HDMI drop out issue - SOLVED!
New home, new tv and consistent HDMI drop out issue when certain appliances, lights and cooker are switched on/off. Surge protectors, changes of HDMI sockets and other solutions tried, tested and failed.

They certainly do, do what they say
I’ve been buying BlueRigger cables for a few years now, usually when I’m particularly concerned with fit for purpose, reliability and durability.
They arrive on time, are as described and work at first attempt. I only give 5 stars when I’ve been able to test customer service and when a product has shown itself to be reliable over time. They’ve always been reliable and yet there’s no way to give 4.5 stars. Similarly I’ve never had a need to call customer service, which is great news and yet hasn’t given me a chance to test out their personal relationship skills.

It works beautifully. I bought it so that I could connect my laptop with my TV and comfortably sit on my sofa and watch any CD or DVD, and operate from there only.
Also, no compromise in quality.
Excellent for the price point.
The cable is thicker than expected and has very sturdy terminals. The connectors fit tightly into all sockets and the overal level of manufacturing is very high considering the price point. This product is ideal if you plan to stream from a laptop whilst sat on the couch thanks to its length and robust nature.
Good cable
These are surprisingly good quality given the price (cables, as you know can go for 20+++). And given the quality i would have quite easily put in that price range.
These are just under a metre. So if you are expecting to stretch across multiple devices, as i do, make sure it will reach.
The cables are thick and the connections sturdy and robust – unravelling it took some unstiffening of the cable if you know what i mean.
No issues with sound or vision – using for my blu-ray via a hdmi switch box – very please and would look for this if i need anymore, keeping in mind the length
Ideal in wall cable
Well made cable, that produces a superb picture, but unfortunatly I received a faulty cable that produced no sound.
I am sending back to Amazon for a refund and have already ordered a replacement.
This cable is ideal for downwall connection for wall mounted TV. Although I have had a we blip with my first purchase, I would most certainly recommend this HDMI.
Does the job. Not great for atomic research, maybe?
This lets me put pictures and sounds on my TV from my Apple TV, or my Playstation, or my laptop, or anything else with an HDMI socket. Pretty nifty.
If you’re the kind of person who gets a microscope out to analyse the resolution frame-by-frame, pixel-by-pixel then I suppose you MIGHT want to spend more on an adamantium-plated, nitrogen cooled version like they use to hunt for new particles at CERN (probably?) – but if that’s you then why did you even bother reading this far down a review on a five quid cable anyway? Go away.
On/Off
From what I hear of HDMI cables, people tell me that because they transmit binary data, you either receive a signal or you don’t therefore reviewing an HDMI cable, I technically should only be able to confirm or deny that I received a signal to my display. I did.
There’s more to it though, build quality, aesthetics and the cool factor. I use these cables on a TV bed so they need to be long enough to reach the centre compartment where my devices live but also tough enough to handle continual flexing up and down as the screen rises. I own a couple of BlueRigger cables now, they look cool and work well and are tough looking so 5 stars.
Sceptic
I was always of the opinion that all hdmi cables are more or less the same give or take quality of construction.
I was having real problems with pass through on my Sony home cinema system where it would lose connection with the Panasonic TV. As a last resort I replaced the hdmi cables and would you believe it, it fixed the problem not only that the picture quality has improved as well… Or is that my imagination.
Anyway very pleased with my Bluerigger cables so I guess all hdmi cables are not the same.

Great Value
Purchased two 7.5m (25ft) lengths to run from a sky box in one room to an AV amp, and then to a wall mounted 4K TV. Both cables running in 25mm external conduit. Nicely boxed product, good quality cable, heavy duty but still flexible, thankfully not Nylon braided which I find makes the cables too stiff. The heads of the cable are fairly large, but I did manage to push both through a single 25mm conduit at the same time by pushing one through against the wire of the other. Fairly tight fit though.
This is high speed cdmi with Ethernet, so basically the highest spec cable currently available (http://www.hdmi.org/consumer/finding_right_cable.aspx) and much cheaper than you can be fooled into paying at other places, and this is also CL3 rated for in-wall installation, so all round good value.

Not much to say really. It delivers “1” and “0” from Pc to telly.
Some say their cable carries numbers better than others but I believe a 1 is a 1 as far as digital signals go.
Looks sturdier than other cables but don’t count me on that, I don’t own a dog.
A sensibly priced good quality cable
The cable itself is quite pliable, not stiff hard plastic like some I have bought, the material feels a decent quality, matt finish. The cable end connectors are firmly attached with no movement on the metal part of the HDMI connector where it extends from the plastic casing. I am using this to connect an HDTV to a high end graphics card in my PC. This cable supplied sound, which my previous cable did not ( a Cablesson cable, poor quality throughout, construction is shabby, it stopped working).
The cable even came in a good quality box, something I wasn’t expecting, and only added to the overall feel of a well thought out and presented product. If you need a sensibly priced good quality cable, this is it.
These seem to be really good quality.
Does that matter?
Well, when a cable fails on you & you spend precious time determining the cause of the fault – only to find that it’s the cable that was working just fine until ….
Then YES that matters.
Now my blu ray player is working just fine again, as it SHOULD be.
Oh, & the cable that failed wasn’t just a one Pound cheapie either; colours started to go and very quickly lines appeared onscreen, then …. nothing.
So time will tell, but initial reactions to these BlueRigger cables are very positive.

Excellent all round quality
I bought a pair of these to extend the distance between the TV and Set Top Boxes after a recent living room refurbishment. For under six pounds these are an absolute steal. The items arrived the next day, neatly packed and individually boxed in sturdy cardboard boxes. The cables were capped at both ends so there’s no damage to them or dirt inside the connectors.
I connected them up to a TiVo HD box and an Android TV box – both of which are working absolutely flawlessly. The cables are well made and have a premium feel to them (the same sort of feel you’d get if you paid 5-10 times more in the high street!!) and are of excellent quality all round.

Great product, very long lead that’s really helpful when you use it in different places which I do watching tv/video from laptop to tv in house, weekend caravan, hotel rooms that have hdmi ready tv’s. Highly recommended and with Amazon prime, I ordered it at 8pm and received it next day, brill !!
Superb value - Great produc
Great product. The lead is thin and flexible which is great for behind my tv which has limited space, the heads are small too which helps to plug them in (alot of HDMI heads are HUGE and bulky) and at 2m long plenty of lead to go round. Price wise is great value when you consider most place charge 25 – 40. A MASSIVE mark up and just goes to show what a racket the high street is. Also dont listen to advisors in PC / Game shops – Gold plated, high speed, ultra high HD etc etc – HDMI cables are pretty much the same and do exactly the same thing.

It works. Its an HDMI cable. doesnt really need to be anything else in the description except for working HDMI cable. It does just that. Feels solid enough to travel with and doesnt feel like it will be breaking anytime soon. Been using whilst travelling (rolling up, pluging in and out) and its not had any issues. ace.
The one to go fo
Very nicely built cable. 15m is really at the limit of HDMI cable lengths, so you need good quality to give you a fighting chance of transmitting 1080P successfully. Well I am happy to report that I get a good picture from my PC through to my TV. This cable is thick and has very solid plugs at each end. I have several HDMI leads by various different companies, some flat ribbon type, others in fancy braded gold and black sheaths, this blue rigger is a no- nonsense thick black PVC type of cable that speaks of functional qualities rather than a more designer look. Would buy again when I need more such cables. Also was packed in a no-nonsense brown box, and comes with a lifetime warranty. Bluerigger is a US company.

It’s a HDMI cable. Either it works or it doesn’t. Mine works. End of review!! I would also add that it feels well made in the hand, solid and like it’s likely to last a while. But it works as a HDMI cable and I really can’t believe that shops like Maplins are still selling HDMI cables for 30-50. I kid you not. It’s a cable!! Even if it has 24 ct gold plating on it, it’s still just a cable with about 50 pence worth of gold on the connectors. I paid 5 for this which is still pricey for a HDMI cable but will do the same job as a 50 cable. Go figure.
Anyway, this item feels well made and it works. Recommended.

After having read reviews about the Blue Rigger High Speed Cable with Ethernet,i decided they was just what i needed after purchasing a hdmi receiver and new sony bravia 3d smart tv.I was using my old 1.3 hdmi leads and though the quality of sound and picture was good,it got even better,which i didn’t think possible with the intoduction of the Blue Riggers.I am very very happy with the quality and performance of the product and also the ultra fast shipping.I would highly recommend this product and i will be sticking to the same in the future.
Quality option for HDMI
OK .. so we all know (or should know) that HDMI cables only carry 1’s and zero’s so spending lots of money on a cable does not provide any discernable advantage over lower cost cables. However, there are two practical elements I have come to appreciate over time and these are, flexibility and build quality .. especially with regards to the HDMI connections themselves. This cable is very well made .. from high grade components and the overall finish is excellent. The blue markings also help me identify the source and input being used. Delivery was prompt and the packaging was adequate. It’s a cable! Highly recommended.
Unbeatable
Best cable i have ever seen, cord is extra thick so will last long and the hdmi connectors are sturdy and strong. Normally its ‘pay for what you get’ but with this company its ‘pay a little, get alot’. Slightly more expensive than a regular cable but you can really see the quality.
I’ll be honest, I picked what looked like it might be the best wire in the cheaper end of the category – all I needed was something that takes the signal from my PC to my TV, not something that makes me breakfast in the morning. Having said that, I was quite taken aback at the quality of what I received. The cable comes in it’s own box, with plastic caps at either end protecting both inputs, the wire is quite ‘heavy’ – much more sturdy than expected – and the section where the inputs are attached to the wire feel rock solid (I don’t foresee it coming apart or failing because it has been moved around a bit). Of course, it also does the job of delivering the picture and sound reliably, as I expected. All round, I’m happily surprised and very impressed.
There are a lot of very expensive cables available. There are plenty of people who will tell you that HDMI was not intended to work over 3m. I thought that was the case, and did quite a bit of research. Dig around the web and you will find there are some fairly extreme views on both sides of the argument. I came down on the financial/engineering side of the wall. If a 15- cable worked for me, I was going to be unlikely to try a cheaper one to see if I had made a mistake, Alternatively, there were companies that seemed to be making good engineering sense and they had much less expensive products. If I bought one of those and it didn’t work, well, that would be silly old me.
But I bought one, and it works a treat. Job done and money not wasted. I got sensible advice on their web-site, took that advice and was absolutely not disappointed. That is why they get 5 stars.
So far so good.
I have only had this for a couple of days. If it fails later on I will let you know but so far all seems to be good. The quality of the on screen picture shows a noticable improvement in colour and sharpness compared to my other cables. Because this is a 15ft cable I expected some loss off quality. This has not happened. At this price and quality I can afford to replace my other cables with Blue Rigger.
worth every penny
Why folks find it necessary to pay over the odds for these cables is beyond me – this is a well made and very reliable cable and has presented me with no problems whatsoever. Need a big HDMI cable – this will do the job very nicely indeed so put away your unjustified snobbery and get one!
Bluerigger HDMI Cables
Excellent product which appears to be made to a very high standard. In use they are excellent. I use 2 of these for delivering audio and video to my Yamaha sound bar from an HD Sky box and a Blu-ray player. The cable was delivered exactly as described and arrived on time.

I bought this to replace another 5m HDMI cable I’d been having problems with. It works a treat, seems to be well made and is an awful lot cheaper than many HDMI cables (I can’t imagine what it is the expensive ones are supposed to do better).
Superb quality
This must be the third BlueRigger HDMI cable I’ve bought in as many months, and the picture quality is superb. I need long runs as I keep reconfiguring my home office, and the distance seems to have no impact on picture quality on 1080p material. Totally recommend.
I have purchased lot’s of HDMI cables over the years and I first bought one of these a few month’s ago to try it.
Well I was amazed at the high quality build and performance and have since bought another six of them and they have been excellent.
You can buy HDMI cables in the shops costing 15 or more for a 2m one and the quality isn’t as good as these, and for 3.99 the Bluerigger is unbelievable.
Several years ago to buy a decent one it would have cost you so much that most people would have bought a cheap cable for around 7 or less, but as time has gone on the cables have become cheaper that anyone can now buy a high quality HDMI for 3.99.
I am very fussy when it comes to things but I cannot say a bad word against this make and I highly recommend them.
The cable is fully shielded to reduce interference and to give you an amazing picture, buy one you can’t go wrong.

I have bought 3 of these so far, a 2 metre, 3 metre & 5 metre for different set-ups. They look and feel brilliant, you can feel the quality.
Not much more to add, they do the job they’re supposed to, and for the price are the best I’ve used. I’ve paid twice as much in the past for other HDMI cables and they’re now coiled up in a drawer as these just seem better.

Outstanding value
I was a little worried when I saw the bad reviews but needed this lead and was not prepared to spend a lot on it so I jumped in and ordered it.
Received the order very quickly and was very pleased to see that box it arrived in was not the normal over sized/over packed item I normally receive.
Unpacked and found as other reviewers stated the cable was of a high quality but the stiffness of the flex was a surprise.
This was not an issue as it uncoiled easily into a straight cable.
I plugged it into my desktop and my Samsung flat screen and was deeply disturbed to see nothing.
Long story short, took PC apart (spring clean) unplugged graphic card and reinserted it, plugged back all the cables and wizz bang I now have a great HD picture and audio on my TV, no audio lag that I thought may be a problem.
GREAT PRODUCT, will buy brand again.

Needed to remotely site my Sky box and wasn’t certain how far away I could put it. In the end and after a lot of research decided on 5m as the max distance for HDMI. These ones are slightly shorter and are a really good construction with a positive click on connection. Picture is good. No Losses apparent.

full hd 1080p led only 2yrs old been using 15 cable from a electrical store c—-s and a free one i got with my ps3 both no difference in quality recently my brother was given an expensive brand name hdmi lead ,for the ps3 same game similar tvs hes one is a couple of inches bigger the cable made a difference to picture quality,so bought these after the reviews on these cables as i did not want to spend 50 for a hdmi lead for the money these are brilliant hooked it to my ps3 and wow bought a new tv or at least it felt like that,defo noticable difference ,get it for your sky hd see the difference as sky give an half inch silver connector cable one side red other white ,put my old electrical store bought cable on the sky in the living room (gold plated connectors) and there is a small quality increase worth it all day long for a few quid.
Don’t be fooled by these inexpensive HDMI leads, you don’t need to spend daft amounts of money on these type of cables as they are digital only. A cheapish well made HDMI lead will give you the same picture and sound quality just as expensive ones, unlike analogue cables which are a different kettle of fish all together. HDMI leads carry the signal in ones and zeros so providing the leads have been properly put together you DO NOT need to spend large amounts of wonga on them. Just Google about the subject and save yourself money, or go onto AVForums.com (a british site even though it is .com) and do a search on the debacle. Oh by the way these Bluerigger leads are fine and five metres for under 6 you can’t go wrong.
Superb
Having purchased several HDMI cables in the past from different makers, each with various flaws or build defects, I wasn’t expecting too much from this Bluerigger cable.
I am happy to say that I couldn’t have been more wrong. As soon as I took delivery, you could see that this cable was in a league of its own. It was securely packaged in it’s own box. Not a cheap and nasty plastic bag which my other cables have been supplied in. The cable itself has the look and feel of a top quality product, and it was more than capable of performing the job it was purchased for. If you are in need of a top quality HDMI cable at a very reasonable price, look no further. This is exactly the cable that you are looking for.
Another Quality Cable
I only recently discovered BlueRigger products when I needed a new DVI-HDMI cable for an old Mac Mini. I was very impressed with the quality of that product and so when I needed to buy new HDMI cables they were at the top of my product search.
I received my cables next day in a simple, easy to open cardboard box. As with the other cables I’ve bought, the quality and finish of these HDMI cables is surprisingly good with more flexibility than other cables I’ve used in the past. The the cable is reassuring weighted and the connectors are sturdy and lock snugly into place without any sign of downward drag. I’ll definitely be buying more BlueRigger products in the future.
Tested and grea
I bought this to run my TV from my pc and sky-go, this is a very good product and fantastic value for money, would recommend this to anyone who wants to run a remote system without bulk hardware sitting under their tv and have a HDMI switch that can cope with the number of inputs needed, most of my equipment is about 2 meters away and my pc is about 10 meters away and I use the TV as as a second desk top for films and sky-go or even youtube. If you are struggling with the concept contact me on ICB and will modify or build you a system that will do the job lol
Honestly, what more could you want from an HDMI cable? I used it to pump Netflix from a Samsung laptop to a Sony TV and had no problems. The extra length makes it easy to put the laptop in a convenient place.
Only negative point – not as shiny blue as the HDMI-to-DVI adapter from the same company. But you’d have to be quite sad to worry about that.
Bought this for my son’s PC too link to his TV for Gaming. Really good quality piece of kit, well constructed with heavier than normal cable for what you normally get for the price. Will look for another from this brand when I need to replace or move any of my other devices.
Works as expected
I wanted to experiment with streaming video over broadband from my desktop PC HDMI conector to the TV. I didn’t want to spend a fortune and ordered this product. I since received it and it’s works well. I did have a few setting changes on PC to get the video and sound to transmit but it worked and I’m looking forward to having access to more movies and using iplayer.
The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is that the cable is thicker and therefore stiffer (similar to a power extension cable) than I would have liked but it is advertised as insulated.
