I was a bit worried purchasing a recon laptop but needn’t have been! Its excellent! Great size screen, very easy to set up and no problems at all with it and saved myself a fair amount of money compared to buying a new one
Wow! Goodbye Microsoft!
I’ve been delighted with this 139 laptop. Why did I ever pay the inflated prices of Windows machines? At first sight, this is a cut-down machine with fewer keys on the keypad. There are no delete, copy, print-screen, or Windows keys, but all the remaining keys are useful and I soon learned to use backspace, ctrl C, ctrl P, etc. instead.
Asus Chromebook
The Asus Chromebook, is a very nice laptop. I bought a mouse to use with it, I can’t deal with touchpad.
It’s a fast performer, to be sure. I like checking my emails with this machine. Also the sound quality of this laptop pleases me very much. Put headphones on to listen to Radio 2, is pleasurable. I haven’t had it for long, But I’m truly impressed with it.
Its good for surfing the net as i haven’t used the google Chromebook before it takes a bit of getting used to overall its fast and reliable and a great price
Got this for 139 with payments over 6 months. 21-11-23.
I charged it straight away and you will know when it’s charged as the light goes from red to white.
2 minutes to set up and if I can set it up then anyone can set it up.
For a capital letter – press shift and your letter – easy.
For stuff you can’t find straight away – press on the time, bottom right off your screen and that will take you to where you need to go.
Camera – very good. Volume is not the best but it’s not poor either. I charged it last night and it’s still on near full capacity, 12 hours later. Granted, I wasn’t on it much but still good to know.
I won’t need to have my desktop on all day now saving on the electric bill.
I go to a caravan park twice a year with no internet access. As far as I’m aware, I can transfer my mobile data on to this laptop – perfect.
If you’re a parent and you’re not rich then as a child I would be very happy if I was opening this on Christmas Day but that’s just my opinion.
I was tempted to get an Apple laptop at 799 for my first laptop but I thought – why? I’ve had this a day and for the price, I will be shocked if something drastically goes wrong.
I must say that I’m very surprised about the laptop.
First of the laptop came in a well portable box that was with everything and it was well done wrapped in that it made me know that nobody jas used it or nobody has done anything with the settings
2nd the weight is brilliant and was heavy enough and that’s also brilliant 3rd the speed that got to me because I’m very use to laptops that is slow and likes to take time to load up but all I did was went to look it over to begin with and straight away the laptop had loaded straight up with no messing around and no slowness at all
4th the sturdiness and the screen quality as well as the Connectivity are all great they all just like what you wanted.
I can there for say that the screen is great and perfect and the sturdiness is also great and perfectly as well.
For my first chrome laptop I can easily say in caps WOW and the reason why is for this is because I have never used a chrome laptop before at all as it always been all different types but I do strongly believe in my self that I will be wanting to stay with chrome as I have had a taste of the laptop with the chrome
It’s worth the money and I’ll definitely will recommend it.
As for the screen touch I have no comments about that due to that I’m still getting use to the laptop and adjusting to know the programing and so on.
But I’m very happy about this laptop big time I think I might be getting another one for back up but not sure as yet but let me advise you if you looking for a great laptop than this is the one for you
Easy to use
Perfect for my needs , don’t need a desk top this does all I need it to do.was easy to set up with the help of my daughter guiding me
It’s a good laptop. I bought it to use in college so I needed something small. This was perfect. It’s lightweight so it’s easy to carry around. Quality is good and it’s nice and fast. Plenty of storage so I can have all my files on it. Sound quality is perfect, it can actually get pretty loud too which is nice.
Overall, it’s a pretty good laptop for how cheap it was
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value Chromebook
I need a quick and cheap replacement for my old laptop. This is a perfect solution. I find the Chrome desktop both intuitive and easy to use. It is great how this integrates with my other Google devices.
This is my third Chromebook. The previous two were Acers which worked well but I managed to break them both after about three years use, so I thought I’d try an Asus this time round. My first impression was that the Asus is quite weighty, but appears to be solid and well made and I like the fact that the screen can be flipped to tablet mode, and the touch screen works well. As I wont be carrying it around much the weight isn’t really ann issue for me and hopefully it will prove to be a bit more durable. The only down side so far is that the screen isn’t very bright unless cranked up to max. Otherwise the Asus functions just like any other Chromebook and at the price I paid I think it represents good value.
For the money this is a nice device. Fast and responsive to use. Battery last well when using but does seem to fade if just closed and left on. For an every day machine for surfing, spreadsheets etc it’s great.
I will never use anything other than a chrome book now! I love it. It is really easy to use, Google docs and sheets are brilliant and it was very good value for money. I have actually recommended it to a few people and a friend bought one who is also very pleased with it!
I was initially hesitant to order this laptop as it wasn’t clear if it could work with a monitor or tv etc, I did buy a HDMI to usb c adaptor also and this work! It’s a great laptop for basic tasks you can download a fair few apps to including Microsoft teams etc.
It was great that it was on prime day sale too so very good price for what it is.
I like most things about chromebooks, this is a replacement as my previous dell has a problem with the charging connection probably because it had been dropped a couple of times so my fault. As long as you go carefully through the set up screens it seems easy to me to set up this in the same google chrome/youtube/photos/bookmarks/email accounts etc and other tools I use. I was laughing really at the negative reviews for this as this isn’t touch screen ( i don’t want touchscreen yuk). The sound and screen as well as the finish and start up time and probably speed are all better than my previous chromebook as this is slightly higher spec anyway. The thing starts up seemingly instantaneously and it feels quality. If you are new to chromebooks and a bit nervous get someone to help you set it up as you will really need an @gmail.com email address. If you are an avid bookmarker … like websites, youtube channels or specific individuals this is great, I also watch alot of youtube, amazon prime and bbc channels and like that i can take a pic with my phone and it will appear accessible from this. I don’t really need bluetooth and i’m not a security freak so don’t like the way it wants to make everything ultra secure. As long as it is ‘off’ when i close the lid or times out if i don’t use it i’m happy. I highly recommend in that I am convinced that you can easily pay 3 times more than this, maybe 5x and end up with something less nice, slower and more difficult to use and … wants to control your life! The more i think about this the happier i am, i’ll hopefully fix my old dell as well though this is much much better and only 180 ish. Treat yourself.
Needed a laptop quickly whilst mine was being repaired and saw this, saw the price and reviews and bought it.
Now I’m very happy with the laptop in general, the screen is clear and it’s heavy but not so you can’t carry it comfortably in a laptop case/bag, the layout is simple but nice and the start up speed you can’t complain about at all.
However what is so annoying to me is you don’t know if you’ve got capitals unless you type and then it took me to google just to find out how to type in capitals without holding the capitals key down continuously.
There is no back light on the keypad either which is annoying and would of been cheap enough to add that feature.
Finally .. and I don’t understand why but the screen measured diagonally corner to corner of the screen display (measured how they do in store) it comes to 16.4″ not 17″ as advertised and this I’m completely flummoxed over as this is a top brand and no matter what tape measure I used or who measured it for me it still came to 16.4″ (my son made it 16.5) but nonetheless it isn’t 17″ close enough not to complain or return though.
All in all I’m happy to use this as a comfortable spare that’s easy to navigate and has all the basic functionality you need.
