Always like to have a bottle of this handy. I love the smell. Thought this was a good price and it arrived very quickly. Will definitely think of reordering when I need to.
This is an old favourite, especially in the summer – but it sometimes difficult to get hold of. I was very pleased to get a large bottle for a relatively low price.
I love this scent for everyday wear. It is light and fresh. Does it last overlong but it’s cologne not perfume.
The bottle is absolutely huge! I have decanted some into a small plastic spray bottle which is handier.
tom ford neroli alternative.
4711 is a classic, a 300 year old cologne that has stud the test of time.
fresh, soapy and citrusy. smells like you have just got out of the shower, perfect for summer.
not so long lasting but is great for its price.
it smells very similar to tom ford neroli protafino but wont break the bank.
a must have for any perfume collectors or someone new to perfume.
Reminds me of my childhood. Does feel cooling, and great on temples for a headache. Doesn’t last long but that was expected, and last long enough for me and how I use it. Very difficult.to open bottle though – had to wrap lid in tissue then use pliers to unscrew!
4711 has been around for years and is really lovely. I adore perfume and this has always been one of my favourites. It also has so many other uses — can you put some into your hands and run it through your hair after washing — it smells wonderful! Put a few drops onto your pillow and it soothes you to sleep with it’s lovely aroma that has got hints of lavender. Add a few drops to potpourri and it also refreshes it. You can even add a few drops to a cotton wool pad and put it in your underwear drawer as well. Honestly, it’s a lovely scent that is just so fresh and uplifting.
I got this for my sisters birthday on requested and she really likes it. She says it’s not too strong but the scent lasts for quite a while. Apparently refreshing to use on a hot days as well. (Though Lord knows how she knows this as it’s month since we had a hot day!)
My wife got her first 4711 when she was 14 yrs old, a present from the vicar, who went holidaying in France and brought a bottle back for all the choir girls. She is now 86 and has used it ever since. She still has her first bottle, kept as a momento. So thought it would be nice for you to hear the story behind her 4711.
Actually, she hasnt used a spray before but is certain it will be as good as the ‘dab behind the ears’ bottle.

Very nice cologne, with the classic 4711 scent. Smells refreshing, & leaves a light lingering scent on the skin. It actually smells rather expensive, not like some of the more modern scents & perfumes, which smell cheap, & very often, can be rather nasty.

My mum wore 4711 in the 1970s summer months so I thought I would give it go. It is a wonderful classic fragrance. I am currently going through the menopause and it is lovely refreshing rescue remedy to cool down during the hot flashes. Plus a added bonus it is cruelty free.
This is a classic product I have used for many years. 4711 was worn by many generations of my family especially my Victorian grannie, great aunt and great uncle all used this cologne which has been on the market since 1792 It is a lightly fragranced cologne suitable for both sexes although it has a masculine smell. It’s particularly good after shaving. This is my daily aftershave and I get many compliments about it. My Wifelette also likes the fragrance which is an added bonus. As for the price, it is considerably cheaper here than on the high street. I decant the cologne into a plastic atomiser which makes it easier to use and I think more economical, although at these prices you can be fairly liberal!. I suffer from occasional migraines, and I find 4711 cool stick, also available here comforting when rubbed liberally on the forehead and temples. Again it is cheaper than many menthol sticks available from a chemist, and it lasts just as long. I can recommend this product, which has, by the way been around 1792, I wonder how many modern, overpowering mens fragrances will stand the test of time.
My mum’s a 4711 nut – since a trip to Cologne many years ago. Don’t blame her. It’s a lovely spritzy scent and a fraction of the cost of much more stylised offerings using much the same base. What’s lovely about this latest scent, one of several, is it has the distinctive scent but with the added charm of jasmine. It’s not overly obvious and is all the better for the subtlety. You can’t miss or mistake it. Almost kept this bottle back for myself but relented – and the good news is my brother is buying the other new 4711 scents for Ma for her 85th birthday.
Not a spray bottle
Lovely scent, however I didn’t not receive a spray rather just a glass bottle with a spout. I paid a bit extra for an atomiser bottle so I am a bit disappointed
A throwback to my father who used to take this everywhere it was hot. Bought some for a holiday and its really refreshing to put around your neck and wrists.. and the benefit is we all smelt nice too!
I’ve bought this as a Christmas present for my Mum. She is 74 years old and has worn this perfume from it first being released.
It has a fresh, crisp citrus smell and once applied lasts for the majority of the day.
I believe this is a classic perfume and would appeal to all ages.
TLDR:
+ Amazing and refreshing scent, perfect for summers.
+ Great as an aftershave or for bed linen.
– Poor performance, but to be fair that’s not what this is intended for.
I absolutely love this scent, reminds me of a barber shop for some reason. This is a light and sparkly neroli that’s perfect for warmer weather, unfortunately this cologne concentration does not last long on my skin—I get 30 minutes to an hour maximum, so I use this almost exclusively as an aftershave. Amazing scent though!
For those complaining, is not an EDT or EDP, it’s a cologne splasher so don’t expect long lasting performance from it—that’s not the point. If you want a similar neroli fragrance that lasts a bit longer, check out Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino.
Great delivery time. Cute bottle excellent for traveling. The scent is not as strong as I would expect but give a subtle hint of fragrance to freshen up. 4711 is wonderful.

I really love the smell of this scent – I’m a fan of citrus scents, and the citrus of this, combined with the bergamot and peach make it truly refreshing. It’s also a classic scent, so it might also speak to the memory side of your brain!
This bottle gives a good amount. However, the neck of the bottle is so small that you can pretty much tip it upside down and nothing comes out. Applying it to the skin this way does not therefore give enough scent to last – I feel it stays for a few short hours. I find that decantering into an atomizer makes a difference, as you can spray more onto you over a larger area. The difficulty is that you can’t simply pour the liquid from the bottle into the atomizer because the neck is so slim, so I’ve been siphoning it into the atomizer with an extremely slim straw (which is, unfortunately, shorter than the bottle, so I’m going to have to find another solution once I use up enough to make the remaining liquid unattainable..).

We first saw this on one of Michael Portillo’s Continental Railway Journeys. The interview with the firm, his description of the scent and the reaction of people he tried it on, made us interested in trying it ourselves. We expected it to be really expensive but when we looked on Amazon the prices were much better than we feared.
This smells lovely – it’s got a real citrus tang to it and it wakes your senses but still leaves you feeling calm. Both of us use it and it smells good on both of us. The bottle is easy to hold (if a little big for a woman with small hands). We pour it into our hand and then rub it into our body. The scent doesn’t last all day but then it isn’t meant to and it’s easy enough to put some more on your neck and wrists.
I see us continuing to buy this and other 4711 items into the future.
