miles as much money. I Highly recommend .

Camera came on time and was quite easy to set up. Nice slick design. It came with hook and screws if you wish to mount on a wall. Video quality is good and motion detection is great also. I bought it as pet cam and I wish it would have dual or wireless power option as with having 2 cats hanging cable is a no go for me – they’d play with it and hang on it and disconnect it, which leaves me with on cabinet option which restricts view angle.
App works really well , cloud option bit expensive , but free option is good also.
Overall , for the price I paid – very good value.

We bought two of these cameras after having a bit of trouble with our neighbours. We have one watching the front of the house and one watching the back. We found that only one camera has to have an SD card in with them being on the same network. We can record from both cameras from one SD card installed. Great little cameras. Work very well. Not so much for night vision though which was a little disappointing.

The reason I’ve given 4 stars is the lack of information/instructions it’s a matter of trying things to see how it works. Apart from that seems excellent but as I’ve only had it working fo 4 hours a bit early to tell. But so far so good and great delivery

The camera is wonderful. I bought it as a secondary monitor, for when my baby sleeps in her crib in my room, as she has a monitor fixed above her cot in her room, which she naps in during the day. Having this secondary camera gave me comfort to relax with my husband in the evenings before we headed to bed.

Now that our daughters permanently in her cot, we will either use the camera as a security camera for inside the house, or portable baby monitor for when we are away.

I’ve had 2 of these cameras for like 3 years or so now and honestly I love it. Doesn’t record when there is no movement so makes notifications accurate and means you don’t have to trail through hours of footage. I found this camera was very easy to set up. The range of motion is great. I use the camera with an Amazon basics 128gb microSD card. The functionality of the app is fantastic. Even without a paid subscription you can set up different viewpoints and set the sensitivity of the motion detector. It records short videos if motion is detected and you can download these to your device. It really puts my mind at ease that I can visually check when away from the property. I can view the camera on both my tablet and mobile, and it was easy to set up on multiple devices. I have been using it for a month now, with no issues. This is a really fantastic camera and app, and I’ll definitely be ordering more of these cameras in the future.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSeriously good camera, been using it for around 4 weeks. And the quality is so good. Feeds straight to your phone. You can log into tablets laptops and just have it on if you to have constant view of it as i have a new born and need to hear and see them across the house more easily. Great quality and the night vision is extraordinary. You see just as well in the night vision as you do in the day. Plus there’s a mic to speak into and some other fun features like motion detection that causes 10 second clips to be saved and kept for 24hrs. And all of this is the non paid version. You can get many more perks with the paid version but this sufficed me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally pleased with this indoor security camera. Bought it for my husband’s workshop as he is a little unsteady on his pins, as well as other health issues, in case he has a fall or is taken ill. I can check to see if he’s ok. The bonus of course is the fact that it acts as a security camera too. The pictures are so clear, we are both impressed. After a certain time it switches to infra-red ( pictures are then black and white but equally clear). We’ve now purchased a micro sd card and card reader so we can capture videos. The motion alert is very good as you can see what’s happening frame by frame ( only lasts 24 hours). Fantastic little security camera.

Good quality picture and sound is good too
Only problem is you have to pay 6 a month (free month trial though) to access past footage so unless you only want to watch it live then you will have to pay.
Is a bit of a delay between pressing the controls on your phone and the time it takes the move the camera but aside from that it’s good

Bought this camera as a recommendation from a friend and it really didn’t disappoint! We bought it to keep an eye on our new puppy whilst out at work. It’s absolutely amazing. Set up was super easy and quick, took less that 5 mins. The camera quality is okay, can be a little blurry but for the money you can’t complain at all. Saying that though, the night vision is crystal clear. So could just be the way the lighting is in our home! The sound is both ways and very clear. Can’t recommend this enough and will 100% be being another one for upstairs!!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Wansview WiFi IP Camera is a steal for the price! Super easy to set up and use via the user-friendly app. Even if you’re not a tech whiz, you’ll have no trouble getting it up and running. Great range of features including motion alerts, playback, pan/tilt & zoom, the ability to save favourite positions to quickly switch to them, talk, photo and video capture, plus much more. A bracket for wall or ceiling mounting is also provided.

The audio quality – honestly, it’s not top-notch, but considering the price, it’s totally acceptable. The speaker feature gets the job done, although it’s not super clear. You can still have a conversation or listen in.

As for the picture quality, it could be better, but it’s good enough for most situations. Don’t expect high-definition stuff, but for everyday monitoring, it gets the job done. And again, considering the price tag, I’m not complaining.

To record, you’ll need to buy a separate memory card or sign-up for cloud recording. Cloud recording has three Subscription options and comes with an initial free trial. Each plan offers various add-ons and billing options including annually/monthly/quarterly. The Basic (Standard) plan offers 7-day motion recording for up to 3 devices, the ablity to share a device with up to 5 people, alerts with image previews and the ability to quickly look back through recordings, all for 5.99 per month (or 5.00 per month if billed annually).

If you’re on the hunt for a user-friendly camera that won’t break the bank, the Wansview WiFi IP Camera is a solid choice.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe needed a cheap(ish) camera to monitor our 6 year old dog who is recovering from a major operation on his back leg. I bought this one based (slightly) on the reviews (not always truthful on amazon). I have to say I was delighted with it when it arrived. It was so simple to set up and was up and running on several devices in record time. (In the past with some cameras the set up has been a challenge!)
The picture quality is amazingly sharp and a bonus is that you can use your fingers to enlarge the image being transmitted making it easy for us to see if any licking/nibbling of the wound site was happening. Night vision mode is very good too as is the audio function. Overall I am very impressed with the camera and also the customer service contact Judy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have bought tens of this type of pan tilt IP cameras over the years, unfortunately most of them breaking down within a year or so, or worse, the manufacturer changing the software, so that despite the cameras having an SD memory card slot and the ability to record, some manufacturers like “Yilot” made it so that you cannot access or made it difficult to access your recordings, forcing you buy their “cloud” package, so that you pay every month to view your recordings, making the money you spent on the SD card a total waste as well!
I’m hoping this doesn’t happen with this camera as well, because so far, it has exceeded my expectations completely. For the price, this Wansview camera has an excellent 2K picture, clear and sharp, both in daylight and night modes. It’s IR night mode is is bright and clearer than most other similar cams and the software has all the usual features for moving and controlling the camera. It has 2 nice features that I’m impressed with, the first is a position setting, where you can set your camera in your favourite position and save it. You can then move the camera instantly to that position just by clicking on the link you created! You can create several links for several positions and there’s even a screencap to make it easy to remember. The second feature that I like is the “replay” feature which is available when you use their cloud service (I am trying out their 30 day free tial!), you can instantly replay a live feed directly from the cloud service, something that might actually compel me to register for the cloud service after the trial!
All in all, it’s a great camera for the price, with all the added features and 2K image quality, well worth every penny! Time will tell how long the camera will last, but as of now, it feels and looks like it was well made with pride and I’m hoping it will last a lot longer than most others I bought for a similar price!

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI bought these cameras for monitoring my elderly mother who has dementia, and they have enabled her to continue to live independently. The cameras are virtually silent in operation, which means my mother doesn’t hear them, and choosing black means she doesn’t see them rotate either. They have a very wide range of vision, with good resolution, although better resolution would give greater clarity when zooming in. My favourite feature is the alerts, and I have set these so that I get a smartphone notification whenever my mother enters the kitchen so that I can provide additional support. I do get some false alerts (usually triggered by car headlights) but it’s a small price to pay for her safety. It’s also useful being able to speak to my mother through the camera when she’s struggling, although it takes a little while to get used to toggling the microphone, as we have to take it in turns to speak. Fortunately, my mother doesn’t have to do anything with the camera or microphone herself.
The night vision is excellent, and I have clear visibility of my mother at night, so can see if she has any falls. I can also see the cooker controls in the kitchen, when it’s in total darkness, so can be reassured that everything has been switched off after use.
Set up was relatively easy but it’s helpful to have a bit of technical knowledge as the cameras must be paired with broadband in the property. After downloading the Wansview app to a smartphone, and following the instructions, the cameras talk you through the process (which is a bit alarming when you’re not expecting them to speak!). I’ve configured the app to show four rooms simultaneously in a ‘quad view’ but can easily switch to single rooms. I’ve also linked Wansview to my Alexa Echo Show devices so I can view my mother when I’m watching TV or using the phone or computer. There is a delay when viewing through Alexa devices, and it’s not possible to communicate through them, but they do serve a useful purpose by increasing the duration of monitoring.
It’s possible to give other people access to individual camera feeds, so I’ve been able to share the monitoring with my sister, which has been a great help. I’ve also just spent a week in Austria and it’s incredible that I could hear the app alerts on the ski slopes and continue to check in, and communicate with my mother, despite the absence of Wi Fi.
I’ve had the cameras for over 12 months now, and had a few technical issues, however the customer support has been excellent. I first got in touch with the support team when I discovered it wasn’t possible to orientate the quad view on an iPad. They got their technical team onto it, and issued a software update, so that is now possible. I’ve also had occasional issues when the cameras have lost connection with the server, or when I haven’t been able to view one or more cameras on the Alexa Echo Show. However, the customer support team guided me through the process each time, and the issues are now resolved.
The cameras are very cost-effective and don’t require a cloud subscription if an optional SD card is used (only needed to record 10 second motion detection). In terms of future developments, it would be great if the cameras were able to follow movement around the room, maintain more consistent connection with server, and zoom in with better resolution.

I originally purchased this particular camera to keep a remote eye on my 3D printer, however, I ended up installing it in my (very messy) comms room as means of security.

Out of the box, you get the camera itself, manuals, and an extremely lengthy USB cable, which for me was more than adequate to route from the plug socket around the room to position it onto a shelf above the door.

One of the great things about this camera is that there is the option of mounting this upside down onto the ceiling for example; the settings within the mobile app allows the image view to be inverted (flipped) right-side up.

Initially, I had issues setting this camera up onto my wireless network via 2.4g. I followed the written and verbal instructions several times, but without success – bear in mind that I work in IT and have experience in setting up IOT devices onto wireless networks – although that’s not to say it’s a difficult procedure at all. Overall, setting up and configuring the camera up is pretty easy and is done via Wansview Cloud app on a mobile. It’s not possible to do this via the Mac (and I suspect the Windows) desktop applications.

Cosette from Wansview customer services was absolutely brilliant in helping me diagnose the issue. Communication was great with back and forth email exchanges, and they ultimately determined that I had a faulty unit. A replacement was promptly sent, which connected perfectly first time.

    Features:

Picture quality is really good for this budget 1080p camera. Sure, the quality is not going to be super-fantastic, and/or ultra-crisp compared to a 100+ camera, for instance, but for the price, it’s pretty decent and suits my needs (and more importantly, my wallet) perfectly.

The camera itself has a fish-eye lens, which means that the angle of view is greater of about 105, and therefore you can view more of the area that you are monitoring.

The pan/tilt feature is what prompted me to purchase this particular camera. It has a set rotation range of about 320 horizontally and 80 vertically. The rotation mechanism of the camera is quite smooth, although I wish the amount it steps between rotations would be slightly more sensitive. What is great is that the app contains a function where you can save up to 4 positions and then quickly switch to each of the positions by selecting the one that you want to view.

Night vision, in my opinion, is superb. I can see my entire room when all of the lights are off, which is super handy. The only niggle I have with night vision, is that you can’t turn on/off the night vision mode from one to the other. To do disable night vision, you have to disable ‘Auto night vision’ from the app, and then focus on a light source, to completely disable it. Again, enabling/disabling most functions can only be done using the mobile app and not the desktop versions.

The two-way audio is great too from tests I have done. I rarely use either the microphone or the speaker, simply because I have no need to record or output sound, but like I say, I have tested it and it works as it’s meant to.

I installed a 32Gb card to record any motion events that may occur, and that works fine also – the app informs me when motion has been detected and records the significant event. I don’t have a need for the cloud service that Wansview offer, although I can see how that might be useful and beneficial to others.

    Observations:

One thing I have noticed is the camera can only be configured via the mobile app and not the desktop versions; furthermore, the camera settings option is only available when viewing the device in portrait mode, and not in landscape.

Also, you are only able log into a single device at a time, meaning that you cannot log into the mobile app and a desktop version at the same time – one will always log you out.

    Conclusion:

In conclusion, this is a great little camera for the price, which does everything I need it to. It monitors my comms room 24/7, while alerting me if/when it detects any motion and recording said motion. I have the ability to view about most of the monitored room, taking into consideration the rotation range, which is more than sufficient. the night vision is superb and I am able to see the room in complete darkness. I can rotate the camera easily to saved positions (available on the mobile app only) with a single tap, or choose to manually rotate the camera as I please. Cosette from Wansview customer services has also been excellent in helping me resolve certain issues and has made sure that I am a satisfied customer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great low cost camera

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI have used both the Tapo C200 and Wansview Q5 camera for a while and here is my review of their key differences. Both are of similar external design but the Q5 is slightly smaller (both height and width). Of the two setup of the Q5 is much easier than the C200. For the Q5 scan the QR code in the manual, create a cloud accunt, enter the wifi password and your phone shows a QR code which you point the Q5 at to finish. The C200 requires you to disconnect your phone’s home wifi and data connection and connect to a temporary wifi signal the camera generates.

Both the Tapo and Wansview Android Apps offer similar functions but the Wansview App is the better of the two, it always loads wheras the Tapo one frequently says is unable to connect. Perhaps its because I only have a mid-range phone and not the fastest but the wansview one always connects.

I originally bought a white Tapo C200 and put it on a window cill looking into the garden, but with a double glazed window the reflection of the white camera on the glass when its sunny obscures the view, the black wansview Q5 is much better. The Tapo C200 only seems to come in white. I actually covered mine in black electrical tape – not easy with its dome shape to stop the reflections.

Movement wise the Q5 is able to look down further than the C200, the up movement is about the same.

Night vision on both cameras work well when you are looking inside a room but if you use it to look out a window the IR light is reflected off the double glazing and blinds the camera. The daylight mode switches off the IR light. My garden is illuminated by a street light and whilst both cameras work on daylight mode at nighttime the Tapo C200 image is brighter than that of the Q5.

Both the Tapo and Wansview apps allow you to set motion detection. They seem to work by monitoring the change of light within the monitored image. For example clouds creating a sudden darkening of the colour of the grass create an alarm but they also pick up birds, cats, people etc. Both apps allow you to change the sensitivity of the motion detection. Both apps allow you to select part of the image the camera sees and monitor only that part which is handy to stop false alerts if for example the image also includes a road and you don’t want cars and people moving to set off the alarm, only people entering your garden. The Wansview allows you to select one square/rectangular area within the image that is monitored (you drag it to the size and shape required), the tapo app allows you to add several monitored square/rectangles – usefull if you want to monitor an angular area.

Both cameras allow you the option of saving videos to a microSD card, size up to 128Gb which you purchase separately. With the Tapo C200, if you want to save Videos or view the review reason why an alert was triggered you need to buy a microSD card. The Wansview Q5 will save the video clip – perhaps 10 seconds when motion alert is triggered to the wansview cloud. Alternatively you can have them saved to the microSD card you insert. It will do one or the other, not both. You seem to get a couple of days within which to review the Wansview trigger alerts before they are deleted on the free wansview cloud. Pay extra for longer duration cloud storage. If you see something when you review it you can download it to phone and thereby transfer it to a PC/email etc.
Of the two cameras having video clips sent to the cloud is in my view better than the Tapo which only stores videos on a memory card. As if a burgular breaks in and steals the camera then you loose the video, whereas when its on the cloud its secure. Tapo do not offer a cloud storage option.

If you use a microSD card buy a fast one otherwise only SD and not HD video will be saved.

Both cameras allow you to remotely connect to them and view live current video, and both also let you use the apps to adjust the cameras’s movement. Their is only digital zoom – pinch to expand a section of the image, which of course decreases the quality of the resolution.

Video recording. Both apps allow you to set the time period when you want the camera to record (either 24/7 or set start/stop times). The C200 allows you to both set continuous record and also send you motion detection alerts. The Wansview Q5 doesn’t have the option of continuous record it only records short video clips when the motion detection is triggered.

Both cameras have positive and negative aspects but in my opinion the Wansview better app, black colour option and cloud storage of motion triggered videos make it the better option.

I bought this camera as I was curious to find out what my dogs did whilst left alone in the house (turns out it’s nothing exciting!) and I wasn’t prepared to pay big money for a camera if it wasn’t going to work. Here is what I found…

Firstly You need to have a power socket nearby for the camera to function.

The set up was easy. Although, I had an issue where the app on my phone (android) wasn’t showing me any images or connecting to the camera, and it gave me a couple of error messages. However on my husband’s phone (apple) it was all running smoothly. I sent a couple of messages to customer support about the issues, but whilst waiting for a response (about 5 days over a weekend) I upgraded my old phone, and installed everything onto my new phone (Android again) and it works fantastic with no issues.

Customer support couldn’t have been any nicer. The advice they gave me wasn’t relevant anymore as my new phone was working well with the app and the camera, but they still took the time to check in on my progress to see if any other issues had occurred (which they haven’t so far) .

    PICTURE QUALITY
The image is so clear and smooth, but there is a just little lagging if an object/person/dog is moving at a quick speed, however for this little camera it is still an impressive quality, and unless someone comes to the door then everyone seems to move at a normal speed which the camera is more than capable of playing back to you in real time.
The camera moves side to side, up and down allowing me to follow the dogs around the room to see what mischief they are trying to cover up.
Whilst you are sat in the room, unless you are watching the camera intently and that the camera is being moved all the way to one direction – then you aren’t aware that you are being monitored or that it is moving. It makes no sound. From the spectator on the app however, you can hear and see very clearly that the camera is working it’s way around the room.
The night vision on this Q5 was quite the unexpected surprise. We have no street lights to give off any light in the room where our camera is set up, so when all the lights in the house were switched off and we checked the camera, the image again was very clear you would think a light was installed in the camera to aid with the image feedback. You could pick up every detail in the room so clearly. Again, surprising great quality from what I thought was a budget camera.

The audio on this camera, for me, is very impressive. It’s so sensitive that I can actually hear the dogs on the move before I see them on the camera (I have wooden flooring). Today when I checked in, I could hear some sort of feedback only to realise that where I have positioned the camera, it was picking up the sound of the rain hitting the house and windows! Super hearing!

I try not to use the audio feature as it upsets the dogs (1 knows the voice is coming from the camera, the other can’t figure it out) However the audio is clear, but bear in mind that there is a delay when using this feature as you have to record your message first, then it will send it through the camera. I also noticed that if having a two-way conversation via the camera, if you choose to record a message whilst the other person is also trying to speak to you through the camera, the sound is cut off so all you are receiving is the image feedback with no sound. Again, for what I thought was a low budget camera, the quality of it all is impressive.

The app can allow for up to 4 cameras – needless to say I WILL be adding additional cameras to cover a couple other areas in and around the house.

I fully recommend this camera to my family and friends and anyone considering this camera – purchased one for my mother so she can keep an eye on her oven and cooking hobs (funny story involving her nearly burning down the house twice in one week)

MY ADVICE IS BUY THE CAMERA. At this price you cant go wrong with it. The quality far outweighs what you’d expect to pay for, and it certainly gives us peace of mind knowing that we can yell at the dog anytime he even things about chewing something he shouldn’t be!
