This thing works! My son is no longer able to escape his straps in the car seat. The best thing I’ve purchased. Peace of mind for that little money. Highly recommend it.

The best thing I’ve purchased. She was a nightmare for continually escaping her straps and as of yet she can not get out with this now on!!

This is good for extra security for your toddler, it’s definitely a big improvement versus without it. However, our daughter is able to escape at times even with this, but it is better with than withou

My little boy has managed to get his arms out of his straps every single car trip/walk and no matter how tight I do them (I would even be worried it would hurt him it’s so tight) he STILL manages to get out! But for the first time ever we managed a full car journey with his arms fully secured! Thank you so much!!

I needed something to stop my little girl from getting out of her seat whilst I’m driving, and so far this is working she also loves the monkey that attaches to over the clasp. I would highly recommend if im ever asked for any safety devices.

Oh my goodness! It’s amazing. I’ve got my sanity back. Going for a walk was my only respite until my daughter learnt to escape. Now she is back in the buggy, can no longer escape and we can go for long walks again! Totally worth it. She hated the monkey toy on the front (which is a nice bonus if your little one knows how to find the buckle) however, the buckle locks too so it is pretty escape proof. Would for sure buy again I’d we needed another!

Perfect. Works well for my baby brother as he likes to Houdini himself out of his carseat straps. He loves babbling to the monkey strap protector. My mother 100% loves this device it saves her a load of stress from driving alone with her baby in the back seat.

My grand-daughter must have some genetic connection to Houdini (on the other side) her escapologist skills as a 2 year old were worrying. This little gadget has ensured the seatbelt remains in the right position and I would recommend it to parents or grandparents of similar escapologists. Grumps

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy little girl from about 20 months kept trying to escape her car seat, she could get her arms out and from there was leaning out of the car seat grabbing anything she could.
I can not tell you the amount of times I have had to pull over to put her straps back on.
This clip has been a life saver, she can’t get her arms out and no matter how many times she fiddles with the clip she can’t undo it.
This has been in use for a couple of months with no problems.
I have had unsolicited advice from family members/ mummy friends that they are not recommended and could cause injury to her chest in a crash. My answer is always if I crashed and she wasn’t properly restrained her injuries would be worse and they use chest clips in the states.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWhen looking for a strap to stop my 4yr old grandson slipping his arms out of his car seat harness, this was my 1st choice. Showed him the pics and he loved the monkeys head. Why manufacturers of car seats don’t add this extra strap for slightly older children, I’m sure I don’t know. Grateful someone came up with a cute 1,especially when an autistic meltdown occurs a cute monkey face will ease that.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersOk so I’m just addressing the legal thing because I know people have freaked out and there is a very specific law.
The easiest way to check if you can use this is to check your car seat. It’s COVERED in labels and stickers. Somewhere, on one of those, you will find an R number. If your seat meets R129 regulations you’re clear.
Some non judgemental unsolicited mum advice? Don’t remove labels from car seats. Don’t buy them second hand. Don’t add untested accessories. Blah Blah Blah scary death percentages. Blah Blah Blah laws that are rarely enforced.
    It boils down to this:
If you have a 5point harness in your car seat you CAN NOT legally (or safely) use this.

This will likely only be enforced if you were pulled over for speeding/drink driving as an extra offence. No policeman is looking in car windows for inappropriate buckles.
My car seat meets R129. My daughter is an escape artist. I have to tighten this to the Nth degree and pull her straps super tight and STILL the little monster has managed to get out and stand up. Not really great when you’re on a dual carriageway.
It’s illegal for her not to wear the belt. It’s illegal for me to stop in the road. BOTH ARE DANGEROUS. And they’re worried that if you have a 5 point harness it might be harder for you to get the child out of the seat in the event of a serious crash.

Look up the law. Look up seatbelt knifey things, decide for yourself which risk bothers you most.

But if you’re R129 strap it on and don’t worry, it’s safe and legal.

The cuddly face was great for the first 2 days. I have NO idea where it is now.

Bought this as my daughter takes her arms out of the straps in the car seat. First time using it didn’t adjust it properly and she still could get out. Now she can’t get out thankfully. Good product for keeping my little one safe

It seems to have worked for stopping my son getting his arms out *most* of the time. He can still get one out with this in place as it slides up and down easily, but its harder for him to do so he gives up quicker. Also the lock mechanism that stops children unbecoming it just pinged off after a few days.

    my 18 month old was showing her escape artist proficiency by forcing apart the top sections of her car seat straps and then slipping her arms over them allowing for free upper body movement – not what you want in the case of a crash, or emergency;

After she demonstrated this behaviour, I said what we’d need is a clip which ties the top section together – hoping that I’d stumbled across a great idea which I could retire off – I checked amazon and found this product – bugger; The product works great, there’s an extra lock which stops the buckle from being opened if your little one has figured out how to use them (ours hasn’t); She loved the monkey, immediately wanted the monkey and proudly wore it around her wrist – which worked great as a familiarisation to part of this new strap which would no longer let her escape.

I’ve since bought another for the grandparents, as they have the same car seat, so same problem. Impressed and would recommend.

This product is one of the best things I’ve purchased as a parent. When our toddler was younger, he used to sit, chill and even sleep in his car seat. Now the second I strap him in, he does an impression of Houdini and spends the entire journey trying to escape. He was successfully slipping the straps of his car seat within minutes of us setting off which was so dangerous and causing me a nightmare every journey because I’d have to stop several times to strap him back in – kicking and screaming like a Tasmanian devil. I tried everything, tightening them, adjusting the recline on the seat to make it more comfortable. I even spoke to the seat manufacturer because I was convinced our seat was faulty, but there was nothing wrong with it. I ordered this product, convinced Houdini would find a way out of it too, but after the first use he’s never been able to slip his straps again. And after a week? He doesn’t even try anymore, which is a huge relief for me and a much safer drive for everyone! The product is really easy to use and the cute character for the little one to play with is a nice addition. Have already recommended to several of my friends who are parents!
