Easy to use and works well
I was apprehensive when I ordered this as there are so many on the market and want sure of how well it would work. I have 2 older cars that still have tape players and needed something to help stream music from the phone. Tried it in one and bought a second one for the other car too. Very happy with purchase so far. Would recommend.
Cheap & easy to use
Cheap & easy way to add Bluetooth to older vehicles. Find some empty radio space, tune in & connect via Bluetooth. Sound quality is good, we use for listening to Spotify on the go. It includes a couple of USB ports so you can even charge devices as well as listen to music. There is an SD card port on it, but I’ve not used this feature, so I can’t comment.
Works well
I got this product due to the lack of bluetooth technology in my car.
Its not difficult to install it and eventually I can listen well to my songs while driving the car.
Blueteeth Confirmed
Brilliant little Bluetooth receiver. Definitely one of the best accessories I’ve bought for the car. Nice and easy to set up and pretty sleek design, not as bulky as some of the other ones
Amazing produc
What a gadget, it adds Bluetooth capabilities to your car should it not have then.
You can play your downloaded music on your radio with a touch of a dial.
Quite easy to set up, but a little awkward to get device to change frequency.
But once you locate an empty fm station and tune the car into the same frequency it’s all good.
Great devise made listening to music easy as my car only has a cr player . The only problem was it interferes with my car black box so had to stop using it 🙁 I am a new drive
Good but whines
It’s easy to use and does it’s job. Only issue i’ve had is a whining noise when I’m driving. Still trying to figure out if it’s related to the product or just the frequency
I bought this because I have an older car that doesn’t have Bluetooth capabilities to play music from my phone. It is very easy to set up and the sound quality is great so I can finally listen to my music whenever I want to. The blue light is attractive and isn’t too bright and the device is small enough that it doesn’t get in the way.
I couldn’t quite believe this would do what it was supposed to do, and allow me to play anything via Bluetooth to my ancient car radio – but it does. I can take calls and listen to podcasts and it’s very easy to use – simply plug in, tune the radio to the same frequency as on the device and you’re set up. Obviously there will sometimes be a little hissing in the background or similar, depending on the current signal on whichever frequency you are using, but this is no worse than listening to the radio – generally the sound is crystal clear. There’s a USB phone-charging port on it too. Wish I’d known about this years ago!
Very good
Bought this for my first car which is 2009 polo and only has a cd player and radio, all you do is tune the radio to any blank station on your car which matches the one on the device (i chose 87.5) Very effective and no buzzing sound in the background only before it connects to your phone. This is an investment considering the amount I would have had to spend on CDs of all my favourite albums. Very good and would recommend to everyone who has an old car and misses out on the bluetooth on modern cars. My car is now perfect thanks to this device.
Good transmitte
Works great and easy to connect your phone through Bluetooth to, when going through different areas it does sometimes break up your music but I’m assuming it’s the car picking up on the radio station that you tune the device to! I love it especially the hands free call butto
Easy to use but sound could be bette
Very easy to set up and get using straight away but loses a star because there is a sort of faint hissing sound that can be heard quietly when in use rather than just what is being played
Purchased for my wife’s car, older car with fm and six but didn’t want the hassle of lots of cables running about and wanted to charge the phone at the same time, this transmitter was really easy for her to program to a chosen fm signal and pair to Bluetooth, now auto connects to her phone when she starts the car and despite the two usb inputs for charging it’s really small ! Takes up very little space over the cigarette lighter , signal is really good from centre console also, no breaking up so far but I suppose it all depends on if there is somebody else transmitting on or close to your frequency in the proximity of your car.
Yes… I just called it excalibure. This little dynamite package saved me from mental suicide. I was at my wits end. I was just about to commit suicide at the poor quality sound I was getting from my 2003 golf mk4. But no. It wasn’t the speakers…. it wasn’t the sound system…. it was the methods I was using. After purchasing this little dynamite package I don’t find knives tempting anymore. I don’t feel the need to drive off a bridge. Life is all sunshine and daisy’s. I can relax to a melodic tune of rap god. Or nod off to NWA sing sweet basefull melodies to me. This has changed my life for the better and I don’t even feel bad. Neither should you. Buy this swagalicious baby and call in sick from work so you can drive the streets listening to your favourite tune. Just stay off frequency 108 because that’s what I’m using.
I purchased a car and soon realised the USB port did not work so I could not connect my phone to play music. I was quoted by a garage 250 to replace the USB port in my car. I decided I didn’t want to spend that much, and would try this instead first. it was so easy to install and does the job perfectly. It also works as a car charger as it has two ports one to charge and one to play music.
The only downfall is that there is quite a bit of interference if you have the volume loud. I have read the reviews and did see a few people mention the same. I have noticed it’s not as bad if the volume on your phone is highest with the volume on your car radio lower, however, if you play your music loud, you can hear a faint fuzz in the background.
Good little product, which I bought for use in my husband’s 12 year old Astra. It’s fairly easy to set up and if I can do it at almost 69 years of age, then anyone can. Telephone calls are great both incoming and outgoing. Only problem encountered is playing music via a USB stick. The device loses sound for a moment or two every few minutes. Will try a different USB to see if that encounters the same problem. On the whole a worthwhile buy.
Very good!
I bought this as my partner didnt want a new stereo but wanted bluetooth capabilities in the car. The car we have has no aux input so bluetooth was the only option. No bluetooth add-ons exist for the car so we thought we would try this as a temporary solution till we could come up with some a bit better.
Turns out this worked far better than we anticipated, we have been using it now for almost a year and its still working fine, the sound quality is pretty good. I have two minor complaints though:
– sometimes it makes a small high pitched noise when nothing is playing, its not noticeable unless volume is quite high but can be a pain.
– With our car whenever we turn off the engine the bluetooth adapter keeps playing on your phone rather than turning off straight away(I use bluetooth headphones a lot and when i turn these off they disconnect straight away, this doesn’t) then it takes quite a while to reconnect.
We used another car for a week with this adapter and it kept connection when car was turned off and didnt need to reconnect so think it depends on car but this is a really minor issue.
Poor quality sound
Not a bad connector, does the job but I was a bit disappointed with the sound quality. The music played well if only a bit quiet and fuzzy but not bad, however the call quality is horrendous. Whenever I took a call the person on the other side could not hear anything. It’s also annoying to reach down to the plug to press the button to change songs and take calls aswell which is something that I found quite inconvenient.
I decided to return it and try an aux cord instead and the sound quality is so much better and the call quality is much more crisp. Overall I’d recommend an aux cord if you’re able to connect one but if not this isn’t a bad alternative if you only want it for the music.
Literally only just received this.
First thing is that it’s way smaller than I thought it would be which is a good point. It took me longer to stop my car radio from scanning and allow me to set a blank channel than it did to set this fella up ! After 3 minutes messing around I chose 87.5 fm and it works brilliantly. Stuck a micro sd card in and hey presto I had endless tunes of my choice. Push the little green phone button and I was making hands free phone calls without any apparent speaker ! What is this Bluetooth wizardry ! Volume was terrific on playback through the cars speakers for both music, radio and speech, the first caller thought it sounded way better than when they call me on the landline. With yet another change in the law regarding hands free use and what constitutes ‘hands free’ arriving shortly you would have to be mad not to buy one of these for the money. If you have an older car, mine is a classic car without Bluetooth but with an FM radio, there is no excuse if you get caught and receive points and a fine for using a phone because this item is not exactly expensive or difficult to set up. For the money I’m genuinely very happy with it.
Overall benefit is greater than risk
It has been 5 days since I received the product. At first, it only took about a minute to get this working. Just plugged the thing into the socket, turned my FM on, tuned it to the factory default frequency of 87.5MHz then it started to play songs right away from the tf card (16GB) that I put it before. Overall, the sound quality was much better than I expected. The volume is on the soft side but it can be amplified from the car volume. In other reviews, people reported noise or other sound coming out of their speakers an for me it was a periodic (like wave) and continuous high pitch tone comes and goes when quiet such as in between music or when no music is played. However, it was in the tolerable range and not audible while music is being played.
It was not clear how I would cycle through different media when you think you can play music from either USB stick or tf card. As the maximum capacity allowed for each medium is only 32GB, I wanted to use both and switch between them. The 32GB limit was the real upper limit in that it wouldn’t read at all (but recognise the port is taken) any stick or card > 32GB (I tried 64GB or 128GB sticks or tf cards as I did not have anything under other than a single 16GB tf card and hoped 32GB part of the memory, wherever that may be, would be recognised). In a nutshell, you can cycle through between media by pressing the forward (or next) button on the right with the two USB ports up for a few seconds until you hear the voice notification which media is selected.
Overall, I am quite happy with the purchase especially for the sound quality. It was also surprising to find out it does read FLAC files! I haven’t tried BT to play music but it connected to my phone via BT seamlessly at least. Now the order in which music is played is still a mystery. At least I know that it is in the alphabetical order but it beats me how it got started from d. I just hope it passes the test of time, lasting more than a year…
