As a vinyl record collector, it was time to standardise my outer sleeves on my LPs and 12″ singles to make them look a little more pleasing to the eye when display. These have been the ticket, good quality thick plastic and beautifully clear. I Found other sleeves split at the seems over time but these are holding nicely. I have bought about three pack of these so far and will be defiantly purchasing more as my collection grows.
Been collecting vinyl since the mid-seventies and decided to replace all of the PVC sleeves with these, as they aren’t PVC.
PVC leeches plasticiser over time and this causes the album sleeves to dis-colour and become sticky. I was just in time for some of the albums with glossy sleeves, as they were starting to bond well and truly to the PVC covers. Much longer and they wouldn’t have been removable without severe damage.
I’ve bought 400 up to now as decided to ‘bag’ every album now I’ve started. Reckon I’ll need a few more packets yet.
Does what it says and you get lots of them for the price. I will say the sides do bust open with slight use. Obviously though I’d rather the sleeve to bust open over the actual vinyl packaging being damaged so I can cope with that. Would order them again.
Some gatefold triple albums are a very tight fit, given that if that wasn’t so then slim single disc albums would be a very sloppy fit, the balance is right.
I am going through a “falling in love again” with vinyl period. I realised I had not kept some of my old albums in the best conditions. So I have 400 of these now covering the outside of my LP collection , old and new. They make reading the edge lining titles a bit hard, the only downside . They actually make some of the sleaves look brighter and newer. I am really very happy with these and now looking at their inner antistatic liners to complement. A happy customer here.
I can see these lasting for some time. They were slightly smaller than I was expecting, which is great as most of my vinyl are single LPs or double-gatefolds. They feel smooth, are quite thick and have a frosted look to them, but this becomes almost fully transparent when a vinyl is in the sleeve. I was concerned it would be worse but very happy with the appearance.
My only criticism at this stage is that the first five or so sleeves at the bottom of the stack of 100 have dirt embedded into the plastic, which could imprint dents into vinyl sleeves. As I’m growing a collection of cheap house music to DJ with, I’ve opted to use these there and reserve the remaining, perfectly clean sleeves for other genres with more expensive records.
I store vinyl either spine facing out in the room or downwards, but all these sleeves will have the opening at the back against the wall. This is so the spine is clearer to read and prevents dust entering as it becomes effectively sealed.
Will definitely be coming back for more when I need them!
