Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this item to pump dirty water from garden feature.
Like everything, pumps well, cheap and appears well made
Did not attach to support board. Tried without and just held pump and drill. No problem.

Bought this to help transfer water from a water butt to holding tanks ( some old wheelie bins ). I use a Bosch battery drill for this operation and it works perfectly.

I had a bad experience with a cheap one of these drill pumps. But this Wolfcraft one does the job very well. It has power and it appears to be well made and it takes standard 13mm hosepipe.
It states that a corded electric drill is required but my Einhell cordless drill worked very well. I mounted it on a piece of thick wood and then added a thin piece of wood to lay the drill on to give it a bit of height to meet the spindle.

I’m planning to use this to pump out a small pond, and also use it to pump from my garden water butts, using my cordless drill.
I need to mount it on a board using the fixings suppled with it, plus some clear half inch hose, which I have to get.
I’m confident it will work fine when I have set up. Its a Wolfcraft produc

Got my first one back about 8 years ago. Burnt that out a month back and just got a replacement. I use it to move water between water butts in the garden. Simple cheap product.

I used this to pump out my water feature for the winter to avoid the reservoir freezing and damaging it. Used a cordless drill and it did the job perfectly.

Brilliant product. Bought one to see if it would pump oil while servicing machines and it does perfectly.

So good in fact I now have a pair of these in the van, one for clean oil and one for waste oil.

What a great pump! For some reason I got the impression it’d be ok with flammable liquids but it turns out the instructions say “No”. However I had little choice as the fuel needed immediate transferral, so I screwed it to a board, connected my drill and hoses and fired it up. It self-primed in about 3secs and shifted about 100lit in half an hour- that included frequent stopping to check for overheating which wasn’t an issue, the pump remained stone cold throughout. The feed hose was about 2m long, output hose about 1m with about 1m head. I highly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCould have earned 5 stars if the picture on the packaging and instructions didn’t show different directions of rotation. Why not just put clear arrow on the product?? Otherwise handy little pump with which I topped up my solar panels.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHad this item for sometime now. It has been used 3 times first time was for clearing out the standing water after a water leak.
2 other times for emptying cistern/tanks on macerator toilet.
The item is very compact and lightweight, I ended up fixing mine to a piece of marine ply to keep it sturdy when in use.
Be mindful that you his can only be operated for a certain amount of minutes at a time as it is made from abs plastic and will get hot under load for lengthy periods and possibly fail.
You could spend a lot more money and get better quality equipment but for the smaller domestic jobs this works very well.

Takes a bit of getting used to in terms of direction of flow and drill rotation, and it is a small unit (so you must attach it to a decent board). However it does the job well generating a good flow with pressure as advised and when run for a fair few minutes with a small Bosch PSB battery drill, it was the drill warming up that I needed to stop for.

Powerful little pump great for those little jobs . If your looking for something to install more permanent then you will need to spend more money. If you want something to pump at clean drinking water standards then you will have to pay much more . This pump is ideal for pumping up water and sediment etc . Easily attaches to your drill. Full safety instructions on how it should be set up for use. There is a more powerful version if needed but the basic one provided enough lift and flow for my use. It is entirely up to yourself if you use this pump hand held with a drill, instructions are clear enough and there are also markings on the pump for direction of water flow and direction of drill. So i have no idea what some reviewers are complaining about.

Bought this after seeing it on the plumberparts youtube channel. Had used it twice within a week, it’s a brilliant piece of kit. Attach a length of standard garden hose (just cut to size with a stanley knife) to each end and attach your drill chuck (cordless would be best) to the hex piece.

Used it to remove a huge amount of gunk from the bottom of a central heating feed and expansion tank and then again to remove the water from a toilet bowl before removal. Both lovely jobs, but otherwise the only options are a wet vac or a sponge! Powerful motor, did the job with ease. Every plumber or diy enthusiast needs one of these in their kit bag! (Marked down on stability because you need to hold it down or screw it down… but that’s a minor inconvenience really)

Thought Wolf tools generally good quality-the Germans generally don’t make any rubbish. Beware this pump is packed with grease so no good for drinking water (caravanners to note). I admit to struggling a bit to get the pump to self-prime at first and thought I’d bought a ‘pup’ but it does need a decent length of outlet pipe and a drill going quite fast to get it working. Maybe needs some back pressure on the outlet? Once running it did an admirable job on an18V Li-ion drill no problem. You can’t turn the shaft manually by hand and the grease packing needs to be reduced by running hot water through it first. It’s cheap but not nasty and would be better with ptfe dry bush bearings for potable water use but you can’t have everything for a tenner! Has to be board mounted for stability. Just go and buy one it’s a great little gadget.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI got this for emptying my Bestway spa. I wanted to use the old water to fill up several water butts to use on the garden (after chlorine has evaporated). This little pump is ideal. I pumped the water through 10 metres of hose and uphill by about a metre. The flow was easily as fast as a tap tuned on full (though that will depend on your drill) and it didn’t take long to empty the spa. I was a bit concerned that my drill wouldn’t be happy to run continuously but it seems fine. I checked it wasn’t getting hot at intervals (and the pump as well). I’ve knocked a star off because it’s maybe not ideal to leave an electric drill running unattended – be careful when you devise a method of securing it and of course using water and electricity in close proximity needs care. I got the pump to sit securely on a thick wooden board using the 2 screw holes then fiddled around with offcuts to make a cradle for the drill – it took a bit of trial and error to make sure the drill shaft was exactly lined up and the whole thing held firmly. I used the drill’s front handle to counteract the torque. I then used some wire mesh to make a cage around the spinning bits to prevent anything getting in there and set it up off the ground where it wouldn’t get wet if, for example, the hose connector worked loose. If there are children around you certainly need to make sure they can’t get near while it’s running! I’d suggest having 2 people around if you’re pumping the water over any distance so you can switch off (with dry hands!) before whatever you’re emptying runs dry, or whatever you’re filling overflows!

First impression on unpacking is disbelief: how can this tiny object do what it claims? But it does! Admirably!

My problem was a small room that horse’s the pump and filter for my pool, 3 metres underground and with no provision for drainage. It had taken in about 5cm of water which I needed to remove. None of the dirty water pumps I could find locally would remove such a small amount of water and the clean water pumps were too expensive to risk running on the murky stuff I had down there. In desperation I turned to Amazon and this popped up first in my search. I was a bit doubtful but at that price it seemed worth trying.

It did the job brilliantly. As other reviewers have mentioned it comes clogged up with grease but the instructions explicitly state that this should be cleaned with hot water before first use – so no problem. Initially I attached a filter to the inlet, but it didn’t seem to be able to suck water through the filter so I removed it. The pump happily sucked up bits of leaves and other junk with the water, with no apparent Ill effects. So, problem solved. Very cheaply.

This pump is actually great, I’m currently on my third one, not because they break but simply because you have to be careful with them. The 5 year guarantee doesn’t really cut it because if it becomes even slightly blocked or runs dry for even a few seconds it can burn out. To make this amazing device work well you need to:

    1. Ensure that you don’t put your drill on too fast incase it runs dry, after getting a flow adjust the drill speed to a consistant flow.
    2. Regrease and or prime the pump after each use.
    3. Ensure your supply pipe is short enough to get a feed into the pump within 30 seconds.
    4. Blow down and clear your exit pipe if you stop and then restart pumping to reduce the start up pressure.

Seriously is a great product, my current ones been running almost non-stop for 3 days, but take the steps above to keep it in working order.

I needed a pump to drain the water tank of a Narrowboat. Problem was that the only easy access was a filler with only a 2″ hole. So most pumps, being submersible , would not fit.

This seemed a toy for the job as I needed to move almost a ton of water, but as the reviews of this device were good, for about 7 I thought it worth a gamble.

As a precaution I fitted a Jabsco pump guard filter (cost about 12 from any marine or caravan chandler ) which also uses half inch hosepipe connections. I am not sure if this was necessary though

A piece of scrap timber as a base, two lengths of old hose pipe and away we went .

The instructions say that a drill of at least 600 watts power is needed. I used one of only 500watt, admittedly only needing to move liquid through four or five foot of height . Drill showed no straining or overheating – indeed it stayed cool throughout .
Only problem encountered was to keep the inlet hose at the bottom of the tank, it being somewhat curly and prone to come to the surface. To solve this I simply put the hose inside a spare three foot length of plastic domestic half inch waterpipe which accepts half inch hosepipe perfectly. I drilled a few holes around the bottom rim of the pipe.
Made the enire rig in under half an hour. Total cost, inc pump, filter etc under 20.

Emptied the tank in under an hour, so the claimed 1300 litres per hour is probably accurate .

Much interest in the Marina, and several boaters lost money on betting it would not do the job.

We only drain this tank once year, but normally it’s a slow job.
Next year I will only take me an hour at most .

Job Done. Economically ,easily and safely.

    A Good Product .

I bought this pump because I had a problem with a blocked drain and flooding. It works well and the flow seems to be pretty good too. In the end, the amount of water I needed to drain made this pump impractical for a couple of reasons: 1300 litres and hour seems impressive, but that depends on the drill you are using and the speed that it runs. I would be loathe to run an expensive drill continuously for an hour or more and I drained rechargable drills every 10 – 15 minutes, quicker than I could re-charge them. This pump is probably good for a large fish tank or a small garden pond, but for large volumes of water requiring it to run for a long time, it is impractical. nevertheless, it works well and for anything up to a couple of hundred litres a good and reliable product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought the pump in October 2010, but did not use it until 11 months later. It successfully emptied a rather murky garden pond. The only problem I had was the nozzle on the end of the outlet hose blocking. Nothing to do with the pump, which seems to handle gritty sediments easily. After I removed the hose attachment it worked fine.

The instructions were a bit puzzling. On the display card it pictures a power drill with “min. 600 W, max. 2,800 RPM”. However I used it with an old 550 Watt Black & Decker rated at 2,600/3,000 RPM. It didn’t seem to matter which speed I chose, although I switched to the lower one after noticing the instruction. Other instructions are in pictures only, for instance showing the pump “min. 1 m” from the water. However, I suspect that this is merely a safety precaution to lessen the risk of the power drill falling in a pond!

It seems to be a well made little pump, and has a five year guarantee.
