This product really works. Keeps the garmin in place on dashboard. Does not slide or move about.

Excellent purchase. The non-slip base is weighted so it doesn’t slide around when you’re driving. The ‘beanbag’ style base is designed to fit on most curved or flat car dashboards.

I bought this product for my grandson who at 18 years old had just passed his driving test. He already hade been given the actual Garmin sat nav previously so I decided to buy him the mount. It has been a big success and his first drive was from Shepton Mallett in Somerset to Newark in Nottingham . He said the mount had worked admirably. !!!

What a great stand – do not have to sunction to the windscreen any more – no more stat–nav falling off the screen when its hot of screen is damp. This stand is more, so much more the thing to have. It sits nicely on top of the dashboard and does not move a millimeter at all. Also have used it with the sat nav sitting on the passenger seat – also it did not move / shift / fall over at all.

My best purchase of the year – so, so practical. I very much recommended to any driver, leisure, professional drivers as their 1st choice for use.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was skeptical when I bought this as I thought it would slide around on the dashboard, but I’m pleased to say it absolutely doesn’t! The first time we used it we even tried a few sudden movements on an empty street and it stayed put.
It took a while for my husband to get used to having to put it together and then undoing it afterwards, but now he thinks if the best mount ever because it leaves no marks, no sticky residue, it doesn’t need to be installed permanently which lowers the risk of theft, and you can always just shove it under your seat if you can’t be bothered to pull it apart.
Great little solid gadget for the price and would totally recommend it and/or bug again when the time comes for it to be replaced (which judging by it’s sturdiness will probably be well a few years in the future)

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersNuvi 2595. If you can cope with a fairly monstrous blob on your dash, then this will solve the problem of how to mount your Garmin. For me, the vent-holder won’t work on my car’s vents, the windscreen sucker occasionally drops off (never at a good time) but this holds my sat nav perfectly. I’ve seen a YouTube video of a dude accelerating with one of these placed on a sloping dash so I put mine on the sloping bit. It fell off the first time I properly accelerated onto a busy roundabout – not that I drive like that often. Lesson learned. It now sits a little further away from me than is ideal but on the flatter bit of the dash and it is steadfast. My problem now is how to keep the heavy sat nav power lead from flaying around.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBut it works ! How ? What socery is this? I was tired of my sat nav unpluging from the suction pad on the window and landing on my lap – not great when you are on a motorway. I tried everything but nothing kept the beggar on. So I turned to the interweb to see if this was a common problem and if there were solutions out there. There were apparently, called the beanbag mount. So I searched Amazon, and found this. BTW, if you ever wonder why you should review stuff, well here is the reason. I bought this because of all the reviews – so thank you reviewers ! (And now I am adding mine). So it arrived and I looked at it and thought, how the hell is this going to work ? Was there a special knack to it, where are the screws, the stickers, the weird way to fix it so it works. Well there isn’t one. I clipped my sat nav in and plonked it on the sloping dashboard (literally just plonked it), and then went for a long ride to test it, on rough roads too. It did not move a centimetre. It just sat there like a piece of advanced nanotechnology melding to the surface. So it works. How ? No idea. And I do love something that works. Obviously if it gets bored and leaps up and attaches itself to my face and inserts an alien in me, I will report back. But for now I am content.

Bought a new garmin seven inch sat nav and saw this while I was searching. Although reviews I read were positive, I was a bit wary as most reviewers had smaller lighter units and I wondered if it would cope with theextra size and weight of a seven inch model. I need not have worried. Even though my dashboard has a slight slope and is of a textured finish, this mount doesn’t budge at all even under heavy braking or cornering. When parking it just lifts off the dash effortlessly, leaving no mark and you can pop both it and the sat nav into the boot, I have a bag that holds both, though it would easily slip into a glove box. When ready to go again just pop it back on the dash, no fixing or tightening and that’s it. Looks pretty chic too in my opinion. Last but not least, gone are the suction marks on the windscreen that alerts any passer by that though the sat nav is not seen it’s likely to be in the car. Well satisfied and I would recommend it without hesitation.

An absolutely fantastic mount for the Garmin that keeps your view clear at all times and doesn’t budge in the slightest. I have tried window mounts before but my car has a windscreen that is quite far away from me and a sat nav stuck on any part of it is too much of a distraction for me.

This mount is incredibly simply to use, and you can just plop it anywhere on your dash, no suction cups, pads or glue required! The ball and socket mount is simple but means you have an endless number of options to mount just the way you like it.

As the voice guidance is very good on my sat nav, I keep it just slightly out of view near the middle of my dash. If at any point I misheard something or the lane guidance pops up, a minor movement of my eyes is all it takes. It also eliminates those tell tale ring marks from the windscreen that may as well act as a screaming invitation for thieves to break a window on the off chance you left it in the car (who really takes it with them when they’ve parked away from home?!)

I put it to the ultimate test in an abandoned old car park, flicking the steering wheel violently and braking hard and it just didn’t budge. I have the utmost confidence that it will stay where I leave it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this for the Garmin Nuvi 2959 LMT but I think this will fit many more devices.

The suction cup that come with the GPS device is too inconvenient as it’s attached to the car’s windscreen and is too hard to reach and operate.

From looking at the picture I though the mount would be much bigger and heavier and I was surprised upon opening the box to find it not that heavy nor large.

In fact we have taken it with us on a trip over sea and it fit well into the front pocket of our suitcase (as you can detach the hard plastic part that attaches to the GPS device from the base).

As for performance, it definitely exceed my expectation. It stays put no matter how fast you drive, how hard you break, how sharp a turn you take. It won’t move!

Even better, it’s agile, you can move it around easily, operating the GPS is a dream now that it’s within arm reach. When you are done with it, the entire thing (the mount, the GPS decive, the cable can fit into my glove box in 1 piece so the next time i need to use it, there’s no fiddling around.

If you look for an easy, convenient solution to mount and operate your GPS device, look no further. This is the ONE!

I had been very frustrated with the inadequacies of the Garmins window suction pad. So I then used blue-tack on the back of the sat nav, which was also unsatisfactory because the places to stick the blu-tack were not ideal for visibility of the screen, plus it only stayed in place a short while before falling off. So I find using this bean bag mount is fantastic.

I can put it wherever I want on the dashboard and it never budges, not even a millimeter. The sat nav is secure in the mounting arm and you lock the mounting arm into the base. It couldn’t be easier and so I am very, very pleased with it. I was even more pleased that I bought it off Amazon for 7 less than it was selling for in Halfords!

I’ve bought my mum one and she is equally delighted with hers, for at 84 years old she was finding the window suction pad system very difficult to manoeuvre. Her dashboard isn’t as big as mine, so where she wants to put it (not where I would place it but ‘Hey’ it’s open to choice!) one corner of the pad isn’t flat and has to bend up slightly but there’s still no problem, for it remains securely in place.

Of course I don’t work for Garmin but to be flippant I wish I did for, although normally I don’t think I’d have any skills for selling, with my enthusiasm for this product, I reckon I’d sell loads!

Golden Review Award: 234 From Our UsersFrom looking at the picture I thought this had some sort of suction mount underneath and panicked when it arrived as it seemed huge. Unpacking it revealed I’d been wrong and it is basically a very heavy beanbag which squats on your dashboard like a toad.
Took it for a spin and tried to shift it by some heavy braking but it just sat there and grinned at me.
Looks like my one complaint about the Nuvi 310 has been answered.
I’ll update to 5 stars if it behaves itself and if I can get it through the airport when I next travel to the UK and hire a car! Apparently its filled with small steel balls.
UPDATE – Got it through customs with no problems and it did its toad thing on the hired Renault dash. Nuvi had some slight screen tremor at times as not so isolated from vibration as when stuck to the windscreen but not distracting and the roads do need repairing!
Should now be a five star review but seems I can’t amend that bit.
