This dashcam has really integrated itself into my car, the wide angle rear view camera helps me see my blind spots with ease and the automatic reversing mode with the guidelines makes tail-in parking an effortless breeze. The support team has been wonderful with helping me fix some issues I had. I would highly recommend this to others like I have been doing to my friend and family.

My rear camera cable got damaged and I needed a replacement. Gigi at autovox offered me a discount on a new one if it ordered. The replacement for a superior camera ended up costing me 25 pounds which I think is very reasonable. Great communication from Gigi.

Camera quality is pretty good, picture quality is pretty good, night vision is very good. The major issue I have is with the rear camera mounting bracket.

I’ve installed it on the window of a hatchback. It seems the designers never considered this use case, as the mounting bracket lacks a locking feature. Any time I close the boot, the camera position changes. So I close the boot softly, which lets the camera retain position, until I hit a speed bump. Which would be fine if all future action happens in the 3 square foot floorspace directly behind the car. Maybe this issue doesn’t happen if you install it on the bumper, but I’ve yet to try that.

If you’re also going to be installing it on a hatchback window, considered buying a packet of blu-tack for the bodge job fix of the bracket.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but could be better.

Had one issue with the hardwire kit, when I contacted their customer service they were more than happy to advise. Had to buy another kit which cured the problem and have been refunded. Mirror unit is good, had the same issue as another reviewer re switching off and having to manually switch back on but all in all it’s a good bit of kit for the money.

Got this dashcam along with the hardwire kit. Versatile in the price range, although
had some issues with it, sometimes had a glitch and front camera failing. Eventually it wouldn’t record anything, reached out to customer service and I got a prompt replacement kit, with upgraded rear camera, so satisfied with the solution. The new unit is good since installation. One other issue might related to the hardwire kit is when I unlock the car or get in and start the engine, the dashcam turns off, so have to manually turn it on before I leave. Customer service is 5+, I can recommend i

Brilliant product, this is my 2nd one after my 1st got stolen, only thing that I didn’t like is the reverse function so I didn’t bother fitting it, other than that I can’t recommend this product enough, the fact you can replay videos on the device

I’ve had this camera some time now, Easy to use. works if you hook it to main power directly but does randomly turn itself off periodically. I think it picks up a power drop or spike as you rev the engine and the unit thinks you have turned the engine off.
The rear camera has been on the outside of the extra long Citroen van over the winter and did start to malfunction. I contacted the seller for advice and we tried a few things to get it working. At no point did they try fobbing me off. After we had tried a few things to see if they worked and they didn’t. They were happy to supply me with a replacement rear camera free of charge.
As yet I’ve not fitted it. Ill update if i can but I’m sure just having the knowledge that the seller is very willing to help, is in my opinion a demonstration of a quality and reliable seller who you can trust.

Lost marks on night vision but they all do as bright lights glare the scree out.

I was really impressed by the customer service. As for the camera failing. theses things happen.

    Thank you Guys.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased an AutoVox V5 mirror dashcam about 6 months ago. I really liked the RHS front camera feature, as my car has a central screen console with windscreen sensors etc which partially blocked the front view recordings with my previous LHS camera model. The adjustable rear view reversing guides are particularly useful as is the split screen mode. The rear camera has improved resolution over the previous model I had used giving clearer recordings.
Recently, the rear camera had a problem and kept turning off, so an email to AutoVox support led to a quick response from Gigi, who diagnosed the issue and arranged for a replacement rear camera to be despatched. This duly arrived a couple of weeks later and is now fitted back on my car, to my great relief, giving me a full and clear view when reversing.
It’s only when something like this is temporarily unavailable that you appreciate it’s true value!
So full marks to AutoVox for a great product and full marks to Gigi for great suppo

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchase an Auto-vox V5 in early 2022. I had a couple of questions about the installation process as I wanted to have a ‘two rear camera’ set-up. Firstly a permanent rear view from my pick-up. The canopy means I can see nothing via the standard mirror. Secondly a view from the back of a caravan when towing. I contacted Auto-vox’s technical support and had my emails answered promptly and helpfully by their operative, Gigi.
The V5 works well. There are probably a few minor changes I’d make to the design but nothing important. As such I have no hesitation in recommending the the product. This is despite the fact that unfortunately, after 9 months or so, the system has stopped functioning. I had it checked by an auto-electrician and I’m reasonably confident that the problem is with the display unit. The product is still within its extended warranty period however I had the challenge that I am outside the UK (where the V5 was purchased). Post Brexit it is stupidly complex, time-consuming and expensive to have goods shipped from the UK to the EU. I once again contacted Gigi and he quickly and efficiently organised to have a replacement shipped from Amazon Germany to Croatia.
It is obviously disappointing the the unit failed but the excellent customer support from Gigi has more than compensated for this.
In summary, good product, amazing customer support.

Installation was straight forward, and first impressions were great.
For the price I am impressed.
After a couple of months the rear camera stopped working properly and the view was stripy lines. I suspected moisture ingress in the cable connector which after cleaning didn’t improve. Auto Vox sent a replacement camera and after further discussion a new cable from screen to rear camera with advice to help protect from water on the road. The new cable joint is now wrapped in protective tape and heat shrink tube to prevent any more moisture getting in, I recommend this to anyone installing where cables run outside of the vehicle.
The customer service is EXCELLENT, I cannot fault them at all: quick, supportive, knowledgeable responses, replacement parts arrived very quickly with no fuss at all.
Pros – Price. Ease of Installation. Ease of use. Auto view for parking. Customer Service.
Cons – Glare on camera at night from other light sources (i.e.. traffic). Connector not watertight.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have a van that has no back windows, no reversing sensors and I found it annoying when manoeuvring in tight spaces and it’s difficult to judge the distance in the side mirrors. Plus I was wanting a dash cam as some added security.

That’s why I went with this camera. Firstly I have fitted it to my windscreen using a magnetic phone holder, I just stuck the metal plate to the back of the camera, then magnetised to the suction cup phone holder, it’s yet to fall off.

Works great, looks like it’s a rearview mirror, so you’d have to look hard to see it’s not. Plus it means I can easily remove it if I’m worried about theft.

Installing the rear camera was a bit of a fiddle but once installed it has worked perfectly.

Picture quality is as good as you can expect. Just remember the camera isn’t like your mirrors, it can only pick out crisp detail from so far away.

Night time driving it works ok but it’ll only give you night vision if there’s some light for it to work with. But with reversing lights on it will give you enough to see what you need to see.

So far I’ve not had any issues with the camera, apart from the clock on the screen continuously loses time, it doesn’t lose it, but in fact gains it. I’m sure it just needs a firmware update but it can be annoying when the clocks are wrong.

I’m yet to take the memory card out to see how good the footage is but the amount of recordings it can save is great. Days and days of journeys. Plus you get the front and rear views in these.

For the price and the quality I’d recommend it. Sure we’d all love things to be cheaper but I have to say I’m impressed and I couldn’t be without it in my van now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this V5 mirror dashcam with rear view camera. It worked brilliantly (excellent bit of kit for value) for 14 months, then started having intermittent problems with rear camera. I got in touch with customer services at Auto-Vox and a lady called Gigi (I’m sure she wont mind me mentioning her name has she was brilliant). First she suggested checking the firmware ( and it was the old version), she suggested updating it to the new one, which I did but was still having same intermittent problems. She sent me out a whole new unit with the new version of the firmware already installed on the dashcam. Now it is working as before, brilliantly. Excellent customer service from Gigi at Auto-Vox, even sent me an email a few weeks later to see if all was ok………..Superb service.
NB, as you can probably guess I’m not used to writing reviews but so impressed with the customer service, considering it was over 12 months since bought.

I bought this primarily as a rear view mirror for my Campervan and it does the job perfectly!
As you can imagine there was little or no view from the normal van mirror as the Campervan has cupboards and back seats obscuring the view.
I bought the extension cable for the rear view camera and had it all fitted in under an hour.
When driving all worked well for about 20 mins to half an hour then flickering horizontal lines appeared and the mirror kept view swapping between the front and rear cameras! This happened on 2 or 3 different journeys so I contacted support – Gigi was brilliant and totally understood my problem and within 2 days I had a brand new unit and camera extension cable. After initially swapping the mirror (same fault returned) I replaced the rear camera and hey presto everything is now working perfectly!
I am really pleased with it and have to say I was very impressed with the brilliant customer service I received from Aoto-Vox with a particularly big thank you to Gigi for her assistance!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBoth pictures taken 9pm, one shows the wing mirror view, the other shows the dashcam mirror view. Wing mirror picture is as my eye saw things, eg still enough daylight, dashcam picture is actually brighter due to the camera switching to low light mode. In reality, it’s very hard to see much once the light starts to drop a little.
    Updated July 2022:
Can’t fault the customer service (upped ton4 stars just for interactive they are), they saw my review, got in touch and did fault fixing, they even sent me a 2nd mirror to see if that fixed things.
Alas it’s the same, at dusk the rear view is barely visible, wing mirrors are very clear.
It’s a shame as the camera is excellent and the customer support is absolutely amazing.
I hope that they look to try and fix the tinted issue that affects this.

    Original May 2022 review:
Replacing an older model that was mainly a mirror with a small video square in it.
The old dashcam’s mirror was crystal clear and perfect for day and night. It was actually better than the rear view mirror in the car.

This dashcam gives you two operating modes: driving and parking.
In driving mode, the dashcam displays your speed on the left and nothing else.
In parking mode, the entire area is full blown HD video from the camera.
In driving mode, the dashcam is useless as a mirror. The mirror is heavily tinted. During the day, the traffic is just about visible in the mirror. At night, no chance.
Instead I have to use it in parking mode which means that cars appear miles away when in fact that are close.
Even worse is that you get double images, one from the camera and one from the mirror, which confuses the hell out of your eyes (reminds me a lot of the old 3d or SIRDS images that were popular in the 1980s. Stare long enough and you’ll see the empire state building!)
Camera wise, excellent. Quality is way better than my old dashcam.
    Safety wise, poor.

I’m going to see if I can elevate this above my mirror so I can see traffic in the rear view mirror.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI don’t use many of the features of this product, but during the two years since I purchased the device, it has done a great job of recording what happens as I drive around my county. The videos are very clear and can be viewed on the dedicated software on a computer, which not only shows the camera footage, but also the location on a map and the speed at which you were driving on each part of the journey. If you select “driving mode”, the dash cam displays your current speed continuously. I don’t tend to use that feature at night though, because there is a residual background illumination across the entire mirror (not visible during daylight), which makes the reflection less clear. Also, whilst the reversing lines may be useful to some, I don’t have them switched on because I find it confusing to watch both those and the reflection in the mirror, which are both visible at the same time. Overall though, I would say this is a great product and there are many available features that the user can select, including audio recording, which could be useful in the event of an accident.

    I can’t fault it

I have spent HOURS/DAYS looking for a decent dash cam, scrolling through Amazon for so long, finally came across the autovox and thought it looked decent and had decent reviews too, so hear is a run down!

Amazing quality of the front and rear cameras, have installed the rear inside the car rather than our due to seeing reviews about durability when used outside and when exposed to the elements. I have had numerous people/mechanics ask me what brand of camera I have as it looks incredible when running, which I take as good news when thinking about what I’ve purchased!

Now I have to mention Gigi from autovox support. I had several issues with the rear camera failing after taking my car for an MOT, and she sent me out a replacement for the rear camera, which irritatingly still didn’t work, but then sent me out a new front camera (as we’d worked out that the port must’ve been damaged somehow)
Now hard wired and working like a dream!

As with the previous reviewers, the support team as a whole are the best I’ve ever dealt with, sending replacements quickly and being sympathetic to the issues

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis dashcam seemed a good bet and installation went well at first, until the last bit when the fuse replacement wouldn’t fit the socket. The seller was excellent and sent out a new wiring section, no charge, but do look into what your fusebox requires before purchasing.

The rear camera is mounted inside – I had no easy route to go outside my Renault Scenic by screwing it to the roof behind the rear window. Wiring to there was easy enough, and from the mirror position to the fusebox.

Image quality is excellent, at least until night. It is easy to read number plates by day, and the image in the dashcam is an improvement in general over the original normal mirror. Observations:

    1. The angle of view is very wide, wider than the mirror, and this makes things that are close look a long way back. Takes some getting used to

    2. At night, headlights flare badly; number plates are unreadable. Whether this is because the camera is inside is debatable, though I think not given the quality during the day

    3. An oddity. With the dashcam turned off (I have it wired to come on with power to the car, off when power goes off), the mirror is a normal one, and quite good. With it on, obviously you see the camera image. But by focusing on the mirror differently, I can still see the mirror – a sort of option to look at either.

    4. Another oddity. The car is keyless, so power is initiated as soon as the door is opened. This starts the dashcam. But when the engine starts, it turns off. Normally, 4 out of 5 times, it turns on again when the engine is running, but … and oddity.

I bought this to replace my previous Auto-Vox x2, on which the display unit failed after two years. Design still has all the connectors along the top of the display, making it awkward if your mirror is mounted close to the car roof. I can’t use the GPS for that reason as my car has a console around the top of mirror mounting that won’t allow the GPS connector to fit. Removing the SD card is difficult with the camera in place on the mirror, again due to the card slot being along the top edge, right in amongst the connectors and about 1 cm from the bottom of that awkward console moulding my car designers have seen fit to include. New right-hand-drive version with camera on the right side of the mirror is awkward, driver’s side sun visor clashes with the camera if you have the mirror set in a natural position, so have had to angle the mirror such that I have to move my head over to get a proper view out the back. (Ironically, the last two Auto-Vox x2 units I had, with the camera on the left side, worked fine and didn’t clash with the sun visors.) Otherwise this is every bit as useful as the last two, the rear camera view, which I have permanently displayed, is particularly good in low light conditions, almost like having night vision.

I’ve had this camera around 5 months and it has served me very well in that time, all the features are brilliant and the screen is a good size and easy to use. Just a couple minor points… I couldn’t get it to attach to the top of the rear door on my van (which could be down to my own capabilities!) so had to attach to top of license plate which isn’t ideal as anyone could come rip it off. Will be looking into other options.. maybe drill hole in bumper.

The only other thing is that I’ve had to order a replacement cable as it has stopped receiving the signal from the camera.. which again, could very well be down to my own error as I’ve fully insulated/clad the van and at the time thought it would be a good idea to hide cable in the wall but now I can’t check if it’s been damaged inside i.e by screwing through it etc! So.. anyway… when I messaged them to ask for a replacement cable, they are not only sending me a new cable but also a new camera for free just in case!! Gigi from the team has replied to my messages super quickly and been so helpful. Thanks Gigi!! Let’s hope it does the trick!

This system consists of a mirror/ front camera/ main unit, an integrated 12v transformer and power lead, a GPS aerial, and a small rear camera plus necessary cabling. The front camera attaches to the existing rear view mirror, and the camera is on the right hand side appropriate for RHD cars.

I got this version when I bought a cabriolet, which doesn’t have a particularly clear view through the plastic rear screen, and if anything worse once the top is down. I have mounted the rear view camera just above the number plate, and although it was fiddly, it was not that difficult to run the cabling back to the main unit. So I now have the screen display the view from the rear camera full time. The image is clear in all lights, and in fact there is less vibration visible than when the screen is turned off.

It records seperate video files for the front and rear cameras. Image quality is good, with licence plates clearly readable.

I have had a problem with the connection between rear camera and main unit, and the seller, Toshare EU have replaced it within three days of me contacting them – excellent service. New unit working fine.

Edit: Just had another message from the seller, Toshare EU, checking if things are stil OK. Very impressed with their customer service.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe rear view from my convertible VW Beetle was obscured when the roof was down so I needed an alternative to the mirror.
After a lot of searching and comparison I chose the Auto Vox V5 Mirror Dash Cam and it was the perfect choice.
It arrived quickly and was very easy to both understand and fit.
Sunlight reflection was an issue until I realised that as it is not a mirror, it is a screen the rear view mirror that it is attached to does not need to be pointing where it always was, it can be moved to the correct angle to view without any reflection.
Initially picture quality was perfect and I was very happy.
After a while the picture quality deteriorated and I suspected that moisture had got into the unit as it was positioned below the rear numberplate.
I then contacted Kacey at [email protected], a very helpful and capable employee. She took on board my problem and arranged for a replacement camera to be dispatched to me quickly and after fitting it my camera quality was back to 100%.
I believe that the moisture ingress problem has been overcome by Auto-Vox but I put a small amount of clear sealer around the wire entrance area just in case.
All in all 5 star product with 5 star service, I recommend it.

I have spent long time searching for a dashcam and reading reviews and this camera is an excellent choice. The parcel arrived next day from amazon, well packaged.
It is very easy to install camera. The instruction is very clear and installation process doesn’t take much time. Wiring is long enough, mounting is simple with provided rubber straps for the display. The rear camera is fixed to the rear window and gives great view and you can adjust the angle. The mirror/ monitor is fixed on the top of existing one (fully covers it) and acts as a rearview mirror — it took me a couple days to get use to it but now I wouldn’t go back and it comes as a natural. As it is monitor it can be angled to the position you want. It accommodates high capacity SD cards to record videos.
The view is really good. My favourite feature is a wide angle, enough to capture what is happening around the car and almost eliminating blind spot.
He new anti-glare helps to see screen in bright light and it is much better than from previous dash cam.
Another amazing feature is parking guidance. My car is quite long and the rear camera really help with parking especially in a crowded places such as supermarkets. Parking ‘lines’ are adjustable from the screen.
The display is responsive and has all the functions needed and it is easy to operate. You can replay recordings from either front or back camera.
The GPS gives you timestamp and position of the car in case of insurance claim.
Auto VoX has one of the best customer service, which provide comprehensive responses and trying to resolve every problem. I have been contacted by Gigi who was very friendly and solved my issues immediately.
I am very happy with it and would recommend this product. Now, AUTO-VOX is my favourite company for dash cams!! Do not hesitate — buy it!!!

This product as a dash cam and also rear cam is excellent , the video quality is amazing for the price and played back on my I pad is very good with the date and time all recoded a must if your involved in a accident, now for the big down side , the mirror also functions as a mirror when the device is turned of , so when it’s on especially on a sunny day you get half mirror/ camera and also vehicles seem twice as far away as in the conventional mirror and the quality suffers on sunny days , a good feature would be the ability to turn of the mirror, but still continue to record, as the mirror is quite functional even though it’s a dark smoke , and the finger prints show up a lot when it’s switched of

I wouldn’t normally spend this much on a dashcam but having had a couple of cheaper ones (including a similar mirror one) that had issues or failed I decided to go for a more expensive one.

This one has a very nice quality feel to it and arrived in good time and well packaged. Instruction manual is basic but all you need and there are plenty of installation videos online.

This mirror has a number of nice features including :

Nice clear image and it doesn’t make the mirror view too dark (unlike a previous cheap one I’ve had)

Adjustable parking lines in the rear camera view

Anti glare with nice bright full size screen

Good quality 1080p Sony sensor with anti overexposure (a problem on a previous mirror dashcam)

One of the few available that has an adjustable Right hand front camera so you get a better view of the road ahead

Waterproof rear camera (I had one that failed due to water getting in)

    GPS speed recording and tracking

All the usual dashcam features such as loop recording and parking monitor etc

Very easy to fit with a couple of rubber straps to attach it over your existing mirror, although I haven’t properly wired it all in yet, will do that when it’s warmer!

Overall a very nice good quality dashcam I would recommend it over the cheaper models. After all if you look after your car (as I do) it’s a small amount of money to have some level of protection after an accident or someone driving into it when parked up

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersAs I had bought in the past a dashcam from Auto Vox and being completely satisfied, I went for this particular camera for my wife`s car as it has the rearview camera parking function in addition.

It`s fairly easy to fix it in place, but for a perfect job be prepared to spend a few good hours to do it. I have hardwired it to the fusebox as I already had the kit to do it but works fine plugged into the cigarette socket as well
It took me more time to fix the wire connecting the rear camera but I`m happy it comes nicely under the door rubber seal so it`s not visible and in the way.
The rear camera is fixed on the exterior, just above the number plate as the car is a hatchback and the vision was not so great from the interior angle.

As it`s fixed on top of the existing mirror, it`s actually acting as a rearview mirror, only that`s an image from a camera and not a reflected one. It took me a few days to get used to it but now it comes as natural.
Image quality is beyond reproach, with a wide viewing angle on both cameras, enough to capture almost everything that is happening around the car.

Parking guidance is a big pro for this device as we live in a crowded parking space area and being able to squeeze in for a parking space is crucial. It`s adjustable from the screen so I am totally in control of the distance left between the cars at every moment.

The display can be used to show recordings from either front or rear cameras or a split-screen with the two. Night vision is clear and the recordings are detailed. I.e. a number plate can be easily read.

GPS function comes in handy as well, especially as it has the timestamp and actual geographical position of the car in case of an insurance claim.

In big lines, happy about it, about its performance and truly recommended.

I bought this to use as a rear view mirror as my van has many blind spots. I received my item quickly but upon trying to use it I found the touch screen was faulty. Amazon generic help wasn’t really worth it but Autovox replaced my unit hassle free (although I did have to send the broken one back to the Czech Republic).

It’s a really good device with only a few niggles:
    * cable management is awkward with power, rear camera and gps all at the top. It looks a bit messy.
    * rear camera is noticeably poor quality compared to front camera – the front is amazing and can see in the dark better than I can. The rear camera has a low frame rate which flickers sometimes on corners etc (like 24fps films when panning). The rear camera also has very poor night quality, especially with car lights behind.
    * the rear camera is a bit too wide and makes cars look much further away than they are or too small to judge quickly.
    * mounted in my rear window, when I position the camera so that I can see the road at the to of the screen, the closest I can when reversing is about 4 feet away.

The perfect solution with a better rear camera would be a portrait mode so that instead of 1920×1080 I could mount the camera sideways and get a 75% larger image and I’d be able to see right down to my back bumper.

All together it is much better than I was expecting but definitely worth looking at the pro version.

Quite a remarkable product, i decided to get this instead of a standard dash cam and i’m not disappointed. Looking at the box it comes in you know your getting a quality product and it looks great. I was going to get in someone to fit it but after watching countless tutorials i decided to do it myself. The camera just simply clips on to your existing mirror with supplied rubber straps and the 3 leads connect at the top. If you can feed the cables straight into the roof lining at this point they can be hidden very easily which is what i did. The power lead routed to the cig lighter, the GPS to the dash in the corner and the reverse camera lead fed along the floor near the sill, this was the most time consuming part of the job. Connecting to the reverse light was easy once i found the correct wire and fitting the camera to the back of the car was straight forward. I have had the camera in for just over a week now and love it. One or two buyers have mentioned the camera can be a little darker than they would have liked and its not as bright as daylight but this wont cause any problems. All in all a great bit of tech that has the wow facto

I chose this camera to replace my earlier X1 version which i have had for a few years and all i can say is, this camera is not like any other mirror camera. I would say price is pretty much justified because of the quality and features of the product and excellent customer service.

Camera has wide almost 11 inch display and covers my entire rear view mirror. It sits nice and flat and holds on to the mirror with the very strong rubber straps provided.

Camera which is set on the right hand side of the unit for use here in the U.K. can be adjusted either to view the front of the car or to use the rear camera for a rear view .Picture can be turned off with the tap of the screen to make it an ordinary rear view mirror with or without lane guidence if desired. Because of the large screen the picture looks so pleasant and clear and is perfect for use in my pickup truck, especially if i have items in the back.

Rear camera is a work of art as well. Camera provides wide field of view behind the car and the picture is incredibly clear. One feature I really liked the most is the picture can be scrolled up or down to see even more area behind the car. The rear camera can be used without connecting read power cable but, if someone wants to use it as a reverse camera then power cable needs to be connected to the reversing light cable so when you put car in reverse then reverse guide lines will come on.

Overall a perfect mirror camera for recording any problems you might encounter on the road.

This is my third Vox camera kit. I like the idea that they provide a reversing camera function as well as front and rear high qualify video recording, stamped with location coordinates from the GPS antenna that comes with the kit. This was very useful just a few weeks ago when I was hit by someone using their phone whilst driving.
This version (V5) is much improved on its predecessors which tended to pick up a little glare in video mode. The rear camera view turns on when reverse is selected or by using the controls on the mirror.
I had mine fitted for 50 by a guy that has a tow bar fitting business but now fits quite a few of these cameras.. There’s not much too it, but I’m a bit nervous about removing the headliner with all those plastic clips. The fitter told me that Vox was the best make on the market.
Apart from the glare problem on the old X2 model I’ve had no problems with any of the kits I’ve owned. Just make sure to rinse any dirt off the external camera before wiping to avoid scratching the lens. I learned this after ruining an OEM camera on a previous car.
This product offers great value for money and I will definitely buy another when its time to change my car.

Likes: A very clear image of behind my Vivaro van, with a MUCH wider view that if I had a rear view mirror alone.
Forward and rear facing cameras, which in event of someone hitting me, then blaming me for being in reverse (even though I was stationary, twice that’s happens and I had to take 50/50 on the insurance) I’d have proof now if it were to happen again.
Dislikes. Not having a rearview mirror proved to be a bit of a pain to instal. I bought two sucker type phone holders. The first could only be mounted centre, where all the buttons and connections are, so that was no. So I got a piece of wood, sorta like the size of a rear view mirror. That works, the only problem is now its a little front heavy so it droops!

Ideally faced slightly toward you for best view, but then the forward facing camera takes a slightly left heavy view, even with the front camera positioned max to the right.

Cable routing was a bit of a challenge too, but that’s the nature of it and no slight on this unit in particular. If you have very long van, (Sprinter, LWB Transit or the like) you may need to get a ride rear-view camera extension cable as the one that came was just long enough. I have a LWB Vivaro which isn’t a long van compared to the aforementioned ones.

So if you’re a van driver and considering this, I totally recommend it. But get a rear-view mirror for it to mount on.

Spent hours and hours looking at all the available options. Selected this one as it was for a right hand drive car and the specification was, I think, better than the others. It seem to arrive before I even ordered it, yes it was super fast delivery. The experience of unboxing was like opening up a new iPhone, it was packed in a quality branded box and wrapping and before I even saw it I knew it was going to be good. And yes it was, this dash cam was looking like a high quality product, if only iPhones were the same in price relative speaking. I fitted the unit to my transit custom and made some brackets for the screen as my van is not fitted with a rear view mirror. I enjoyed every minute of the installation process as it was easy to fit even with the hard wire kit. Powering up was a big moment and all was absolutely perfect, this thing is awesome! Apart from sorting my memory card so it’s Fat32 everything was very straight forward. And even formatting the memory card to Fat32 was easy enough and took no longer than 5 minutes of research and downloading. I have now set the time and date etc and got it adjusted just how I want it, and have to say this is the best pound for pound item I have ever bought on amazon. It works just as I hoped, recordings are perfect, playback function easy to use, constant rear view image is perfect (main reason I wanted it). The rear camera even adjust itself when you select reverse. You may be getting the message I like this unit, you would be right. Perhaps you are a little undecided like I was, don’t be just buy it !

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI really want to give this 5 stars all around but the exposure on the rear camera is shocking. I don’t no if I have a bad rear camera and I’m not expecting it to be as good as the front but it’s almost unusable in anything but perfect daylight. And clouds appear or the sun comes out the it is not possible to see anything let alone a number plate. Waiting for the seller to let me no if I possibly have a dud camera but I’m not sure if I do because it would be bad even in perfect daylight but it’s ok sometimes.

Also there is not enough movement on the front lense and it points to the kerb too much.

I understand that the mirror can be tilted to any angle because you have the rear camera but most people want to use it as a normal mirror when off like me and to do that, the camera lens needs more moveme
