Good quality for money. Fish tasting & smelling water after it’s done doing what it’s suppose to do bc of the breakdown of the water through the filter, it’s normal. Lasts long!
We usually get around 3-4 months out of each filter. We can tell when the filter is ready to be changed because the water gets a weird tang to it. But these filters really work well.
Our city water is 165 PPM. We’ve been using these for years and they work well and the water tastes great. However, the filtration slows a lot when it gets to about 1 PPM, to the point the pitcher won’t fill past 1/3 full, no matter how much we fill the reservoir.
Zero water filter are really good ~! They make water taste really good and they last quite a while. I will continue to by them here as long as the price remains fair.
I brought 2 refills and this one came up reading 24 after I put it in a filtered some water. That never happened before. SO I want to make sure this batch of filters is good for at least 12 months.
The water from this filter tastes great until the filter stops working. In hard water areas, the filter stops working much quicker than in soft water areas. I use it primarily when camping because the water available doesn’t always taste very good. It saves us space over having to buy bottled water and eliminates the hassle of going to stores to get more bottled water, but is far more expensive.
This filter works great and water feels clean & crisp. My comparison is from Brita so I feel it’s a huge upgrade.
Although, the filters are almost twice the size of Brita filters and they are double the price!
Overall, considering high price I would still recommend as water quality is much better then Brita plus this also filters forever chemicals.
My water was reading about 280 wnd after the refrigerator filter about 190. Using this it’s at 000 wnd appears to do what is expected. Some complaints about the filter being slow. It’s going to be slower but its nothing to complain about imo.
I own three twelve cup zero water pitchers. I typically use one to filter the water from the kitchen sink city water supply then pour the filtered city water into the other two 12 cup pitchers. Doing this extends the filtering life of the two pre filtered city water filters and yes it shortens the filter life of the one pitcher’s filter life. I’ve been following this procedure for well over a year now and compared to using all three pitchers to filter the city water I’ve saved a substantial $$ and the bottom is I’m providing my family with the best water possible not only for drinking purposes but cooking as well.
I’ve been using a Zero Water pitcher for years. I got it in Costco. I been buying the filters here on Amazon since I have had the pitcher. These aren’t cheap, but you do get a better price buying the 12 pk. They work well, although I wish they didn’t get that nasty fishy taste when it is time to replace one. Apparently, that is a common issue for any of these filter. For that, I’m taking away a star.
I like locker room. I don’t like thefts inside my building. I used boiling water in coffee pot, refrigerated in metal and thermos for heart piece before and after daily consumptions.
Have been using ZeroWater for years and will only purchase authentic replacement filters.
Very easy to use, clean water that tastes good. Much better than bottled water.
I’ve been using ZeroWater Filtration Pitcher’s for 5+ years and have better quality Water, especially Taste/Leadless. The 5stage filters are All they claim to be. The price keeps increasing but what hasn’t. I would recommend for household’s with HARDWATER without softener s as drinking water.
We use these filters constantly and would never do without.
Work better than the aftermarket brand, but getting over priced
The product is top notch when you get optimal filters, unfortunately, I ordered a 6 pack and used two, then on the third, I tasted essentially tap water. We tested it and it tested at the normal rate of 054, I had two deficient filters in the same 6 pack. However, Amazon is refunding and I will still be ordering another 6. The product is exceptional and with customer service like that, no reason to differentiate.
The Zero Water accessories thst come with these are not great. However the filters work well.. I use a TDS meter to see if my filter needs replacement. I have a lot of Ca in my water so this beats junk flavored tea or coffee and scale on my kettles. I don’t get a lot of gallons out on one of these, maybe ten or fifteen but it beats buying distilled water. Don’t bet on using a TDS meter other than to tell when to change the filter as I have not found them to be accurate. I made a filter by cutting a hole from a plastic ice-cream tub that fits the screw threads on the end of the filter. A little food grade silicon and I can run water thru it. Wallah! Good tasting coffee. If these keep increasing in price though I will try something different. Maybe tear one of the used filters apart and o a refill. By the way, you can calibrate a TDS meter, sort of, by boiling a liter of water down to a teasponfull or smaller and weigh the result. A little math and parts per million just falls out.
Greatly improved the taste of our tap water. We did have one issue with a defective filter though.
I’m not sure if these are actually from Zero Water. Because I sure had to tighten them many times because they would leak from the screwed area. And the filter I received with my container I didn’t have a problem. It didn’t leak like these filters. 🙁
After trying out various filters and methods, I purchased the zero water filter. It’s shape makes storage easy, the water filters through at reasonable speed and the tap is well positioned very low down so as to avoid water sitting for ages at the bottom. The replacement filters are a bit expensive but offset by the affordable cost of the unit.
I recommend this produc
I really like the product but after testing it for a couple of months I think it’s cheaper to buy the distilled water at Target for $1.20 a gallon. The reading is only good for the first 5-6 gallons, then it goes higher quickly. After 2-3 weeks the whole tank and the water smell fishy. My advice is to filter as many gallons as you can in 1-2 days to bring the best quality water out. You can continue to use it for washing or watering your indoor plants before the fishy smell comes out.
The water in my city is undrinkable in my opinion. I use the Zero Water filter for my own drinking and also for my numerous house plants. The filters work very well, and the TDS tester that comes with the pitcher tells me when it’s time to change filters.
These filters normally allow the water to pass through within 3- 5 minutes. In the last year I have found that sometimes a new filter will work well for a few times, then something changes and it takes hours for the water to pass through the filter. The TDS tester shows that the filter is still working, but now it’s working very slowly, which is really inconvenient and not what I’m used to.
The price of these filters is rising, so now I pay more for a box of filters which may or may not contain a few poorer quality filters.
I worked at a place that triple filtered the water and it tasted amazing -the people who say water doesn’t have flavor haven’t lived in a place that has old pipes and hard water. Buying jugs of water from the store wasn’t the same when I didn’t have it, and it wasn’t sustainable.
I researched the best system and was recommended this, as well as it getting stellar reviews. I was not let down! I used the electric tester on the water I put in it and got a 189 or so reading, and got a 0 reading after filtering it. HUGE taste difference, as well. I drink a lot a water… After about 3 months, I noticed the taste changed, tested the water and realized I needed a new filter.
Purchasing the refill filters is not only reducing the waste, but much more cost effective; The water tank is slim and fits well in my tiny living space; the quality of water is high.
TLDR, I highly recommend this product if you are looking a cost effective solution to get great tasing water that is the most sustainable solution… However, have not tested it next to Berkey. I guess I can update after I do since now I have access to one.
i have read many reviews about the zero water products and thought i would add my two cents. i,ve used zero water for over 2 years now and am happy with the results i get. the main thing i think is turning people off is a bad taste and smell after a week or two of use. the reason for this is that the filter sits in the pitcher of water for too long. the impurities are drawn into the filter but due to the filter sitting below the water level, that allows the the dirty filter to contaminate the whole batch of water. my solution was to buy a 2 gallon or so glass jar with a spigot at the bottom and store my filtered water in it. about every 4 or 5 days i make a batch of water with the zero water pitcher and pour it into the jar for daily use. that way i keep my pitcher and filter dry till the next time the jar runs low. i consistently get a month or so of water out of each filter this way. your results may differ due to how good your tap water is to start with. another complaint i see is people that think they are getting used filters because there is water dripping from them. i see no way to unseal the plastic bag, use the filter and then get it back in the bag without damaging the beg. i suspect there is something in the manufacturing process where water gets into the filters as i have had many filters with a few drops of water coming from them and they work perfectly fine. so my humble opinion is that the zero water system is a good product and i hope this review helps you.
