Gave 5 stars so review gets read but perhaps case buy cheap buy twice, I liked idea of the magnetic ones that when you finished with them you folded them away for next year but 25 + so went for these, first up if you think you can get two windows out of one kit yes you will get enough net,,,,, but not enough tape to cover both perimeters so you will have to chop bits,,,,you will need the dexterity of a surgeon to fit the net and a scalple sharp blade to cut it (forget scissors). So it’s up will stop bugs for sure but surely will only last a season and there must be a better way, already thinking making frames fitting net to them and using valcro pads to stick frames in place, oh dropped tape onto my window cill it stuck so well it pulled paint off on removal so adhesive is good.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis item arrived quickly. In the box you get the mesh and a roll of velcro. 4 step instructions on the box.
You’ll need a wipe or cloth to clean the velcro surface, scissors to cut the velcro and mesh to size (don’t cut mesh too early).
Velcro sticks well, mesh sticks to the velcro. Easy to set up, good wind/breeze passing through the mesh, fine enough to keep small bugs out. Not yet tested against dust and very tiny creepy crawlies, but so far so good. I’ll recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well

Great idea, great product but it’s listed as transparent but it is in fact a black screen. Have reordered a white one!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usershis was a great help all summer, the only down side is that the mesh frays quite a bit from being stuck and unstuck so often, but it still does the job

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersInstalling:
    – So previously I have tried glue adhesion ones before and the Velcro did not stick on for very long, this one has a good adhesion HOWEVER! Do not overlap the Velcro adhesions on top of each other or you will find that it does not stick at all on one end, so you have to cut the overlap and actually size up the Velcro perfectly. It is also worth noting that the Velcro is so good that upon trying to apply the netting for the first time you may end up fighting with the whole thing, it won’t be you that wins. The net always wins. Despite this, it’s fairly easy to install, providing you are good with your hands and don’t have cats or kids yanking or stealing. The only thing I would say is hard is actually cutting the mesh after installing. If like me you live in a new build house where space is of luxury, you gotta be very good with your hands and a good pair of textile scissors to get a clean cut. Mine ended up looking rather botched, though I don’t really care about this as long as it keeps the birds (newest evolution of British spiders) out of my room.

    Quality:
    – as it is a cheap product high expectations aren’t always on the agenda. However this product is an amazing little find. While I do have to comment that the netting feels rather cheap, it does the job so no complaints! Velcro and adhesion works amazingly too.

    Fit for description?
    – I bought this for the purpose of keeping spiders out of my room. As someone with a gross and deadly fear of spiders and given their recent evolution in the U.K. to massive birds almost (Australia you can take them back), I suppose this product will work amazingly! Though I have not yet tried it in real world application, the adhesion of the Velcro allows no gaps between the Velcro and mesh so I doubt the spider hybrids will be able to breach these walls. Although now I do fear they will just eat the mesh for lunch, then me following. If you have pets, please be mindful that this probably won’t support the weight of a cat, dog or child and will ultimately send them flying over a rainbow.

    Comments:
    – I have an outward opening window, therefore I have an annoying handle sticking out like a sore thumb. As long as you allow a generous amount to cover the handle as well as being able to reach the Velcro on all sides still, you will be totally fine.
    – good luck to everyone facing these spiders this September, I don’t know if I will get through it either, though this does install just a little more hope!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersNever used one of these before and I was apprehensive about whether it would work. Installation was easy enough. Tried my best to cut the net nearly but now that I know what the fabric is, I’ll just got the market and buy some myself. Hopefully this stays up for some time.

Easy to fit and put up but my cat made holes and pulled it of really easily so does not prevent him climbing out the window. It’s good for stopping the bugs

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI bought this for a small top window to stop night time insects getting in as one of my children has a phobia.

The big window is open during the day and closed at night to stop insects. Our cats come in and out of the big window during the day.

I put the tape around the top window, cut the mesh to size and affixed the mesh, it was all really simple to do.

I then closed the big window leaving the top window open with the mesh covering it.

We heard a thud and then what sounded like claws on mesh and one of our cats had tried to get in through the mesh covered top window.

This resulted in one very confused, and not very intelligent cat, and an intact mesh screen. It didn’t even budge at all.

So if you are wondering how well it sticks, I can tell you that a cat won’t budge it.

No cats were harmed in the testing of this product.

    Laughed at, but not harmed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSuper easy to install and I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I got the 1.1 instead of 1.0 as others had mentioned the 1 meter falls short. It’s supposed to be pulled taught so I think the 1 meter would have been OK but I’d suggest the 1.1 if yours is 1 meter. Cleaned the window, stuck down the adhesive, put the screen up and pulled it away a few times (as I said a bit of a perfectionist) and there was no snagging or anything. Really great product for the price considering the price of others! Even if it doesn’t last for ages you could easily just replace the netting and still use the adhesive hooks with any insect netting. Amazing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really pleased! Super easy and can't see it!

Does the job but the sticky strips lift if the netting is taught. You get alot of sticky strips so can reapply but not ideal if you intend on lifting away the netting to open and shut window as it will pull on the sticky strip and eventually loose it’s stickiness. Better for window that permanently slightly ope

I previously had this really easy magnetic window screen so compared to that I did find this quite tricky to install. Applying the adhesive was fine, it was sticking the mesh to the adhesive that was as struggle, trying to line it up right and then also cutting the mesh was really hard, scissors werent super effective but all I had really. I am pleased with the finished product, it being white means it lets a ton of light into my room, I am able to open occasionally lift up the mesh and reapply when faffing w the window. overall am pleased (:

This time the fly screen material was black rather than white and I was a bit dubious about the colour, but in fact I think it looks better in black and is far less noticeable.
Didn’t think the tape was as good as I ordered last time, rather thin and smaller barbs on it. The last tape was much more sturdy and had Tesa written on the backing paper, this one had nothing written on it and looked like a cheap version.
Apart from that it works well and keeps those horrid spiders out.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo i’ll start by saying these do the job they are intended for. Flying insects in the house drives me potty, but in Summer, you need the windows open. I live near water so there is an abundance of flying creatures which seem to love an open window. Once installed, ive had my windows open constantly with no unwanted visitors. So from that perspective alone, great buy, that did exactly what i wanted.

Its a very basic concept though, which is probably over priced and looks a little cheap. Its a simple piece of mesh fabric, with a small roll of velcro tape. You cut the tape to size and stick to the frame surrounding the window. Once the velcro surrounds the window, you cut the mesh to size and simply stick it to the velcro to cover the window. Mesh allows airflow, whilst blocking most other items from entering. To close the window, just peel the mesh from the bottom strip of velcro to allow to reach the handle. Then when re-opening, just re-seal the mesh to velcro. As above, looks a bit meh and is very basic, but its done exactly what i wanted, so i cant really complain.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersLike the title says: the dimensions are actually 1.10m x 1.10m, NOT 1.30m x 1.10m. I was able to get somebody to cut and sew the net to fit my window, which has the dimensions 1.20m x 0.5m. It fits pretty well with the sew.

As far as the look of my net goes from the outside: I walked out of my house a small distance and from where I looked, upwards, it sort of looks like clingfilm (saran wrap), with the sew line. If the sew line wasn’t there it’d look pretty decent.

I won’t deduct anymore than a star for the false dimensions because it seems to work fine anyways.

I cleaned my window with a slightly damp dish cloth and a dry microfibre cloth, before using the tape. The tape sticks well and the net attaches to the tape pretty well, kind of like Velcro.

Update: After using it for about half a year I can safely say it works really well. I definitely recommend it, I haven’t had a mosquito or bee come in through my window in months. Just make sure it fits your window properly!

I bought this as I grew tired of insects flying into my room at night.

Velcro tape can be absolute hell to remove so I did not use it. I decided to get some blu-tack in white and create a line of it around my window, and press the net into that line. At intervals around the frame, I then added extra blu-tack on top so it would hold better. It’s not too difficult to lift up a small area to open and close the window. Keeps everything but the tiny tiny flies out and works great for the price.

Golden Review Award: 122 From Our UsersOn behalf of myself and my hamsters, I would like to thank the brain of whoever invented this incredibly magical creation. I can now safely exist in my bedroom with the window actually open without having to fight an eight legged demon for mere access to fresh air. Having this beautiful ability has helped my asthma dramatically so I bow to thee!

HOWEVER, a little warning for those who have their window permanently open a small amount… spiders *chills* really like that little gap between the netting and the window… so much that I spent most of September saying ‘Good Morning Annie’, ‘Goodnight Dave’ to my two resident giant great house spiders. Although they look like death itself, they make pretty good therapists and the netting made social distancing a VERY important possibility.

(For those interested, Annie and Dave started having ‘parties’ including other GIANT great house spiders to the point where I wasnt sure who’s leg was who.. Sadly I was informed of the potentially horrific outcome of said ‘parties’ by my grandmother and promptly served verbal eviction notices to all residing behind the great magical netting and they left the next day!)

    Overall:

~ Strong Adhesion! I have even left the window open when it was heavily raining and during high wind.
~ The netting holes are small enough so you have no visitors, although I have noticed some tiny spiders hanging around my curtain *not babies.. I hope*
~ Although the holes are small the netting still allows a decent amount of air flow and dramatically helps with breathing if you’re an asthmatic.

    100% Recommend!

Annie, Dave.. if you’re out there,
I hope you and the kids are well
    Take care xoxo

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersThis is an absolute life saver. The white colour isn’t invisible but it’s pretty close, so you barely notice it’s there. I used this for my windows so I could open them in the evening and leave the lights on, without attracting flies. The mesh is 10/10 for stopping houseflies and mosquitos, and maybe 8/10 for stopping other insects. I find that some tiny midgies do still find there way in, but it is such a vast improvement on life without the mesh that I don’t care. The only down side is the adhesion – the tape doesn’t seem to do very well with variations in heat (which is a bit annoying in England!). I’ve had the mesh up for a week now and since we had highs of 26 degrees and lows of 14 degrees – the tape has peeled away from the window and doesn’t want to stick back. I’ve fixed this by using command strips which are much stronger – but it was a pain to do and required quite a few packs of strips. This isn’t the end of the world, but ideally the whole product would be fit for purpose and I wouldn’t have needed to buy extra bits. Still recommend this product (but also buy command strips to save yourself a headache!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Absolute life saver when you live by water!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI’ve had two packs of these covering three windows up for four years now. They’ve withstood stormy weather on days when I forgot to close the windows.

I live next to a large area of woodland and the letting agency has installed a large security light on the side of the building that stays on all night. This attracts all kind of strange and annoying insects from the woodland, and my flat was getting invaded every night if I left my windows open.

These nets put a stop to that. The mesh is very fine, soft, and flexible. Only insects that are barely big enough to see can get through it. I’ve had no problems with the adhesive – like I said these have withstood four years of use including stormy weather.

The only downside to this product is that it’s really designed for European windows than open inwards, whereas most British windows open outwards. It is possible to cut the mesh in such a way that it has enough slack for you to be able to reach out and grab the window’s handle. You don’t want to install this tightly if you want to shut the window. The mesh is delicate so will degrade quickly if you keep peeling it off the adhesive to open a window.

After four years the mesh has collected a lot of dust, leaves, webs, and dead spiders. I’m now happily ordering replacements knowing they’ll be good for another four years.
