Don’t normally leave reviews but had to on this one ..
My Partner, when I came downstairs after using these for the first time, his reaction was *Wow” and “Noticeably different” from my usual straighteners.
    Love the results.
I have fine hair, but lots of it and other straighteners tend to leave a frizzy result – these did not- love them.
Just to add- I’m normally rubbish with hair tools, but these are so easy to get a good result with

I’ve been using these for a few months! Absolutely amazing!!! They are light in weight, but they are amazing on drying and styling my hair. The temperature is adjustable. I’ve always found it difficult styling my hair with straighteners bug because of the shape of the iron’s I found I can cover a larger amount of hair. They smooth my hair effortlessly. I love love love them.

Bulky and loud, and the cable is non replaceable so worried about how long this will last. But it takes up less space and quicker to use than a separate straighter and drier so great for packing on trips.

I adore my ghd straighteners but I rarely straighten more than my fringe as it takes a lot to tame my thick, curly, shoulder length hair. Blow drying it so it can be straightened takes longer than I want to spend so I don’t do it often. This combination hair dryer and straighteners seems like it really does fit a hole in the market. I can now dry and straighten my hair at the same time – saving time and effort.

The instructions aren’t particularly long but it’s also not particularly difficult to figure out or use, so I guess it’s all that’s needed. It’s nicely packaged and straight out the box you can see and feel that you’re getting a quality product.

After using this a few times, I’ve realised that the best time to use it is when your hair is damp, rather than wet or just towel dried. Which means that you either have to wait a while after your shower to use the air styler to let your hair dry some first, or use your hair dryer to dry out your hair a little bit. Both seem a little inconvenient to have to do but never mind.

The Air Styler’s are easy to use. Simply flip a switch and they start up. The first time you put them on, it feels like they are super loud. But the more you use them, you realise it’s not as bad as all that. I think I was just surprised at first but they’re not nearly as noisy as my hair dryer. You just use them like you would straighteners, sectioning off your hair and dragging the styler through it to dry and straighten.

It works well and doesn’t take long to get a good, straight haired look going. I don’t like my straightened hair to be too straight – or perhaps I’m just too lazy to spend a very long time getting it super straight – but I like the look it gave my hair. One problem I had was that the body of the Air Styler is quite thick; It reminded me of the first generation of straighteners. As a result of this, I couldn’t even begin to dry and straighten my fringe with them, and my fringe is quite long. So another instance of having to use my hair dryer and straighteners alongside this tool.

The air styler isn’t too heavy, somewhere between a standard hair dryer and some thin straighteners. With that said, because you have to spend some time going round your whole head with precision (as opposed to just waving your hair dryer around) you’ll either have to take a few breaks or develop good, solid arm strength!

As well as the drying and straightening, this air styler has a cool feature called a shine shot. Once you’ve finished drying and straightening, you use the shine shot to make your hair glossy and give it a good finish. You can also do this after a few days to give your hair a little extra before your next hair wash. You can only use this feature on dry hair and the air styler cuts out if it even sniffs that your hair might be wet. When I first tried out the air styler I had blow dried my hair and wanted to test the shine shot. I obviously hadn’t dried it enough as almost as soon as I tried to shine shot my hair, the unit cut out. So that safety feature to protect your hair definitely worked.

All in all, this is an innovative product that I can see becoming more and more popular as the technology improves. As this is a first generation product, it’s understandable that it’s got a high price tag. With that said, it hasn’t impressed me enough that I will stop using my current tools and replace them with this one. If you’re a professional or someone who regularly likes to straighten and style your hair and has the time to do so, then I would definitely recommend this product to you. For everyone else, I would maybe wait until the price comes down, or just buy yourself a pair of ghds instead. 4 stars from me.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI am a massive fan of GHD (always have been) as they seem to be the only make that work on my long thick hair- however I have not been blown away by these sadly.

I have found the best results using these are on damp hair- but even then it still takes the same amount of time, if not a touch longer, than a hairdryer. And where your hair is straighter than a hair dryer blow out, it’s certainly not straight enough for you to go straight out with.

What I do like though is that it’s a hair dryer and straighter in one- does mean it’s less items to take when travelling, but that only works if you are ok with your hair not perfectly straight. I’ve found that these do the trick for a straight ponytail, but not for my hair completely down (there’s still a bit of a wave/kinks to it).

This is quite heavy so I personally took a couple of breaks, which gave me time to brush my hair inbetween use to help with straightening.

It is quite loud, but I don’t mind that as a hair dryer would be loud. Equally these feel excellent quality, which is why the straightening part feels a little bit of a let down.

Currently priced at not far from 400 feels well and truly overpriced considering what the final result of this is. I do very much like the idea of what GHD have done here, and I imagine with some tweaks it could do the trick brilliantly.

I’d be on the fence with recommended at the current price and with the current design.

OK so they are big and they are heavy but they work a dream! I have long fine hair and these dry from root to tip in a few swipes! I’m super impressed! My hair stays straight for longer and it feels like it’s been done in the salon. It doesn’t burn my hair or singe it – it’s like magic! I use heat protect spray every time with no issues. It heats up super quickly too. I’ve added a photo to show the size difference between my usual GHD styler and these and they’re bigger but totally usable! For 379 they’re everything I could have hoped for and more! They do take some getting use to though.

    Verdict: Strongly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these!!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI like this, and I use it regularly after my shower, because it makes my hair, sleek and straight. I have naturally curly hair, so it tames it.

It’s really good and useful. However, I find that I need to use a hairdryer beforehand to get my hair drier, but not completely dry, and then use this on damp hair. I feel it works best this way. This gets my hair quite straight, but not perfectly straight.

It becomes a bit of a job switching between three different tools, but it works well and the results are great. I find it works well for every day looks

It’s sort of heavy. Much heavier than my GHD straighteners.

I do find that I have less flyaways now, which is a positive

A quality product. It works well with wet hair, making it smooth and soft as it dries. Great for long hair as it gets right to the tips and dries them out well.

Only bugbear is the price. It is a bit much even for a branded salon quality straightener. Can’t fault it works great though. Overall a very high quality product.

I was dubious, we’re always told never use a straightener on wet hair so the first time using I was a bit nervous, I’ve used a few times now and am completely won over, it’s amazing!!

Plug in, push the button up, it’ll take a few seconds but it’ll sound like a airplane taking off but not as loud. The light stops flashing and it’s ready to use.
    While it’s warming up:
I use the GHD Sleek Talker heat protection serum.
Section my hair with the top half on top and about 1/3 at the bottom down
Starting 1 side, I lift a section, place between the plates hold for a couple of sections at the root then slowly slide down.
Depends how much hair you put in but I find it’s dry and straightened in 1 or 2 passes. Then I move to the next part.
Once all that bits done I pull another section front the top and repeat as above.
When I’ve done 2/3 of the bottom, I do the top, but to get a bit of lift, I work across my head from the back forward.
Once your hairs all dry, you can leave as is or finish with a straighten by pressing and holding the round button it changes to a straightener for a quick going over.
I finish with a shine serum.
I have medium length and thickness hair and I’m done in about 20 mins from very wet hair.

I’d say you may want to invest in a heat glove if you haven’t got one or I use detangling comb to lift my hair.
My hair feels silky and light, like I’ve had a professional blow-dry until I wash it again.

I am literally over the moon with this GHD styler.

At 379 this is undoubtedly expensive and considering I already own a GHD straightener, justifying the purchase was challenging. The device is also heavier, bulkier and a bit more cumbersome to use than a standard straightener and probably more suitable for hair dresser salons than home use.
On my first use I spent roughly the same time using this as I would with a normal hair dryer and then straightener and honestly I did find it a bit uncomfortable and had a mild pain in my hand and thumb for a couple of days.

But after a couple of uses I quickly managed a more suitable technique and I can now achieve same if not better results with this in about 2/3 of the time as a traditional method. I also can use a single device instead of 2 and my hair feel smoother and straight for longer. I also absolutely adore the shine function that is great as a final step or even for touching up after a few days and when in a hurry.

Yes, it is pricey but I surely can not think about any better straightener on the market!

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, a tad heavy and best for professionals. But still love it 😅 🥰

I personally liked these due to the fact I managed to go from wet hair to dry straight hair within 15-20 minutes ( i have thick medium length hair ).

    Pros
    1. Wet hair to dry straight hair within 15-20 minutes using 1 tool and not having to find my hairdryer and have loads of styling tools about.
    2. It looks very stylish and is nice to hold
    3. Hair felt very soft and smooth
    Cons:
    1. I found because of the size of the head you can’t get it completely to the root
    2. My hair wasn’t completely 100% straight in the sense of if you used normal ghds you have very straight hair due to hot it gets but these don’t get to the same temperatures

Would I recommend these? Yes absolutely if you don’t have much time in the mornings to be using a hairdryer then hair straightener.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have relatively fine waist length hair and have never used a straightener before. Admittedly whenever I have been to the hairdresser and they have finished off with a straightener it has made my hair look so much nicer, just have never bothered. Hair dryers, curling irons used plenty of those but never a straightener.

The instructions for this are very brief but enough to get you started. The main thing to remember is to towel dry your hair before you start from wet. My hair seems to be really porous and hold on to water for ages so I just leave it wrapped in a towel for a good thirty minutes before I dry it – same as when I use a hairdryer. You need to section your hair before you start drying with this unit and be careful to not try and dry/style too much in one go. This means there is a steep learning curve to getting a reasonably quick dry with a nice end result.

Took me a good few tries but after nearly three weeks of using twice a week I think I’m finally getting there. Doing the back of my head is still giving me issues but I am improving on my technique. I have found I need to take a break after half a head as my arms start to get tired, you do get a bit of a workout as you need to hold the plates closed on the hair and then slowly pull it down the hair. Does give a nice smooth finish and I don’t have the same issue with frizzy flyaways that I used to get. The smoothness lasts for a good few days but I usually need a shine shot top up on day three or four so it’s great you can use this set without the drying option.

Noise level when drying appears to be less than my usual hairdryer but I haven’t directly compared them.

This is definitely a professional level product – but I knew this when I got it. Hopefully this means it will last for a very, very long time instead of having to replace it every couple of years as it has stopped working properly.

You know generally that you’re getting a decent product with GHD and this is no exception, the build quality feels sturdy and strong.

This is a slightly different take on hair styling, in that it dries and styles all in one go. The concept appears simple, however the execution is not quite as simple.

It will take several attempts to get used to using and initially can be quite difficult to use.

The styler itself is quite large, near enough 30cm long and quite bulky and quite heavy, which can make things difficult initially. However after a few uses you’ll probably find yourself getting used to it and becoming more familiar with what works for you.

Overall it is a decent product from a good and reliable brand. Price is fairly high in my opinion consider some of the alternatives available. But it is still a good product so giving 4*s.

I was shocked when I first saw the price of this, however it certainly does it’s well and I’ve just donated most of my other styling tools, because the results I achieve with this tool is simply better. I won’t lie – I’m still a bit surprised about the price, however these really do produce faster & sleeker results in comparison to those I achieved with any other combination of hair tools.

The big draw here is that these dry & straighten in one product – so much faster to get ready in the mornings. If you would like that mirror shine effect that you got when steam-shot straighteners where considered the big thing in hair tools, then these straighteners are just as good being that you start with high heat on damp hair.

I’ve been using these almost every morning since getting them, and in just over one week I can already see a improvement in my hair’s condition. Not only do the smoother results seem to last longer then before, but my hair colour is still shiny and my hair feels less dry & frizzy after use. I would never claim that my hair is damage-free, but these results are still impressive.

These straighteners are helping me to make a style transformation. Yes, I know nice hair isn’t earth shatteringly important, but I do get a confidence boost when I’ve made an effort & have gotten fantastic, long lasting results. These straighteners cost a bit more, but the results are worth it, I promise!!

These are a good option for use in professional settings, according to friends who work in salons and as stylists. They are also great for giving as gifts to people who are really into using hair & beauty tools from trendier brands, that get mentioned in magazines & on social media.

A cool and brand new innovation, helps to straighten wet hair and give it a sleek look . The straightener is wide so it can work well on thick hair.
I would say for those with type 3c to 4c hair this straightener is probably not ideal as it would take a few tries to get the perfect finish.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally like the idea of these GHFs; they can be used to dry and style hair at the same time or as standard straighteners. The box is neat and the item looks stylish in classic GHD style. The instructions are easy to understand and operation is straightforward. I would say this will take a bit of practice. I got ok results first time but think my hair was in too big sections as it was taking a long time to dry anything. Once I’ve got the hang of it, it will be a real time saver. I’ve used the straightening function separately and that leaves hair smooth, shiny and frizz free. A pricy item but worth it if you’ll use it regularly. 4 stars.

ghd Duet Style 2-in-1 Flat Iron Hair Straightener Plus Hair Dryer

Amazing. Reminded me of the first time I tried ghd straighteners many years ago and just couldn’t not believe the difference compared to other brands.

I’ve tried loads of dryer brushes and never been impressed. I have naturally curly/frizzy hair so usually as soon hairdryer heat touches my hair it just goes puffy – not with this styler.

Genuinely really impressed with how this product not only smoothly dries hair but leaves it as straight as using ordinary ghd straighteners.

    Cons

    – Pretty big – Great for medium/long hair but might be more tricky for short hair.
    – Weight – although easy enough to use, it is heavier than standard straighteners and dryer brushes.
    – Price – Expensive. But could potentially replace both hairdryer and straighteners.

    Highly recommend.

The ghd Duet Style 2-in-1 Flat Iron Hair Straightener Plus Hair Dryer is a game-changer in the world of hair styling. This innovative tool combines the convenience of a hair dryer with the precision of a flat iron, giving you salon-quality results at home. The flat iron heats up quickly and evenly, gliding through hair effortlessly to leave it smooth and shiny. The hair dryer component is powerful and efficient, allowing you to dry your hair quickly without causing damage or frizz. The ergonomic design of the tool makes it comfortable to use for extended periods, and the swivel cord gives you greater flexibility while styling..

The only reason for giving 4 stars is due to the price, which is extremely expensive and I don’t feel they are worth so much. Overall, the ghd Duet Style 2-in-1 Flat Iron Hair Straightener Plus Hair Dryer is a must-have for anyone who wants to achieve professional-looking hair without leaving the house.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve only ever used cheap and cheerful hair straighteners before, and to be honest couldn’t really see the reason for spending hundreds of pounds on these gadgets. However, this ghd Duet straightener, which is combined with a hair dryer, has genuinely gotten the closest I’ve ever been to making my hair look as though I just walked out the hairdressers!

It’s not the lightest of things to use, but it is flexible and light enough to be comfortable, even when using it on long hair that takes a while to dry. I had thought it might take too long to dry compared to a hairdryer, but actually it only took a few minutes more, and that was partly me getting used to using it. And when you factor in that I’d usually have to dry my hair then get the straighteners out, then you are definitely saving time. The hairdryer element isn’t too noisy, and dries well.

By the time I had finished the drying process, my hair looked smoother and straighter than it ever would with a hairdryer alone, but you can also use the Shine Shot button on this to just use the heating elements, for an even more sleek look. What impressed me even more is that my hair remained looking really nice for most of the day, where the cheaper straighteners don’t achieve that longevity. You do have to be careful not to burn your fingers, so they have included a small ridge that lets you know if your hands are creeping too far up while styling your hair. I also really like that this comes with a silicone sleeve that you can place over the heating panels after use, which means you can place this somewhere safe to cool down and know the hot elements are safely covered. It looks really sleek and feels well built and solid. I never thought I’d be recommending straighteners costing hundreds of pounds, but as I say, these have taken me closer to salon-look hair than anything I’ve ever used before, so I am a convert!

This is the first time I’ve encountered a product like this and I found it incredibly innovative: it looks like an oversized flat iron hair straightener but sounds like a hair dryer! Dual functionality hybrid products don’t always hit the mark in my experience but this actually works beautifully – and does impressively cut down on styling time!

The idea is to use the hybrid straightener/dryer straight onto wet hair (towel dried, not dripping wet) and move it through your hair just as you would regular straighteners. The plates are wide and have ventilation holes so hot air comes out to dry your hair while simultaneously smoothing and straightening, as if you were using a hair dryer and brush (but much easier with no skill or practice required!)

I think the finished results have been excellent: straight hair, smooth but with more volume than if I’d used straighteners after drying. The “Shine Shot” button can be used at the end (on dry hair only) and this will basically turn the hybrid contraption back into traditional straighteners so you can achieve a sleeker shinier finish more akin to what you’d get with flat irons.

I love it. Wondering whether to retire both my hairdryer and straighteners now, they seem a bit redundant…

5.0 out of 5 stars SO GOOD! Works simultaneously to dry AND straighten...

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’m always sceptical about using any straighteners because my hair is naturally curly and it tends to take about 2.5 hours to get it all straightened, and even then it’s a poor job. These claim to do virtually no damage to your hair, and can be used when wet.

Inside you get the straighteners, a quick user guide, instruction manual, and a heat protective cover. Guide says to towel dry hair, and then go straight in with the product. The product has 2 modes – a drying mode to be used on damp hair, and “ShineShot” which is to be used after hair is dried. The drying mode blasts air through the vents and does not have the plates heated at all, I believe. I sectioned my hair and went to work. I used it as recommended with the GHD styling oil.

It did dry my hair in excellent time. Once I was done, it was pretty frizzy and still a little wavy. It definitely needed the Shine Shot mode. In this mode, the vents stop blowing air and the plates heat up. It’s fully heated in about 20 seconds. I went over all the wavy bits with the straighteners. The whole thing didn’t take me anywhere near as long than with regular straighteners. I have hair down to my belly button so that’s pretty impressive

The finished result was good. I don’t ever expect a perfect result with my hair as I’m a novice with hair styling tools anyway, and my hair is naturally very curly. I was happy with the end result; it was as straight as I could get it, it didn’t feel damaged, and it actually felt quite soft and silky. It has also stayed pretty straight in the days following, I haven’t even had to go over it again.

Overall, I’m impressed, and these feel like a quality styling tool. The only thing I would say is that it’s a little heavy, and it did hurt my hand a little bit to keep clamping them down and holding it there after a while.

    I would recommend this!

These straighteners are about the size of the ghd wide plates but with slightly bigger unit – they’d still pack great into a gym or travel bag. I imagine they’d be ideal for holiday, just back this and a tail comb and you’re good to go.

I know these are super expensive but wow, it’s a great device for anyone who wants sleek hair. I’m not good enough with tools to do curls with straighteners but I’ve seen them online – I just used this tool to straighten and dry my hair and it worked perfectly. My hair is sleek and smooth and doesn’t feel frazzled.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI finally have saitn soft silky hair, I gave this a try as soon as I got it and have to say my hair has never felt this silky ever!
My hair is super curly and goes into ‘crazy professor’ mode at the slightest opportunity. I have tried many different brands and types of straighteners and this beats them hands down.
The device is quite big and my hair is quite fine so it can be difficult with bigger straighteners to target the wispy thinner sides but it did it.
The device sounds a bit like it’s going to take off when you first turn it on, I did apply some ghd oil that I got separately which helped to protect my colured and bleached hair.
It dried really quickly and then I used the shine shot button just to press out the last bits. It finished my hair to a mirror shine.
I am super happy that I got to try it as I would never spend 400 on a hair device but have to say it has tamed my wild hai

The ghd Duet hair straighteners are an incredibly versatile styling tool that allows you to style and dry your hair at the same time. Another great feature is that you can also turn off the airflow to use them purely as hair straighteners. They are perfect for those who want to quickly dry and style their hair with one tool, without the use of a hair dryer.

One of the standout benefits of the ghd Duet hair straighteners is their ergonomic design. These straighteners are incredibly comfortable to use, and they fit perfectly in your hand – which is ideal because I have long hair that takes a while to style.

Another major advantage of the ghd Duet hair straighteners is that they work incredibly well with the ghd wet to sleek hair oil which I also got to try. The oil and straighteners combination helps to keep your hair smooth, shiny, and free of frizz. The oil nourishes and hydrates your hair, leaving it looking and feeling healthy.

I’d say they’re good value for money as it’s realistically a 2-in-1 product, and would say they’re good value if you plan on using them daily – more cost effective than buying straighteners and a dryer separately.

Overall, the ghd Duet hair straighteners are an excellent investment for anyone who wants to achieve smooth, shiny and frizz free hair with ease – highly recommended!
