Easy to install, fitted to my existing leisure battery. Works well off grid
I originally purchased this kit over 1 year ago for our off grid static caravan, we have tv on almost constantly, phones charging, iPads, lighting ect. We were so happy with the value we purchased again for our campervan.
Surprised by how easy the panels and the controller were to fit . Giving me glorious free electric , love it!
Took a while to get sent out but can’t fault it for the price
Good quality, very easy to install, and work brilliantly…even on a cloudy day
Easy to install as it comes with all the kit. Nice long cables makes things easy .good quality solar panel and nice controller. Only thing is the instructions are not great on how to use controller.
Best unit I found and works well little expensive but when you see the quality of the panel maybe explains it .
This is a vey good kit great charging out put from the panel and vey easy to install and set up
I bought this to try out solar for a small project. I paired it with an old car battery ( not ideal) to charge various battery packs, laptop, fan, lights and it works a treat. The weak link in the system was the old battery. I soon swapped it out for a lifepo4 50a battery and it’s fab.
Absolutely excellent product, great value for money. Customer service I cannot fault so helpful and friendly and nothing to much trouble.
If you are going to buy solar panels then these are the ones to buy.
From reading reviews it looks good and really looked forward to seting all up.was happy to come home and it was on time, went to open it and grip the solar panel but from my understanding and sharp pain in my hand, relized all the glass was broken spent good bit time picking bits out My hand, could not even get out box it was that bad,so given it 4 starts as delivery off item was poor so that’s amazon issue and not the company that makes the solar.
I had an issue with the solar charge controller, with less than 3 days use, where the 12v DC load failed. So after contacting Ecoworthy (directly and through Amazon), and a little bit of backwards and forwards communication the issue I have had, has been resolved. Now I cannot highlight how pleased I am with customer service I received, and has given me confidence in purchasing a high specification solar system for my home, once I have had time to undertake some renovations.
I honestly recommend Ecoworthy products, and if there is an issue, they are willing to help with little to no effort on the customers side…..now to look at the larger systems for the home.
I’ve now had a sensible conversation and it seems I have misunderstood what the display is showing me.
Charging a LipePo4 battery. I’ve set the controller to charge at 14.4v but it only ever showed 13.x Seems this is the state of the Battery not the charging voltage.
Re-reading the (very tiny) written instructions this is implied – my bad.
As to the rest of this kit. It arrived very well packed all the pieces were there and it checks out. It’s not yet in it’s final location but it does seem good value.
Original review and reason left below.
Sent the message below to Eco-worthy through their web site.
Told to contact them through Amazon.
Can’t see how – so single star review till I get an answer.
“Greetings
I have your 30 PWM charge controller.
I understand the optimum charge voltage for LifePo4 to be 14.2 – 14.6v
The display shows I have set it to the Li option but so far I have not seen the displayed voltage to be more that 13.2v
At that voltage the battery will never fully charges.
Please advise.
Thank you”
Now had a response and I’ve revised my review as promised.
I tested the system indoors before placing it on the garage roof. Very well build. I have connected to leisure battery 130ah and later more bateries as system is producing more power then expected. On January 10am with low sun it gives about 1.5A and 20w/ hour. During day easily around 10A. That is from 2x 120w panels. Highly recommended.
Any simpler this product could not be . A super fast delivery by the way !! Installation took minutes and I’ve never done it before! A very good product for the price I highly recommend for large motorhomes
I bought this kit to expand my existing 2 panels to 4. So far, I haven’t had any problems and the older ones are still going fine after a couple of years.
Unfortunately, one of the panels was damaged in transit, but the company replaced it for me very quickly.
I use this with a 110 Ah deep discharge battery to check the feasability of solar power for my home. I run a 600 W inverter from it and have been pleased with the results – going ahead now with the house installation.
I now have two banks (four panels) of these panels on my shed roof powering a 4KW inverter via 8 x 75AH batteries.
For the money I cannot fault these panels at all and the fact that they come with absolutely everything you need and are virtually idiotproof to install makes them even better.
Highly recommended.
In the interest of honesty I left a review saying I was disappointed with this because of the low wattage output. Since then I have changed the setup and have seen 80-90 watts in ok (but not super bright) sun. I felt obligated to update my review to reflect the products performance, rather than my original poor setup. I’m a much happy customer.
For the money, if you are after something that can output around +100 watts in direct sun then this is a decent system.
I don’t usually leave reviews but I was so impressed by this. I’m a mobile mechanic in a low loader Renault master which has an ecu controlled alternator. I have a split charge, massive 225ah leisure battery and 2Kw power inverter which is constantly on. Since fitting this kit my leisure battery is kept charged and in good health with the controller not allowing it to over charge. Also my alternator doesn’t have to work as hard so that’s great. It’s extremely easy to set up and well made. Definitely got the solar bug now, will definitely be buying more when I build a camper soon.
so after years of trying to convince a relative that solar was the way forward for him, rather than fetching battery’s home to charge every other day i figured in for a penny in for a pound, and bought 2 sets of these 1 for a touring caravan with 2 leisure battery’s (i think they’re 115ah) in parallel and the other to power his out building which just gets any old battery thrown on it.
Since installing these he has not run out of power for lighting 12v tv or water system and the has always had power.
So glad he finally listened and is not having to haul batteries around or replace them yearly anymore.
well impressed simple to install and well made stop reading and just buy them
I have wanted to dip my toe in the water as far as solar panels go for a long time now and finally bit the bullet with this Eco Worth 200W kit.
I have installed them on my shed roof, connected to the charge controller and a Marine battery in the garage.
Everything about the kit seems okay. the build quality of the panels themselves seems robust enough, the charge controller does seem quite cheap and plasticky.
The quality of the supplied instructions is not great, especially as making an error when installing could prove expensive.
I did however managed to get everything in and working without a hitch. The supplied brackets will do for most situations I guess. I had to modify them but it was not an issue.
The setup appears to be working well and is keeping the battery topped up.
Currently I am only running a radio and and Echo dot from the system, but expect to add more as time goes by.
Good kit. Poor instructions.
I’ve been using this on my garden shed for around 1 month with the 100W panel and a separately purchased 12V 50AH battery. I have a bestek inverter connected to the battery for led lights and charging my electric bicycle battery. You could run 12v lights direct but i couldn’t find a suitable festoon, perhaps due to the higher current at 12V. It works well and i’m quite impressed with the little charge controller that also has two usbs meaning you don’t need to run the inverter to charge usb devices.
There are more powerful solar panels available for not much more money if you have a bigger project. But for a small off grid shed or garage it works well. Always put an inline fuse or breaker for items post battery and have a form of quick disconnect in case of a fault. Simple to use. Comes with solar panel cables but you’ll need to buy battery cables or do as i did and cut off tails of the solar panel cables if you have spare length.
