Looks ok easy to fit the bits on … granddaughter not used it yet so can’t comment on the water side of the toy yet… but so far so good recommend

My daughter is 2 and even she was so excited when we put her new Mermaid into the water and she changed before her eyes. She loves her and never baths without her. Very good idea will be getting her another for Christmas

You out the warm water in the tall tube, and pop in the mermaid all the paint comes off which it is supposed too….leaves the water all mermaid magical water…and reveals the true mermaid you have…very good got for my daughter’s 5th birthday she was amazed
A real rainbow of fu
I bought this for my little granddaughter who loves barbies and it came with us to Phu Quoc Island and ‘swam’ in the pool and the ocean. It changes colour which added another layer of delight for her. Well worth the money and the case space to bring it to her.

I do think they are pricy for what they are, I guess it depends how much they will be played with & the fun of the reveal. Would buy this again to gift.

Exciting barbie surprise
I wish this barbie existed when I was younger! My daughter had been in here element with the exciting colour changing and being able to put barbie in the bath and water table. It is a little pricey but it’s 100% worth it.
The colour reveal is great, but it's over too soon!
My seven year old loved the blue slowly coming away in the water and the yellow and orange sunshines slowly being revealed on her outfit. The water goes a pearlescent blue that she loved playing with after, with the tube the doll came in and another bowl we had.
She really enjoyed playing with her mermaid doll in the bath and was mesmerised by the tattoos and patterns disappearing and appearing with the hot and cold water. She loves her long, bright orange hair.
We were both a little disappointed that the mermaid doesn’t bend at the waist. She doesn’t have the flexibility expected from a Barbie so I am not sure she will be played with as long as her other dolls, which is a shame as mermaids are so popular now.
I got a “Merman” Barbie
This is a very good present for around 5-6 year olds as this is like lols but the doll is taller and bigger than an lol surprise. It is a color reveal and I think the luck is pretty good as we got the rarest one. My daughter called it “merman” Barbie.
You have to fill the tube with warm water then put the doll inside it ( once blind bag opened ) the the tail colour will come off then reveal the real color of the tail. There are also mermaid tail ends, arm bands, and necklaces for the other blind bags and brushes.
You can’t then empty out the tube, fill it with cold water then you will get tattoos and other things in the mermaid.
Very interesting Barbie toy for young girls.
A lovely doll!
The value of the price really depends on who the doll is intended for. For those merely wishing to add to their collection or have a doll set to play around with, there are plenty of more extensive Barbie sets out there that I’d think would be better options. But for young Barbie lovers who will most likely have a blast with the whole water colour reveal process, this would make a lovely gift.
The Barbie’s very well-made. The detailing in the tail and matching style with the hair and accessories look super pretty. The hair’s ultra soft and shiny (and a decent length to play around with).
I find the tube to be a great storage case too just to make sure the doll doesn’t end up forgotten under the couch or behind the fridge somewhere!

Novel Water Based Unboxing... But If You're Collecting, There's An Increasing Risk Of Duplicates
My daughters love Barbie and mermaids, so what better than a… Barbie Mermaid! It gets even more exciting with the fact that this is a Colour Reveal Barbie Mermaid so you don’t actually know who you are getting.
The unboxing process is a massive part of this toy experience and as an adult, you probably will need to supervise it. The anticipation starts the moment you open the main tube packaging. Everything is sealed and the main doll’s tail is coated in a coloured paint. You need to fill the tube with warm water and soak and twirl the doll around (hence the adult supervision). The paint will dissolve, exposing her tail and costume, leaving the Barbie mermaid doll ready to play with. There are also a good selection of accessories included as well.
If your kids like Barbie or mermaids, or both, then this novel unboxing experience is sure to excite. But… there is a small (potential) problem!
If this is your first Colour Reveal Mermaid then that’s great you’ll be fine, but if it’s going to be the second or more, then you have a risk of getting a duplicate doll to the one you already have. The more Mermaids you have in your collection, the increased risk. I guess that is the price you pay for the surprise element.

My daughter was glad to get the ken mermaid doll as apparently it is rare to get. You don’t know until its opened like a kinder egg but at these prices if you want to collect them all you run the risk of getting the wrong one. They are all mermaids of some kind. The ken doll we got was silver and yellow. It was a nice looking toy. The added fun is when you put the doll in water – the water turns a blue colour which is fun to do.
Mermaid barbie surprise
This colour reveal barbie toy is great fun. The idea is you open the tube, Chelsea is covered in a blue paint, take the 4 mystery bags out (these reveal different surprises – 1 soft fin, 2 wrist cuffs, 1 crown, 1 seashell sponge-comb accessory.) and add warm water. Put the doll in the warm water and this will remove the blue paint and show Barbie’s features. Each doll has different coloured eyes etc.
I’m not a huge fan of these surprise type toys, as it is usually always the wrong one, and queue having to buy several more to try and get the right one. However, this is really well done and my daughter loved it, the surprise element definitely adds a lot more excitement.
Exciting
The Barbie mystery is fun and exciting.
You get a mermaid Barbie with accessories- a tail, comb, wrist cuffs and crown.
The comb when wet reveals pretty body art.
The fun is in the not knowing and when you unwrap your mermaid you then immerse her in water to reveal her true colours, this is fine for older little ones to do alone, but three years may need some help to stop spills.
When she’s all washed and in her true colours the mermaid is pretty, she doesn’t have the removable clothes and extensive wardrobe of her land loving family but we have been enjoying splashing her in the bath with us ( minus her clip on tail and accessories and trying hard to keep her hair dry!)
This colour reveal Barbie Mermaid arrives in a reusable screw lid plastic jar measuring approx 32cm high with a diameter of about 8.5cm.
I love the jars these colour reveal dolls come in as I use them to store the million & one teeny accessories you soon find you build up once Barbies & their doll friends enter your world.
I actually popped her in the water & got distracted so she was in there for over half an hour before I remembered.
When I went to get her out ALL the colour had come off & made the water a dusty sparkly grey/blue but there was no residue sticking to her at all.
I just mopped her dry with a paper towel & there was nothing on it but water.
I got the purple Barbie which I was really happy about – it’s my favourite colour.
She also came with a purple & white star headband, a pair of purple bracers for her forearms, an irridescent net tail which clips into the base of her tail & a shell shaped (maybe a clam?) purple comb for brushing her hair.
If she had knees, her hair would fall to just below them as it’s really long.
She has pale blue eyes.
These mermaid Barbies are a perfect gift for sea loving Barbie fans, but they have quite limited play outside of Mermaid related games as they only have jointed shoulders & neck.
If you are buying a first Barbie for someone unless they are Mermaid crazy I’d pick one with legs to start.
That said, I love her.
