It was a replacement for a hose that had gone stiff and was not flexible. This one is much more flexible and rarely kinks so easy to use. Seems good quality and durable, time will tell.

This was a replacement for a cheaper one we had that kept splitting. It feels very good quality and comes with a 25 year guarantee. I have faith in this brand and so far so good

I know it’s pricy, but it’s soooooooooo worth it. I literally have nothing bad to say about. It doesn’t kink and it’s easy to roll up. It’s made watering so much easier. And it looks good as well. My neighbours are jealous

The hose bought as a replacement for a non-crush hose which lasted for 12+ years. This hose and appears more durable than one it replaced.
The hose being yellow is easy to see when laying in the grass, which is a probable benefit to the earlier one which was green.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI mean, let’s not get emotional, it’s a hose. It’s described by Hoselock as ‘robust’ and I would echo that. Lightweight it is not. I tend to think ‘lightweight’ in this context means ‘flimsy’, anyway. I bought it to replace our old Hozelock hose, which must be at least twenty years old and was full of kinks and leaks. Well, over the years, its length has been substantially reduced where leaking sections have been cut out and, frankly, we’d had enough. The new hose, compared with the old one, is wonderful. I’ll be surprised if it ever kinks or leaks and I can’t think how it could be improved. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. If you want something which does the job properly without you having to compromise to accommodate its failings, this hose will not disappoint, whereas many cheaper offerings will. Disappoint, that is. I bought a new Hoselock spraygun, which I’ll give its own review in a minute, to go with the new hose and replace the two old ones we had which, while doing the job, shared the water with me or the surrounding area and were driving me nuts. The new one is a joy to use, all the water comes out of the nozzles, all of it goes onto the plants and none of it leaks over me. Couldn’t be happier.

Nice and flexible. I loaded mine onto a Hozelock reel with a corner-mounted feeder thing. Really good. Very high quality hose.

If you want a hosepipe which is flexible, doesn’t kink and is tough. The Hozelock 30m ultimate is the one to buy. Pay the extra, you will not regret it.

Good strong hose well worth paying extra for. Rarely kinks.

The “Ultimate” is exactly what we wanted, no kinks, no squashing of hose

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNot just the yellow colour is brilliant ! Great product from a trusted Brand. So much better than most cheaper hoses. Sturdy but malleable, with not slightest tendency to kink or develop leaks. 20/30 year old fittings re-fitted without difficulty. Wish I had upgraded years ago!

The hose supplied is of a much better quality than the actual Hozelock Garden Reel. This meant the diameter is larger resulting in the full 30m not being fully utilised. There was still more than sufficient gathered in to the reel so happy with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users30 year Warranty is no use..

Warranty only valid in Australia or somewhere, so I paid a premium for a product I should have bought locally. Delivery was to the UK.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersForget extendable hoses. In my experience they are a waste of time as the internal latex membrane ruptures far too easily. This substantial hose occassionally kinks if caught behind a table leg or flower pot but it is resilient enough to bend back into shape. So far, two months in, I have been vey pleased with my purchase and would recommend this hose wholeheartedly. TIme will tell…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had this hose for 3 months now. I have put it on a reel. It easily rolls off and on the reel and doesn’t twist or kink in use. A tip if you’re planning to put it on a reel. Completely unravel it and get any coils out of it before attempting to put it on the reel, otherwise it will be like fighting an anaconda!! Really good hose. Recommended.

Still trying to train the hose to curl around my holder as I want it to, (as it was delivered tightly rolled) I then extended it fully to suit my rewind situation. (hope that’s understandable !) if you’ve fought with rewinding a cheap hose, it will be.
However I’m very pleased with this hose, no kinks as yet and I trust there wont be, not cheap but good quality.

I can’t say I’ve even unrolled or used the hose yet but the 30 year guarantee mentioned on the picture applies only to Australia and New Zealand according to the small print on the back! The hose seems to be made in the UK by the way, so they clearly don’t wants Brits asking for a replacement after 29 years!

As someone else reported, the packing straps used to keep the hose in a coil are so tight that they have put creases in the hose at various points, so I’ll be interested to see how they develop because they look like the makings of kinks to me!

I was fed up with hoses that kinked and got tangled so I did some research and decided to buy a hoselock ultimate hose but I could only buy it separately from a hose carrier. Then I bought the hose trolley to save me lifting the hose . The reviews for the trolley pointed out about how the instructions to build it were a problem to follow so I bought a ready built trolley . So far so good but the trolley handle will not fix in the fully extended position. But since most of the time I am pulling it that is a minor problem. Both trolley and hose are working well. It is a pity Icould not buy both as a package.

Having been driven to distraction by my old hose that turned into a mass of kinks that took me the best part of 15 mins to unkink every time I used it I decided that life is too short and it was time I invested in a new hose and was happy to spend good money on it. Fortunately I didn’t have to go over the top on the cost front because this hose is absolutely fantastic. It unwinds really smoothly every time and rewinds with no problems at all, I’m so pleased with it and have got all those 15 mins back! I’ll store it in the shed over the winter though I’ve no reason to suppose I couldn’t leave it out but now that I’ve found a hose that does the job with no hassle I want to make sure it lasts as long as I can make it. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who uses a hose on a regular basis.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for a more robust hose that didn’t get twisted or knotted like my old Hoselick hose did and this has more than ticked those boxes.

Is very well made, thick (but still manoeuvrable) and doesn’t get twisted or knotted. Feels very well put together and designed to do the job it’s made for.

The only caveat I’d say is make sure your hose reel can take it as thicker than other hoses I’ve had in the past, so been a Bit of a struggle to wind it round my older hose reel. If you are buying a hose reel for this to go in, def get a minimum 30m capacity one

5.0 out of 5 stars Very robust and well made hose

This hose just wanted to kink . Be careful when you ‘ break it out’ from its packaging. Once on the reel its better but still seems to have twists in it. Its lightweight though, so its easy to drag around. O.k for a general hose of infrequent use. I can’t see it lasting 30 years but I’d be very happy to be around then.

This hose is lightweight (when it has no water in it obviously) and it doesn’t twist or kink like my previous hose did. My only complaint would be the way the manufacturer has used cable wraps to keep the hose in a coil in the cardboard display packaging. The wraps have been pulled so tight it has crushed the hosepipe in a couple of places. Even now 4 months after purchase I can still see where they were. Fortunately I don’t believe it has affected the hose to any great extent but it is needless damage done by the manufacturer in the packaging process.

Excellent quality hose and worth paying a little extra! I had a stretch hose before which was much lighter and easy to store. However, it was not durable and started leaking after less than a year. This hose is so much more durable. Kids stand on it and run over it with their bikes and it’s still all good! I keep this stored outside just wound up around a hose holder and it has fairer great in the various weather conditions and I am confident it will last. I bought a hose attachment starter kit to go with it so that I could have various different sprays etc. Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI feel comfortable enough having tried pretty much every hose and hose connector going. So I can say pretty confidently that I will never spend another penny on any garden hose related item except hozelock. Yes they are expensive, but they fit perfect, they don’t leak, they don’t become brittle and cause your garden to flood till you find it. 5 years and counting on my hozelock ultimate & metal set up. I’m running two sets of these and they are as good today as when I bought them!!!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI originally purchased one of Hozelocks 60m hose reels with 30m of premium hose on it some 8’ish years ago and I’ve only just got rid of it when I purchased this one over a month ago. This original hose I had seemed to get shorter and shorter every time I used it (as it would have one of those kinks in it from putting it away ever so carefully) and had also started to become sticky due to it breaking down with the UV etc with being left out 24/7 365 days a year.

In the end it was getting that bad it wouldn’t even reach halfway up the driveway so I though enough was enough I need a new hosepipe!

I was going to get one of the expandable ones off a certain auction site as my best friend said he’d just got one and when collapsed it would fit in a bucket and weighed nearly nothing yet when full of water it would go up and down his garden roughly 3 times which I kind of liked the idea of. But when I asked what it’s like without an end on it for rinsing the car off after a wash he couldn’t comment as he hadn’t tried it. Anyway after a bit of Goggling I found out that unless there is a fair amount of pressure still in the hose it was start to contract and lose quiet a lot of length.

This was of no use to me as when I have washed the car I rinse it with a constant flow of water coming out without an end on it so it basically dries the car for me as the water just sheers off the bodywork compared to beading up and then taking longer to dry with a microfibre drying towel.

One of the main reasons for buying this was the 30 year warranty on it that I did actually phone up just to verify that it was really a TRUE 30 Year Warranty that covered everything especially kinking which I was told it did.

I see that some people have said that it’s not that supple or flexible as there old hosepipe and that it weighs a lot compared to their old hosepipe….yes both comments are true but I wouldn’t say it was that much less flexible or that it actually did weigh that much more. Especially when you consider it’s probably got more than two extra internal layers than their old hosepipe, so no wonder it isn’t as flexible and weighs a little more…..it has to be made more robust for it to be able to have a warranty that is 30 years.

I wouldn’t do without mine now and if I had’ve known about them in the past I’m sure I would’ve bought one many years ago even just for the fact that it hasn’t kinked once on me yet!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had one of these for years and years and it’s still going strong. It’s a little harder than the new one I just brought, but it’s still flexible and it works perfectly, so I can safely say that this hose definitely stands up to the test of time, so much so that I have just purchased a second one so that I have one out the back and the front.

It’s very pricey, you certainly can buy much cheaper hoses elsewhere, but I have never found a hose that resists kinds like this one so it’s well worth spending the money on, especially given that my old hose is still going strong and I’ve had it for years. I initially went for one of these because I was fed up with kinks and twists that stop the flow mid use, and I have never looked back, or even thought about purchasing another cheap hose.

I would definitely recommend this. You buy cheap, you buy twice. If my old hose (or my new one for that matter) ever decides to kick the bucket, I will update this review, so if there is no update here assume it’s going strong! The 30 year guarantee is nice, but I doubt I would ever have to use it given the quality of this hose!

Golden Review Award: 480 From Our UsersIt’s a strong, heavy duty hose. Excellent Quality product. Replaced a standard hose. Will update to let you all know about the quality.

*Update June 2017: A year on, I maintain that this is an excellent hose. Regarding its ‘kink-proof’ property, I wouldn’t say that it is fully kink-proof, it has kinked only twice. Whilst with the traditional standard green hoses, the kink often leaves a permanent “fold” which makes it more prone to kinking in the same place again. The hose is of heavy duty, I have left mine in the garden for a whole year, and is still in excellent condition. Whilst the standard hose may be cheaper, it is definitely worth buying this hose.

I have updated this review as I feel it’s necessary to let other customers to know what this product is like to own in the long term- rather than just the first week when most items work well.
