Very light, easy to read day and date. On negative side – time changing knob too smooth. Black dial with all numeric numbers would look better, for these two negative points 4 stars.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis watch has a pretty decent rating which swayed me to purchase. Arrived today. First impression was it looks more like a ladies watch. 36mm. My mistake I should have checked. The strap is small too so if you have small wrists it might well look perfect.

Apart from the above it has a simple classic elegant style thats easy to read. Thats something I really like in a watch, to be able to tell the time at a glance. Some reviewers have found fault with the crown but no problems so far. Hopefully ive got a screen protector film that fits. Then its a Bday/Xmas pressie for someone in the family with small wrists lol.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy current Citizen Eco-Drive watch replaced the Eco-Drive I’ve worn for the last 25 years. I’m sure it will give equally wonderful service. My previous watch remained accurate throughout that quarter decade, and I only had to replace it when the original watch strap finally failed and the watch launched off my wrist whilst out walking, landing 6 feet in front of me, finally breaking the glass and stopping the mechanism (it is shockproof, but not expected to survive such an upheaval).
The watch face is smart, it includes both day and date, and the watch strap comfortable to wear. It maintains perfect quartz accuracy as long as it is exposed to light, never needing to have the battery replaced or to be wound up, like mechanical style watches. The only slight negative, unlike my previous 25 year old Eco-Drive, is that this model does not have luminous hands and dials to enable the time to be seen in the dark, but that is of minor concern to me. The watch was very competitively priced for such an excellent piece of equipment and I believe represents very good value. A satisfied customer.

A really stylish look for the Money, great no battery im a fan of citizen watches I’ve had a few in the past and they have always been an excellent purchase. Great time keeping.

Hubby very pleased with his present , only niggle i had was changing the date was pretty time consuming and the instructions were a little baffling but we got there in the end ( with a broken nail )

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am very happy with this watch, which has replaced my kinetic charging one I’ve had for 20 years. Nice and plain and legible with day/date. Seems to be very accurate and is still reading identical time to all my radio clocks since BST change.
I didn’t like the slightly tacky shiny textured strap, so replaced it with a plain black one.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI own this watch for a couple of weeks and this is the reason for the headline, few time for a proper opinion, however, so far, my feeling it’s this is a very fine watch. The idea of displaying 3 numbers (12, 4, 8) is clever and the result is a nice looking.
Thickness is great and the case diameter 36mm is excelent for small wrists which is my case. For someone with larger wrist, 2-4 mm more would be the ideal. In general the quality is pretty good in my opinion. So far the time keeping it’s very accurate (to an atomic clock) but there isn’t time enough to be sure..
May be the more important factor is to use light rather than battery.
All in all with so many positive reviews and my little experience I’m sure this was a very god acquisition.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI have a vast collection of watches from a 10 digital watch to an Osiris and Breitling and this is by far the most comfortable to wear. It’s very light compared to all my collection, it’s simple, elegant, and accurate. It’s a lot smaller than most watches but regardless, it adds to the comfort which I desire most days. It has been a daily driver since purchasing it and that says a lot about a watch. It is accurately priced for what you get. Presentation of the box is standard, but the watch is strong, real leather band, a cool buckle with ‘eco drive’ imprinted on it. That brings me to the final point. Eco drive is becoming a standard for citizen watches. It is beneficial for the environment, and for the price I paid for this watch, I will never have to worry about putting a battery in it again. Furthermore, it comes with a 5 year (+1 for registering the watch) so 6 year guarantee for internal parts. The only other I know to have offered me that is Rolex.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read review

A truly beautiful watch and it looks a million dollars. The only problem is that it might need a battery in fifty years time. I don’t think I will worry about that problem for now. If you need reading glasses you may find the date a tad small. Otherwise a beautifully crafted timepiece.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a lovely watch, bought for my sons 21st birthday.Lovely classic styling it looks great with casual wear and is equally at home with more formal wear. Its a nice size on his wrist, not too huge but very much a mans watch. He’s very taken on by the fact that its a solar watch and is delighted that it hasn’t stopped at all in the week he’s had it.I’m very pleased that I picked this one out for him and would recommend it to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had this watch for some six months now & I’m impressed. It keeps perfect time the limited operations required to keep dates & days in order are very straightforward. Also batteries are a thing of yesterday

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI purchased this with some birthday money I’d received (normally not one to treat myself!), and after having started a small collection of very affordable watches <20 I wanted something with a bit more of a premium feel. I purchased this for 68 and after receiving it I feel like it's worth a whole lot more.

The watch body is polished and very smooth, the face is elegant yet simple and very easy to read. The strap high quality, and while for the first few days it was very stiff it has now moulded to fit my wrist comfortably.

I love the Eco-Drive features of this watch and knowing I've got at least 20 years before I need a battery is pretty decent!

My only gripe is that as mentioned in other reviews the crown is polished rather than textured which makes setting the watch a bit more difficult than others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classy, reasonably sized and feels very well made

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis was a replacement for a rather unsatifactory watch and it seems to do the job well. A modest cost but it looks OK and is slim and comfortable. Most importantly it keeps excellent time and should not need the battery replacing.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought this for my fiances recent birthday, the watch looked just as it did on the website, it was nicely packed and presented in a lovely box the watch looks far more expensive than it actually was. It was relatively easy to set up and my fiance was really pleased with it. It was a good fit even though he has a very narrow wrist.I’ve never bought Citizen before but have heard good reports on their products. It’s good for him not to have to purchase any more batteries. Obviously it is early days but so far so good, lets see if it out-lives its 5 year guarantee

Nice slim Bauhaus-inspired watch similar to those from Nomos or Stowa. The date & time window is set rather deeply but this is presumably because of the extra layer of photo-cells under the main dial, and so means it has to be read more or less straight-on, but isn’t a big problem. The winder really needs some knurling to make it easier to use as it’s currently very smooth and a little small, but the watch itself is so easy to set up that the small leaflet is probably not needed. Excellent semi-formal watch for all occasions, though for my personal taste I found the strap a little too thick and swapped it out for a smoother thinner one. High recommended.

bought this for my brother and hes been wearing it for a few weeks now and cant fault it.

build quality it very good and it looks more expensive than what it really is.

Packaging was a bit tatty though like it had been left on a shelf, then dropped ten times, which wasn’t ideal considering it was a gif

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe watch is exactly what I expected. Looks good and fits perfectly on my wrist (I have a small wrist). The strap is made of genuine leather and it feels really good against your hand. So far shows no signs of potentially cracks. You don’t need batteries as it charges using any source of light. I can wear it in any occasion – business or casual- thanks to its classic appearance.

This watch is a bargain, looks very expensive and has a sleek design. Since this watch is quite small and slim it will suit thin wrists. Another amazing thing about this watch is that you never have to change the battery. It also comes with a 5 year warranty.
I just love this watch so much!

I like the design features of this watch, the black face, the 12/4/8 digit split rather than the usual 12/3/6/9. I like the technology, no battery required, the day/date feature and finally, the size of the watch. I have small wrists so this doesn’t look ridiculously heavy on my arm, the case is nice and slim too. One slight nuisance is that it is a little tricky to change the day/date. Overall I am very pleased with this timepiece , it is good value for the money and looks quality!

For the time being it is working well.
I hope so it will run until long time.
But would be good if I could see the time sometimes evening in the dark – it is not luminescent-

only received watch today.Perfect. Spent a long time searching for a watch, this one has ticked all the boxes, really pleased with it. I have quite small wrists so size of watch is right for me, thin and light which I like and the strap looks and feels great. Its looks elegant and can be worn with anything. Price good as well.

I bought this for my dad, a lot of the reviews said it was a small watch to be honest that’s what I was after, my dad has a very small wrist for a man he finds it difficult to buy watches there usually far to big for him. This one is a lovely size for him he was very pleased. Beautiful watch arrived in good time.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI already have had a Citizen Eco-Drive for several years without any problems and just fancied a change.

I’ve not had a problem with the length of strap or indistinguishable hands mentioned by others; the adjustment knob is a bit fiddly, but I’ve had worse and I soon became comfortable using it. I find changing a watch battery far more fiddly and the Eco-Drive solves that problem.

It’s a good looking watch at such a good price from Amazon that I didn’t even do a price comparison – it’s already gone up since I ordered it so I’d recommend getting one soon.

Prompt delivery and in good condition, which after all are the main requirements of a customer. As usual with me the strap is the issue but apart from that am happy, no more batteries and the cost of replacing them!.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA lovely elegant watch, with simple clean lines. Good quality leather strap. Of course it is an Eco-drive, so no batteries to worry about. What attracted me was the price and its water- resistance to 100m. I sent it back because it was a little too small for my wrist. Would suit teenage boy with slim wrists.

This is a smart watch and I love the fact that, hopefully, I will never have to change the battery. My only gripe is that the hands are difficult to see the in poor light. Other than that, I love it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs a result of my wife and son purchasing Eco-drive watches over the last year with positive results, I have become the third convert in the family. The design of this model is sleek and slim which suits my fairly thin wrists. Combine this with the solar power capabilities, its day and date functions, and the renown Citizen quality, all for a reasonable price, makes this a winner. Delivery and packaging was also 5 star.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis a great watch and an ideal gift. No more batteries and it looks great on. Just one small problem, the watch strap could do with being a little bit longer. It a little bit small for a mans wrist, other than that its great value for money

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Users…… but being British I am not a Citizen but a Subject of Her Majesty the Queen. I don’t mind pretending though and its a good watch. I changed the strap thing for a steel bracelet and am now very happy with it. I agree that the winder/datechanger knob thing could do with knurling and enlarging but it is just manageable for me.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGreat watch for the price and very impressive.

If anyone remembers the old classic solar powered watches this is nothing like that one. Classic design with day and date at the 3 hand (My only gripe being you do sometimes have to wind the day and date on and as a few reviewers have mentioned it can be a bit of a pain as for some reason Citizen have not made it easy to wind on the day and date if you have fingers beyond the size of a small child) Leather strap is probably the only down side as a previous reviewer has mentioned its not a classical leather style but almost a “Crocodile” Leather style but its really not that noticeable.

I am not a regular wearer of this watch and I have not noticed it loosing time or any other problems. If I am being really fussy over this watch I would say the second hand doesnt quite hit every second after it passes the 30 second mark (You see, I have to be really fussy to find fault here!) Movements are listed as Japanese and although it says its water resistant I have not tried it in water of any depth. Face of the watch is a nice classic design, nothing fancy but looks nice on the wrist. Its of a classic size and not one of the larger watch faces that are currently popular. The big bonus of course with this watch is it does not need a battery, from my experience just exposure to normal light will do, if its on your wrist daily it shouldnt be a problem at all, if you take it off just leave it somewhere where it will get some level of light (In another words not at the back of the cupboard)

For the money and for the quality I recommend this watch especially to someone looking for a simple classic design watch and doesnt fancy paying several hundred pounds for a Raymond Wiel or Tissot.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersAfter once more having to change my watch battery (not Citizen)which is supposed to last 10 years! I decided to invest in an Citizen ‘Eco-drive’ watch. It arrived in the stated time, was well packed and has worked straight out of the box with no need to charge it first. It did need to be adjusted for the time and day/date. Note the adjusting knob is very smooth and polished and difficult to grip. Now set I have not needed to use it except to change the date for BST. It keeps good time.
The best watch I ever had was a Citizen mechanical chronograph watch with lots of functions; however it was irrepairably damaged during a ‘service’ many years ago. Looking at the prices of an equivalent watch today they are way out of my price range.
