We wear this wrap nearly every day. My baby loves it and will nap for hours in this which allows me to get stuff done around the house, walk the dog, etc.

It’s comfy for me as well and not as faffy to put on as I originally thought. You get used to tying it quickly. I wouldn’t rely on the original instructions though and it is warm in there for both you and baby.

Absolutely love this wrap, I got it for baby number 3 and im annoyed I didn’t get it for my other 2! Took a few tries to get comfortable with it but when I was able to sort the right tightness ect for myself it was 10/10 baby is now 5 months old and still loving it!
Only downside is I find it SO long! This doesn’t affect the use though

I had a sling wrap with my son and I paid 3x more than this one and was about to buy the same one again when I saw this one and I was very surprised how good it was for the price the material is nice and soft as well,I’m also plus sized size uk 18/20 currently still pregnant 28wks so got a big bump on me and this still had some extra material to go bigger if I was any bigger so definitely recom If your plus sized. Comes with good instructions on ways to wear it I still remember how to do it for my first baby so didn’t need them can be abit tricky the first few times you do it but once you know it’s easy to do. Looking forward to using this.

This product really is a lifesaver when my little one doesn’t want to be put down and enables me to get on with stuff. Also the stretchy material helps me ‘bounce’ baby to sleep easily and she loves being in it so she falls asleep really quickly. Well worth every penny!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI preferred the idea of a wrap instead of a baby papoose. I’m a UK size 16/18 dress size so I was worried I wouldn’t find a wrap that would have enough material to comfortable wrap around my body and my baby.
HOWEVERRRRRRRR. SIS. THIS PRODUCT! LET ME TELL YOU!!
It’s so long and stretchy there was plenty of material left over so perfect for us plus size mommas. My baby absolutely loved sleeping in it. There was always major dribblage going on as you can see.

Probably wouldn’t recommend this wrap if you have a very slim figure as there’s lots of material so you’ll be trapping for ages.

    Otherwise, get this wrap

It took a few goes to get into the swing of this but once I’d mastered it I used it all the time.
I visited Baby Wearing UK on Facebook for some tips to make sure I was using it correctly at first.
Product has kept its shape and there’s no fraying etc. Very happy with product. My baby is too big now and I feel sad about storing it away!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove this sling. Its easy to put on (I watched a YouTube video) and as soon as my 3 week old son goes inside the sling, he instantly goes to sleep. It’s been a lifesaver. I have my arms back, and it works so well when he gets restless.

I bought the baby sling wrap with double minded and worried if it will fit me , as I’m plus size and YES it fits perfectly without squashing baby without me feeling uncomfortable etc , my little princess feels so secure in it. I even tried to use with my toddler and it’s perfect, I’m one very happy customer.
Very happy with my purchase and highly recommending it, also delivery was super fast.

Bought this to get stuff done when his being fussy and I absolutely love it! He falls asleep in straight away and I can just get on with whatever I need to do
The support depends on how tight you do it as sometimes he does slide down but I would say watch a YouTube video on how to tie it as it’s abit tricky at firs

4.0 out of 5 stars Really happy with it!

It took me a few attempts and different wrap techniques (thanks to YouTube videos!) to get it right, and for my little boy to feel comfortable and secure but we got there finally! He instantly settled down and fell asleep for a good hour.

It does get quite warm though so it’s best to keep them in just a vest so they don’t overheat. This carrier allowed me to hold my baby hands free without my back hurting, although I tend to use my hands to support him ‘just in case’!

We’ve not quite got our monies worth yet, but I’ll keep persevering. My only negative is that when you’re using it you obviously can’t breastfeed or use a breast pump so you’d have to make sure you do that first otherwise you’ll need to wake up a very comfortable baby

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep persevering!

I used this for a few months, and generally it was pretty good. I recommend watching some Youtube videos on how to tie it, as it is a skill. Eventually I became pretty quick. However, I later bought a Caboo (which has the cross ties built in) and never went back to this one – Caboo slings are completely foolproof, and don’t require an engineering degree in order to put them on and stop your kid slipping out the bottom.

I love this wrap. Wasn’t holding out much hope when ordered it. But its been such a relieve how well it works. My baby loves falling asleep in my arms. But once I put him down I’d be lucky if I got 30mins before he’d wake. He now has his longest sleeps of 4 to 5hrs safely snuggled up to me. And I have the freedom to get stuff done. Make a nice cup of tea to drink while hot, paint my nails or even nap on the sofa knowing my baby is safely attached to me. I use it ALL the time since I got it about 2 weeks ago. I’d be lost without it. Will be ordering a 2nd one so I’m not without it while been washed. Takes a couple of times putting it on to get a hang of it. But once you get it it’s so so so easy to put on. Really hope it works as well for others.

Really useful for my baby who is currently a few weeks old and less than 4kgs. We got a normal carrier sling but our little one is too small for it so have bought this. She’s way comfy in the sling and you can adjust it the way you want it. The only concern I’ve got is I’ve noticed the baby will eventually slide down a bit specially if you go for a long walk, not sure if you should start it tight so it’s all good to go and not needing readjusting, as the tutorial vid didn’t say anything about it- solution to this is just to simply readjust it and it’s all good again.

Just need to prep it prior going to a shop or anywhere outside when you’re travelling through a car, as the material is way long (I am short too so my height was a disadvantage) and fixing it in a car park is not the best idea ever before going in. But it made my little one safe as you can cradle her and her face won’t be showing, and she’s there stuck in and asleep.

It’s definitely a brilliant purchase! I will try to get more use to it as so I can find the way I am comfortable too.

The quality of the product is great. It comes in a nice little bag for easy storage and the fabric is both stretchy and stong which I think aids in the comfort for our baby.

I did find the instruction a little hard to follow when it comes to actually placing our baby into the carrier but a quick search on Youtube and there are loads of videos on different techniques. Perhaps it’s just our baby but she hates being in it unless she has already slightly dozed off which kind of defeats the point as I would rather just put her down then. She is still less than 1 month old and the head support is the best without feeling like I’m blocking off fresh air for her. Would recommend this product, YES but for anyone on a budget it is probably worth a miss as it is useful but it certainly isn’t a must-have for me.

I love love love this ! Before my baby was born I must have looked through so many different carriers and I thought i would be happier with the structured ones as I was worried that I would tie the wrap wrong and my baby would fall out. But how wrong was I. After my baby was born she went through a phase where I could t put her down without her screaming but I still hadn’t brought a a carrier and my midwife said to get a wrap, so I searched and I came across this one and it had so many good reviews so
I brought it and I was soooo impressed. It is just so perfect and my baby loves it and loves to go to sleep in it. I’m not worried about her falling out as the the instructions were really clear. It comes with a storage bag and folds up nice and small. I have had this for nearly six months now and two little holes have appear I emailed the sellers and they got back to me within 5 mins and are sending me a brand new one ! Amazing service and amazing product.

My baby: 2 weeks old weighing about 6LBS 9 Ounces.

Me: 5 ft 2. Petite build.

I am so happy I bought this!! I spent so long on Amazon and other websites looking for a decent sling and reading all the reviews and just wanting to make sure the product was good and I could use it and would find it useful etc etc and therefore wouldn’t find myself in a position where I was disappointed I had to return the item.

I was also unsure which slings were suitable for newborns so spent a while deciding.

Needless to say, I am over the moon with this product!! It’s helped my “colic-ky” 2 week old baby to settle and helps me to potter around the house a bit. Also for short walks around where we live I don’t need to fumble with a bulky pram and can just wear this sling.

    Love:

    ~ the neutral grey colour
~ the stretch in the fabric
~ the length of the fabric
~ that it comes with a drawstring bag of the same material
~ that it came with instructions which also points to their YouTube “FUNKI FLAMINGO BABY SLING” so you can watch videos on how to put the sling on safely.
    ~ great price!

    Dislike:
~ no dislikes. Be interested to see how much wear I can get out of it and whether it still remains the same quality after going in the washing machine.

It’s a lot easier to put the sling on and the baby in than I thought so am very happy with this product and have a very settled baby as you can tell from the pics.

Hope this review helps some of you. I’m really happy I bought this.

Only thing I would advise is to ensure baby is fed and content & then sit on the couch when you put the baby in, at least for the first few times so you get used to it, just for extra security

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a very nice sling. The material is pleasant to the touch, it is light weight, strong and long enough. It is not very elastic which makes it perfect because it gives the right support for the baby. If you tie it right it distributes the weight very well so you don’t get back pain. Sometimes I don’t even feel the weight of the baby because of it. The baby feels so light weight when I wear him on it. Obviously the baby gets warm when in it which is good when you go outside but can be uncomfortable for the baby when inside. So just bear that in mind when wearing it inside. Also most of the times if the baby is not hungry he feels asleep right away.
I think this is a very good quality sling and I’m hoping to be using it for a long time. My baby is already two months old and getting heavier each day but it seems like this sling supports his weight so far. Being so long makes it perfect even for big babies as you have a lot of material to work with. It doesn’t come with instructions but you can find a lot of YouTube videos showing you how to do it right or you can search for local support.
    I definitely recommend this!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI didn’t like the colour but grey was the only one available. I think it is a good quality baby wrap and that’s why un the summer it can get hot. I guess baby wraps might not be for everyone, but my baby is happy when he’s in it, I started using it when he was around a week old and it was perfect. He’s 2 months now and the wrap is still good to carry him. I don’t know if it is safe for my back but if you keep your back straight it doesn’t cause me any pain. I would not recommend to anyone who is not patient.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe got this shortly after the birth of my daughter.
It’s maybe a little expensive for what is essentially a really big ribbon – nothing about children seems to be cheap!

Setup: After you’ve tied it once, it’s really simple to remember (you can also youtube it if you’re having trouble)
The ribbon is really rather long, so if we’re headed out somewhere, in the car or whatever other means, we put it on at home. Putting it on once you’re out and about risks that it’ll drag on the ground at some point. We’re not clean freaks, but would rather avoid that.
Getting the correct level of tightness is down to experience – for me I was having to tie a little tighter than I expected I’d need to.

In use: You get your hands back again – it’s worth it just for that.
The width of the ribbon means that the weight is distributed across a wide area and is therefore comfortable.
It’s also easy to wear under a coat if you need – doing the zip/buttons up is a different matter.
It’s easy to feel breathing and temperature – on hot days it can get too hot though.

Final words: I don’t know how long it will take her to outgrow it but we don’t think there will be any problem with durability.
We like it enough that we bought one for our friends when they became parents.

Golden Review Award: 94 From Our UsersUsed and still using this sling for my daughter who was only 5lbs 12 when born (more rigid ones are not always suitable for tiny babies). This one is a two way stretch. I recommend finding a local ‘sling meet’ group (they are free in UK) to get a one-to-one practical tutorial on how to wrap and safely carry your baby. Alternatively you can rent one to see how you go before buying one. There are some dodgy tutorials on YouTube, so be careful when using these for help, especially as some don’t show you how to make sure their hips are aligned properly – which could cause or exacerbate hip dysplasia if used frequently / long periods of time.
Once you know how to use the wrap, it’s simple and easy to use. It gets easier with practice. It’s comfortable to wear as well. My daughter falls asleep in it, so I guess she’s happy too! Just remember that this acts like another layer of clothing, so dress yourself and baby appropriately. It’s not great for really hot weather if baby has no head support as you have to secure their head in the fabric (see photo) which obviously makes the baby hot. Also you should be able to kiss top of babies head when carrying at all times – if you can’t, baby is not in the correct position. If you feel like you need to hold the baby when in the sling, it’s not tight enough – you should be hands free.
I put my wrap on before going out, then I just transfer her into it – perfect for a dog walk. If she’s being particularly grizzly at home I keep it on all day, and pop her in and out as needed.
I really recommend this product, and wouldn’t be without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic baby carrier once you've figured out how to wrap it!

    Love this sling. It’s Fab!

I’ve recently bought the ergobaby onmi 360 baby carrier for 154.90. Let’s just say I’m returning it. And have gone back to this sling.

I like that it’s made of soft fabric. And baby just feels so close to you. The only reason I gave 4 star and not 5, is because now my baby is 3 months old. I’ve noticed the last 3 or 4 weeks in particular that baby starts with head high where they should be. But then it seems the fabric stretches due to baby’s weight. Baby ends up a lot further down after an hour. So you end up having to take them out ‘re doing the sling and popping them back in. Hence why I bought another carrier.

I am after a sling that is fabric like this, but it’s already in the shape of a sling with straps, just to clip it round your shoulders and back. This is fairly quick to put on if you know what you’re doing. But I want something you can get on a lot quicker and easier.

But otherwise a fab sling I’ll be keeping it. And may continue to use it round the house. I’ll certainly keep it for the next baby.

Golden Review Award: 287 From Our UsersDon’t hesitate! I would definitely recommend this sling! As a first time mum I found it so difficult looking for the best of the best for my new little bundle of joy and I’ll be honest this sling was a last resort for us as our little munchkin decided to only sleep on either of us…. Unfortunately this means you are very limited to what you can do in the day, even eating or making a cup of very needed coffee was VERY hard work with one hand so that’s how I ended up purchasing this beautifully made sling!

    Positives –
*easy to put on (once you get the hang of it!)
*you can wear it with anything and still look like a fashionable mum 😉
    *it’s super comfy!
*you can put it on without help!! (you would be surprised at how many slings you seriously can’t put on without a second pair of hands)
*my little one (3 weeks old) bloody loves it! Falls straight to sleep and I can put the washing on etc.
*the price is super competitive and if you have prime it can be with you the next day!

    Challenges –
*The sling comes as one massive piece of fabric which was very daunting at first but don’t be put off!
*I would recommend putting it on with a baby prop or with the help from someone else first time… I used a sofa cushion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why you should definitely buy this sling!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersExcellent quality but would say that it’d be too hot to use the wrap in the summer months. My daughter loves it because it’s hands-free and so does baby because he’s closer to mama. Strangers stop to ask about the wrap and seems it’s still not a common sight in central London. It’s not so easy to breast feed with it (fine if bottle-feeding) or having to change nappies, but as in life, you take the positives with the negatives, and despite the drawbacks, my daughter is still walking around with baby in this wrap.

Funki Flamingo will contact you to make sure you are fine with using the wrap and there’s a 100% Money Back & Infinity Replacement Guarantee should you decide it’s not for you. Watch videos on the internet to learn how to use this wrap before buying. It’s just a long piece of fabric but there’s a way to wrap baby securely and you’d need to be able to do this unassisted – for when you’re on your own with baby. My daughter managed to do it initially by bending over baby on the bed, but now she’s experienced, she can do it standing. Likewise, you’ll find a way that’s safe and comfortable for yourself.

Many people stop me to look at the baby being carried in the sling. They all think it’s a great strategy. I find it very useful after feeding the baby as it helps her burp easily . Otherwise takes a while to get her to burp and keep her upright which isn’t practical when I am out and about.

She is very cozy in it and sleeps within seconds of being put inside it. Very easy to wear and I tend to wear it before getting into the car and once I reach the shopping mall just take baby out of car seat and put her into the sling.

We have a toddler too and we found that while my husband uses the trolley, I have the baby on me but I can also handle the toddler at the same time so that he can focus on the shopping.

The only negative is that my back isn’t very strong and I get back pain after wearing it for an hour. Not sure if I could use it anymore than 3 months for this reason.

  28. Anonymous says:

It totally improved my child’s mood. She cried alot less when she was in this sling. You really have to know how to use it otherwise the fabric can be quite loose and the baby will hang too low which isn’t good for your back or the comfort for the baby so watch a youtube clip for instructions.

We used the sling for our first flight with the baby and it worked perfectly. She could sleep in it, feed in it and be burped in it. It’s all you need for short and long travel.

My only issue with it, is that it’s too long and can often drag along the floor whilst putting it on which isn’t great when doing it on the street.

Apart from that, my daughter lived in it for the first 4/5 months of her life. We traveled to 5 different countries in it. One of my best buys

  29. AnnettaBigelow says:

Material: the fabric is nice and soft/smooth. It is 4 way stretch so really moulds to the shape of the baby and you. The colour is also really nice. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it’s quite thick once you’ve got the 3 layers so I canthink really use it on those very hot days.

Function: holds baby very securely and is easy to put on once you get the hang of it. Because of the 4 way stretch, it really moulds to your body and is incredibly comfortable to wear – much more so than the carriers I’ve tried. Comes with a very handy bag for storage too which isn’t too big (11″x5) so you can stick it in the travel bag for those “just in case” moments (eg. baby screaming in pushchair and only stops when held but you are 3 miles away from the car…!)

Size: I’m a size 18 and it is big enough for me…

Overall – really great value and super useful.

I ordered this carrier for my premature baby when he was only a few weeks old. Unfortunatly I didn’t get to use it until he was 2 months old as he ended up back in hospital. We have LOVED using this carrier on a daily basis since, weight is very well distributed and unlike other carriers I have used with my other children I haven’t ended up with a sore back or shoulders. I was worried before we tried it that I wouldn’t be able to figure out how to use it and wrap but it is very straightforward and after the 1st couple times it is second nature.
I feel I have a very close bond with my baby and do feel like he is very content to, I feel like the carrier is partially to thank for that as I have been able to carry him while getting on with my house work so he hasn’t been left alone while I get on with things. Delivery was very speedy and communication from the seller was great too with a follow up email. I would highly recommend this carrier to any one looking and do believe that a carrier is an essential item for all new parents.

After having trouble with using a baba sling (baby hated it and seemed to almost be falling out no matter what position I put her in), I decided to give this a try. I was desperate to be able to have a baby carrier and feel confident using one.

I got this when my baby was around 3 months old. I wish I had discovered it sooner! It gives me so much freedom to be able to quickly carry out some household chores when my baby does not want to be put down. Not only that, but my daughter loves it. She is never more content than when she is being carried using this wrap. I now use it when when out and about too – it is really convenient. It also makes me feel so close to my daughter, just seeing how happy and content she is being wrapped up close to me.

I had to wash the wrap on the second day of having it as my baby spit up on it. It washes beautifully.

I checked out some videos on youtube of how to put it on. It really is not as complicated as I thought it would be.

I am very pleased with this item. 1st of all because it arrived in two days on standard delivery option which is marvellous. 2nd the seller provides good information about where to found demonstrations of usage. Well, with that sad I have got to say that my 7weeks baby hated it at first but I knew why (it was just a feeling but I was right). It was all about the most comfortable position to be in and so I tried 3 different wrapping positions and finally found one my baby loves and actually looks comfortable in and doesn’t cry. Just a tip: it’s better try to put the baby in after feed or a playtime because he is more relaxed and willing to this new experience. Good luck and don’t feel frustrated if you can’t put it on at first attempt. Try it on while your baby observes you and have fun with him watching your all effort to get it right and safe so he can be closed to you.
About the material: it is very good. If it feels like the baby is going to fall it’s because you’re using the wrong wrapping position. I saw two different ways to do it on YouTube and the second one, actually done by a very claver male, was perfect and tight enough to feel secure.

I bought this sling as I had wanted something reasonably priced which it was. It arrived earlier then stated and the packaging it came in was a nice touch. I revived an email from the seller which I thought was a nice touch, with an instruction sheet as well as a handy guide on slings and carriers and why they are very good for being close to baby and general bonding with a newborn. The material is nice and not as rigid as some of the others on the market (I received some slings as gifts from family). It is nice and stretchy. I haven’t given it 5 stars only because I haven’t had the opportunity to wash it yet and I don’t know how it will handle after, however the seller has assured me it is machine washable. Overall good product for the price

This is quite possibly the best purchase I’ve made since having a second child (and I wish I’d known about wraps with my first!) I have a 7 week old and a nearly 3 year old and my health visitor suggested a wrap would be useful so I can still interact with my toddler. It’s been a godsend as I can spend time with my toddler without being interrupted by a crying newborn every few mins (which can make older child jealous/annoyed) I simply put baby in wrap and she falls asleep! Meaning precious time with my toddler! It’s also great for just being able to have your hands free so you can get on with simple jobs around the house. I even had her in the wrap for a quick, stress free dash round Tesco! It looks complicated to wrap round you at first but there are good videos on YouTube and after watching them a few times, it will come second nature. The material is also so lovely and soft and the grey colour just looks fab with everything. Great price too compared to other wraps on the market (bebe satchi etc). I would whole heartedly recommend you buying one!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe got this over a month ago now, as I wanted to really have a good go of it before submitting my review. Honestly when it first arrived I wasn’t massively keen; I’ve carried my baby (now 5 months old) in a stretchy wrap since she was two weeks old having previously used an amawrap (similar to moby) and think they stretchy wraps on the whole are perfect for younger babies.

When this wrap arrived I noticed the fabric was a lot more stretchier than my other wrap which at first put me off as I felt she slumped a little after a few minutes of wearing her, however now she is 5 months (and a little bigger) it fits a lot better. We tie it a little higher too, and now its our favourite stretchy wrap we own. Due to this I feel I wouldn’t be able to comfortably wear her when she was below 4 months as the material just wasn’t quite as supportive as you need, prior to them being able to hold their heads etc.

It’s perfect coming into autumn/winter as it is a thicker and comfy material. Would love more colour selection, although it’s a perfect neutral colour for hubby. We’ve used a mix of wraps including buckles, woven and a few stretchies but this is my go to wrap. She falls asleep in it very quickly and is lovely and comfy and quick to put on and put her into it. Very good! 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Funki Flamingo is a fantastic stretchy wrap, it allows hand’s free snuggles for mama, who often finds her baby only sleeps when being held. It’s especially handy if you have a toddler already, or if you need to get house hold tasks done, or simply need to make yourself something to eat! It makes the day to day operations of having a young baby much smoother and more peaceful, without sacrificing closeness and cuddle time. Baby is so content hearing their mum’s heart beat and being able to smell her skin. It’s also much more convenient than a pram if you are nipping out quickly or going food shopping. it can be pre-wrapped before you get in the car, and used multiple times with baby ‘in and out’ without having to re- wrap.

I have used quite a lot of carriers and some of my favorite features of the Funki Flamingo are :

    – The 5% spandex / 95% cotton blend makes this a perfect wrap for new mums and first time ‘wrappers’. It’s easy to get a secure wrap with plenty of strength and forgiveness.

    – Some problems with other wraps are they are too wide, and when you have a young baby, this can either cause a lot of bunched up fabric or over extending of the legs. The funki flamingo is just the right width to allow a good seat compliant with T.I.C.K.S guidelines from newborn

The fabric is lovely to touch, its a very supportive and comfortable wrap to wear! I love the gender neutral grey that honestly ‘goes’ with whatever mum is wearing. It’s light weight which makes it great for warmer days.

I already have bought extra’s for baby shower gifts.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a seasoned babywearer I was excited about receiving my funki flamingo wrap. I wasn’t disappointed. The wrap is soft, well presented in its own carry bag, and just the right length. The grey marl is tasteful, unisex, and will go with anything. The wrap is easy to tie, and has a good stretch.

The instructions provided could use some more thought, I would have struggled to follow them if I didn’t know what I was doing, and the suggested YouTube videos are not great either. But YouTube is full of live demos of how to use, just search “Stretchy FWCC” (front wrap cross carry) and there are lots to look at!

The infinity guarantee is the real star of the show, offering something out of the usual. I haven’t washed the wrap yet, but my guess is it should do lots of wear (though by 6-8 months most babies will have grown too heavy to be well supported, as is the case with all stretchy wraps) through multiple children.

A good value, good quality, comfy, cosy way to keep baby close
