Breathing techniques can help your body prepare and cope with the temperature change it is exposed to, and breathing is also great for meditation.
Here is a simple technique you can use before you enter the Cold Pod. You can do this in a comfortable position in an area away from furniture or sharp objects:
- Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth
- Take 30 breaths and try not to pause on the inhale or exhale
- At the end of the 30 breaths, exhale and hold until your body naturally needs to inhale, then inhale deeply and hold until you naturally need to exhale
- Try to repeat this 3 times slightly increasing the intensity of your breaths as you progress
When you enter the ice tub, you can use these breathing principles to help you adjust to the temperature and immerse yourself in the experience.
What is the right amount of time will differ from person to person and it depends on an individuals own levels of tolerance. We recommend you should listen to your own body and proceed with caution at least in the early stages.
You should ALWAYS consult your doctor before using the ice bath if you have ANY health issues.

Having had my eye on getting an ice bath for a while now, I did loads of research and the Clim8 bath caught my eye. It arrived packaged really well, the quality feels really good and the set up was so easy and it didn’t take long to fill at all! I work at home in the evenings so using the ice bath before doing this really wakes me up as well as giving me that mindfulness time in the garden! The thermal cover is great too! I love that as I travel this can come with me as it really doesn’t take long to take down and set up at all! 5*
For a 5’2 lady like me, I could fit another me. For my 6’2 partner, it’s just nice. The manual pump is not the exact fit for the hole. It’s the exact pump for my old swiss ball. I had to manually force blow some air into the inflatable rim. But hey, you have to master the Wim Hof breathing before you get into the ice bath right? Warmed up I was.
Using this product for recovery, excellent product, excellent idea, works well, only downside is that the ice only lasts around 30 minutes and it takes about 10bags to get it cold enough. Even with lid on ice melts extremely fast, however – if you don’t mind buying the ice this works very well and I enjoy using it daily
For context with the photo I’m 6ft and 90kgs I’m comfortably in the pod after a weights session. This is a fantastic product. Strong compact and exactly as described. Delivered on time as usual. Can’t recommend highly enough.
