Ill give full stars but the 1/2 wrench must been made on Friday cause the ratchet part is backwards vs the rest of the wrenches but it still works as should just use it loosen to tighten and tighten to loosen and seems very tight hard get on bolt or nut but does work rest of them work fine and the correct way so must been made on Monday lol

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have always been impressed with the whole Amazon Basics range. Available in two ranges, I went for the range with the smaller diameters. Available in imperial / BSA as well as metric (presumably for the US market). Quality of finish was in a polished chrome stainless steel. The ratchet mechanisms worked well with little ‘slack’ or backlash. I think these represent excellent value for money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWell I was sceptical but these are pretty good. Amazing value. Bought to tide me over until I drop for a expensive set. As long as you don’t use for breaking loose stuck or rusted stuff you should be fine.

The only issue I noticed after using a few times is that these are overall bigger than a regular wrench. In many situation, might be a little harder to fit than a regular wrench, but I do understand that it has to be bigger because of ratchet. So like any other tool, use it where it is more useful.

If you need a good set of spanner’s for the odd job you won’t regret buying these.

I needed cheap set of spanners for occasional use. They have done what I need this time. The storage box is fab, keeps the spanners together, small and nea

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNo marks for durability yet as I’ve not had them for long enough. They helped me with a fiddly job on my Nissan x trail brakes and held up to a good amount of welly. Not bad all things considered.
    Pros. Good ratchet and strong.
    Easy to use
    Handy storage holder included
    Price
Cons. Maybe not as tough as the premium brands but look at the price.

Item arrived promptly and has been used. So far wrenches have proved to be good at what they are meant to do. Time will tell how robust they are!

My 17 year old son wanted this for Xmas. He started using it without any issue and really liked the easy to see measurements and how it handled when used on his bike.

Have been using for a while now and for the price they are good for hobbyist, if you were a professional user not sure if they would be robust enough.

AmazonBasics Ratcheting Wrench Set – Metric, 5-Piece

    In the pack.
You get 5 spanners, 10mm, 11mm, 13mm, 14mm, and 15mm. One end is a rachet type opening and the other a traditional horseshoe shaped.

    Quality.
They are very well made and strong. They are made from chrome and vanadium alloy. They are well finished. The rachet mechanism is strong and positive.

    In use.
Once you have used ratchet spanners you will be loathed to go back to ordinary opened ended ones. They are so quick to use and don’t slip — no more red knuckles! There are very useful with all the common sizes in the set. The only size I would have liked to have added would be a 12mm.

    Overall.
A nice set, well made and very strong. Very happy with these.

I ordered these because the spanners we currently have are down in my husband’s workshop. If I want to tighten the rear view mirror on my mobility scooter I have to ask him for the spanners so he has to walk down the garden and back and then repeat to put them away. I’ve had to whisk the two spanners I need out of the way because he was eyeing the set and saying what good quality they are. I know exactly where the others will end up lol. They’re spanners, and I don’t really know what is good or bad about spanners but here goes from my perspective:

    – they look nice, all shiny (sorry, couldn’t resist)
    – they come in a carry frame that keeps them all together and makes it easy to find the one you want
    – They have one open end and one closed end with a ratchet, so it makes it really easy to undo or do up your nuts and bolts
    – there are five spanners ranging in 1mm increments from 10mm to 15mm
    – they work, no more loose wing mirror for me

And that’s about as much as I can say. Happy to recommend this se

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe AmazonBasics ratchet 12-point metric ring-spanners come in a short set with only five sizes: 10mm, 11mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, but omitting the very commonly used 12mm. The sizes are correct. I would have preferred 6-point rings in the usual full set of twelve.

Every now and then nothing else can do the job, especially in an awkward and confined space, and on those rare events this type of spanner is a delight to use, saving so much time. A set like this might well pay for itself on the first occasion one used it.

The clip holds them well in normal use.

The ratchet is a basic fine spring-click, about five degrees between clicks, and to reverse the action one needs to turn over the spanner. Being simple there is less to go wrong, which is good. But being so fine it is weaker than a coarser ratchet and so more likely to succumb to over-enthusiastic exertion.

Bear in mind that no ratchet system can take the full torque of a solid spanner, so a normal solid ring or socket should always be used to start undoing a stiff nut or to finish tightening it.

Last year I bought the more usual full set of twelve going from 8mm to 19mm, excellent spanners but only after cleaning out and re-lubricating some of the smaller ratchets. This five piece set seems to be OK in this respect.

This is a neat set of ratcheting spanners that will come in useful for years. They’re appear to be strongly manufactured from vanadium steel with a high chrome polish. They should , therefore, resist rust and dirt well. The set has five spanners (10, 11, 13, 14 and 15mm sizes) held in an excellent folding case that has a built-in hanging loop for keeping organised in my workshop. The ratchet mechanism in each is smooth and they have not broken so far after some quite tough loosening and tightening tests on my bike. So, for the nice quality and thoughtful storage, I regard these as very good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well designed tools in a neat storage case.
