Used it in my prints from long time and never had a single fail.
Best resin by far. Be sure to go through all your settings and test prints
Use on my saturn 2 prints prefect for projects and commission projects for devils brush gaming.
I find the V2 material so much easier to work with than the original.
ive been using this resin for over 3 years and it has given me he most consistent prints, works great with 2k and 4k printers and providing the pieces aren’t over cured there is a good enough flex on the resin to make it my best choice for small scale weapons like axes.
Still my favourite go to resin for Elegoo Mars and Saturn.
Always get great prints as long as you set everything up properly.
You do need to make sure your room temp is not too low as I did get a bunch of print fails due to low ambient temperature so make sure your room is at least around 18 degrees or more.
Cleaning is pretty standard for resin, IPA rinse, bit of a messy affair and there is a strong smell from resin and ipa when cleaning. The resin when printing does smell, it’s not too bad but you will want to use it in a closed room or your house will smell.
Print quality is good with my standard settings, I just poured this in the tank and I was off printing again without changing a thing.
Just make sure you rinse the print off of any excess resin before putting it in your wash and cure, the pigment is quite dense. Elegoo themselves have been very responsive to my feedback on that.
My fav seller of 3d printers accessories and resins ..great customer service
100 stsrs from me
Had issues curing this initially, remained tacky with a strong smell despite two washes in fresh-ish IPA and a fairly long cure time for what was in there. Tried curing in water and the difference was night and day, excellent prints since.
I’m fairly new to resin printing and wanted an icy blue for some rpg miniatures for an upcoming Christmas campaign.
I love the colour of this, and the frosty quality – especially when the light is behind it.
Supports came off easily without taking any fingers or horns with them, and cured this particular model for about 10 mins. Once hardened, I’m comfortable that this will stay intact when rattling around in a box with other miniatures. I applied some pressure to the horns of this model (about 3mm in diameter at the widest point) and I think it will take a fair amount of force for them to snap.
Very pleased with it and looking forward to printing more!
For small single pieces or for pieces that require glueing together this is a waste of money, you lose a lot of details just simply because the shadows don’t fall correctly and glued models show the joins through the translucent resin. I recommend opaque grey. HOWEVER for large scale models such as dragons this looks amazing! 100% recommend, will definitely buy again for my larger projects.
Since getting my Elegoo Mars 2 in Nov of 2021 I have used many types of resin, looking for one that best suits the printer. Some have been less brittle, sacrificing detail Others are highly detailed but a breath of fresh air will snap bits off my minis.
To date this Resin is the most consistent I have used, I am half way through a bottle and have created a few dozen high quality, clean prints.
I’ve had no fails with this resin either. The minis are durable with a bit of flex, most with most with standing a bit of handling and knocks.
The resin cleans off easily in a quick ipa bath and a dip in warm water makes the sprues pop off nice n quickly. Will purchase agai
I really like this smoky black resin but it really does leave a visible mark where the supports have been. I’m going to try a clear laquer over the finished prints to see if that help, but haven’t finished the project (chess set) yet.
I bought this as a test to try the technique of applying this to an FDM print to smooth out the print. I bought this slightly thicker resin as I wanted to try it with a mix of talc for fixing large gaps, but I also tried the method of applying it to the print and I was astounded.
The pictures show a before and after of the top side of a print, the side that has the retraction test, I wanted to work with something that was terrible to start with.
Blown away by the actual result here, the face has a mirror finish now, although you have to put in the effort to get it to that point, working with wet sandpapers from 120 to 3000 grit.
I also carelessly dabbed the resin on the side to see the effect on layer lines and it’s just astonishing.
Really pleased with the result and reading to put this technique into place on a real part.
Before buying this, I had always used a 10:1 mix of standard resin and flexible, but I decided to try this when it was on offer for a price I couldn’t ignore, and I’m so glad I did.
Compared to the non-abs resins, even from the same company, this stuff is far less brittle, and because there’s no measuring to do, it’s easier to use than the mix I was using before.
One of the bottles arrived with a cracked cap, but it hadn’t leaked. I suggest keeping a spare intact cap or 2, and checking the bottles as soon as possible after delivery.
Even though it’s no longer on offer, I will continue to buy it as I’m very happy with the quality.
I have used several different types of resin from elegoo and other suppliers but the ABS-Like resin is by far the best compromise between detail, smell and price.
For a long time I was put off by the “idea” of the smell of resin and so stuck to FDM printers, eventually after a friend of mine purchased a Mars I but the bullet and jumped in. The smell is chemically, and almost like the smell of scalextrix cars from my childhood (I hope this helps people of a certain age)
It holds detail fantastically, from large flat surfaces to tiny detail I have not had any issues, it cures well and looks fantastic. Some models it almost feels like I’m spoiling them but painting. It always takes primer well and I am overall very happy with this resin.
I also had cause to use Elegoo customer services in the past and they were fantastic, resolving my issues (not with this resin) quickly and going above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the outcome. THis has given me the confidence and the knowledge that if for any reason i did have issues with the resin they would be there and keen to help!
