I was scared using this at first, I don’t mind going grey but just wanted a bit more colour. This allows you to slowly darken the greys until you get just the right amount.

Does exactly what it says. Even though it’s only a shampoo I still use nitrile gloves (reuse them) and leave it shampooed in for longer than the time stated otherwise it takes ages to see any difference. But I would still recommend this product. Also improves the condition of hai

I’ve just received my re-order and the bottle / tube looks completely different, all the previous ones are on the left of the picture and the one now received is on the right, want to know it’s legit before using it for safety reasons. I just pressed buy again so was expecting the bottle / tube on the left to arrive again, so was a little surprised when I opened the same exact box as previous to find a completely different bottle and it’s smalller than previous 147ml been only 118ml
Can anyone advise before I use it for safety please ?
Thank you, the old formula was the best, but I’ve got used to the new shampoo and conditioner formula now, so was a little surprised to see the bottle and formula changed again so soon!

seems to work gradually- but t will blacken your shower- Amazon Driver just place it outside apartment complex and I cancelled subscription only for this reason. im ordering a subscription and not a opportunistic thief lottery.
I recently purchased and tried out the Just For Men Control GX 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner, and I have to say, I’m really impressed with this product. After reading all of the recent reviews, mostly negative regarding the new formula change, I was expecting orange hair, if I had any left at all. However.. this worked for me. I’ve been using this for about two weeks, and yes, the first week, after each use, I was thinking the reviews were right. I could see a light brown/ orange type tinge to my hair, especially my grey hairs, but I’ve persisted, and two weeks in, my hair is darker. It is now a natural looking dark brown which has blended In well with my natural hair colour. Still some grey / silver hair, but that’s good. I will continue to use for maybe another week as a daily shampoo, and by that time, I think I’ll be where I need to be and then go into the maintenance stage, using the product twice a week. So, fingers crossed this review isn’t premature and my hair doesn’t fall out.. I am impressed. Darker, natural looking hair. As a shampoo and conditioner also good. Have used daily for almost two weeks and still feeling good and looking thick and clean .
I was quite sceptical at first but when used on a regular basis the results fairly decent.
Basically this is a shampoo with hair dye mixed in and is a little more convenient than using normal dye and the results are more natural looking. You will need to use it a few times to see how it works best for you.
As a shampoo it’s not great so I tend to use normal shampoo first than the control GX. The instructions say to leave on for one minute which gives rubbish results, you need to leave on for at least five minutes plus. The toughest part to hide the gray is sideburns, top front hair and the back neck hairline. Make sure you clean of shampoo from the face and neck otherwise it will stain a little and it does stain fingers and nails and the shower so be careful but like I said once you start using on a regular basis you’ll figure out how to use more effectively
Works really well. Results after a few applications.
Does the job really well. I have short hair with a few greys coming in at the side. Nothing too much, and to be honest it looks quite natural and subtle. I tried this product more as an experiment to see what it would be like. During the first week, I used it daily as part of my normal shower routine, leaving it in for a minute or two. After a few days I could see results. By the end of the week, all of the greys were gone and all of my hair is now slightly darker, which actually looks good. I keep it topped up by one or two uses per week.
It was never going to change my life as my greys were quite minimal at the start, but it definitely does work, and it simple to use and quite cheap. Your results may vary but for me it worked really well.
As a warning, be aware that it does stain fingernails. To avoid this, I now use a scalp massager brush thingy to apply the shampoo, you can get these for 5 here on Amazon.
A bit sceptical at first, I was concerned the colour would not be natural. However, there was no need for me to be concerned. Its simple to apply, (you don’t need too much), and use gloves – very important. I left mine on for about 1-1.5 mins, then rinsed with warm water. I also used a quality natural conditioner after, not essential but I think it looks better. After 3 days, it worked a treat. By the 4th day, my wife (who btw works in the beauty/fashion business) said, “stop, that’s enough”. And, indeed it was. If you go too far, the colour tone becomes unnatural. You do need to leave some white or silver for highlighting, it works for me! My natural hair colour is/was dark hazel, btw.
As for negative concerns, my (personal) view is:
A) My hair has not fallen out – but I will monitor carefully
B) I have not had any itching, or rash or side effects (after 3 weeks).
C) Smell is not bad like some have said. There is some smell, but its fine.
I can only think some people are leaving it on too long, thinking it will give the hair colour a bigger boost to darker. The bottle says NOT to leave on for more than 2 mins max, (1 to 1.5 mins should be enough) and to rinse well afterwards, and do not use more than once a day. I used mine every 3rd day. I think if you follow the instructions, and monitor progress, you should OK.
In summary, I’m very happy with the product. TIP: Don’t overdo it, or else it might look overdone. Nowt wrong with greys or whites; we all know the ‘silver fox’ look is actually very trendy, but this product helps you regulate how much or how little you want….. Be cool 🙂
Easy and discreet solution for me showing signs of grey
With lockdown meaning barber shops have closed, my hair has got pretty long. My girlfriend made a huge shriek of laughter when she found I had grey hairs. I already knew they were there but they become more obvious if I don’t get a haircut. I decided to give this a shot. I was not wanting to dye my whole head so thought this seemed like a reasonable product.
When this arrived it was packaged really well. I opened it after a couple of days when I was showering. You basically use it like normal shampoo. You need to leave it soaked into the hair for a couple of minutes before rinsing.
I have now used it 3 times and my grey hairs have gone. Nobody knows I use it except my girlfriend. In between washes with this shampoo, I just user normal shampoo.
It doesn’t have the best smell, so I might use normal shampoo straight after using this one.
WARNING – I now lower my body when I rinse this out my hair. The first time, the splash back meant that when I went back into the bathroom a couple hours later, I had dyed my shower curtain black.
I think this product is great for people with early signs of grey, who want a discreet solution .
I nearly didn’t buy this product due to some reviewers saying it doesn’t work but decided to find out for myself. It certainly does do what it claims to do. I left it in 2-3 minutes each application.
Day 1 – After first application I though I could see a very subtle difference but it may be imagination Day 2 – Definitely notice subtle difference but it may not be colour, the sheen seems to have gone and hair looks matt but still grey Day 3 – A definite difference in shade now, hair has darkened but t is still slight and subtle Day 4 – Again there appears to be progress, a touch darker again Day 5 – Now fully convinced there has been a little improvement each day, the change from day 1 is now fairly significant Day 6 – Hair is darker again but getting a bit concerned by the shade it appears to be heading towards black (natural colour mousy brown). Possible a bit of impatience setting in to get to the required shade for maintenance Day 7 – After 6 applications I decided to skip a day. Hair looks coloured to about 60-70% Day 8 – Hair definitely looking darker again Day 9 – Hair is darker and I no longer have the shade concern, it is now looking brown Day 10 – Looking very close to maintenance stage and looking very like my original mousy brown colour Day 11 – I am now very pleased with colour and shade Day 12 – I decide it is now as I want it to be and at maintenance stage. The result is actually very pleasing, it has been a long time since I saw my natural colour but I know that it is definitely close and that is probably the most impressive thing about this product How does it return your natural colour?

As they are a cheap commodity I used disposable polythene gloves every time so no issue with finger nail staining. Staining to shower area is in your own hands, take care during application and don’t touch surfaces with your hands or head until rinsing. Rinse your head and surfaces well before leaving shower. I have no staining to shower area whatsoever. I did on a couple of occasions get very light purple staining on white towels, they washed out but best to use darker towels.
No more grey for me and it does make me look a bit younger.
It really is a war when it comes to the aging process. It’s the nature of modern man to want to look presentable (at least, most of us do!). We want to do it quickly and, if you’re British, without fuss and within the bounds of credibility (sudden colour changes scream mid-life crisis). I started going grey in my mid twenties and by thirty looked ten years older and so on etc. I used dyes (L’Oreal etc.) because until the original ‘Just For Men’ came out, if you wanted to look good, it’s what you did. Times have moved on obviously. After staying grey at the start of my fifties I was resigned to it even though, weirdly, I really do look, face wise, 10 to 15 years younger (very few lines etc.) and when I heard of this (and with some accompanying encouragement) tried it. Firstly, it does not smell like a chemical factory, a major off putter from the process (and for days afterwards sometimes), Secondly, you wet hair, use it like shampoo and rinse it off like normal. The trick is Do It Gradually! Leave a few days or a week between applications and you can’t miss (I genuinely received the odd ”you look different, new shirt?” type comments). Thirdly, if you apply it like this, you choose the depth of shade that suits YOU, (not like someone else or what your mum thinks), It’s about your confidence and how you feel. Finally. IT WORKS, Just remember it’s an aid, not the fountain of youth and you’ll be OK and the battle of the barnet should be won.
Works on my Beard !
Not actually that fused about going a bit grey, but my beard has really thick fishing line like hair and I’ve got some really white patches around the sides of my beard. White as in almost glow in the dark, stand out a mile away…
Can’t be bothered with all the mess and marks from normal hair dye or the instant on/off change, so thought I’d try this stuff…
Wasn’t sure if it was working at first, but the change is very gradual. Kept asking the Mrs and it was a good 5 or 6 washes before she gave it the thumbs up.
Got through most of the bottle now, and still not proper dark, but a much more subtle shade of grey that blends in rather than stands out. Happy with that, though I think it will get darker with continued use.
IMPORTANT: At your own risk, test carefully first… In the past, I’ve never found instructions on dyes saying rinse after 5 mins to work, so always ended up waiting 3 to 4 times what it said on the bottle. So, been doing the same with this. It says leave for 1 min. But for thick beard hair, I figured no chance. I leave it in for about 5 mins, and not had any problems. Could leave it longer, but need to get out of the shower…
Instructions say use palms to apply and I found that if I left it too long on finger tips they would stain. Hence, I use palms mostly and use funger tips just to rub in and keep rinsing them.
Also, fine as a shampoo, no issues with the smell etc.
The performance of this shampoo is excellent! It leaves your hair feeling silky smooth and soft to the touch and easy to manage and it gives a Full look to your hair while making your hair look the best it ever has.
There is a very mild “hair dye” smell when you use this product but it’s a super mild smell that lasts only about two hours at most. After that it’s gone. So the smell does not linger and it diminishes altogether in about two hours. It smells on the same level as any other normal shampoo you buy on the shelf which contains any kind of Parfum. By the time you step out of the shower almost all the smell will be gone.
This product does exactly as it promises to do. I have been using this product about two months now. Before I started using it about 85% of my hair was ( silver/ grey) .
I used it straight everyday and in as little as 10 days I started noticing a big change on the top as well as the sides of my head .the grey color surely enough started disappearing so I kept using it. After 14 days of using it my hair was a complete total different color. I was suprised and delighted ! I look much younger now. I haven’t seen my normal natural hair color in quite awhile now. This will get rid of almost all, but not all of your grey/ silver hair. Even the box says very plainly on the front of the box That it will not remove all of your grey/ silver hair.
It works fantastically ! It met all of my expectations and more. After 14 days of using it my hair was darkened very satisfactorally to the amount I wanted which was about 97% of the top and back and sides. I can still see a small amount of siver/ grey roots underneath just next to my ears but I’m not much worried about that area at all.
So after 14 days of using it everyday. I don’t use it everyday anymore. There is no further need to use it everyday so I’m in ” maintenance mode” now and I now use it just once a week , now is all that is needed to maintain the color. The other days of the week you use your normal hair shampoo and conditioner as you normally would.
A few tips on using this: Use rubber latex gloves when applying this!!! By all means. Don’t be like a bunch of idiotic guys on YouTube who made videos after using it and they eventually ended up with purple/ black stained hands/ fingernails ( I have no stains whatsoever on my hands because I’m smart enough to use rubber latex gloves when using it) I saw the idiots on YouTube .
Turn off your shower when applying it. Don’t be a ” splasher ” so go ahead and turn off the water. This will keep it from splashing onto the walls or the bathtub itself or any other surface you don’t want to get stained. ( this product will stain any surface it comes into contact with enamel, tile, plastic and the surface of the floor itself)
Again I have no stains at all in my shower because I’m smart enough to turn off the water when I am using it. I turn on the water only when rinsing off. I turn on the water get my hair soaking wet, turn off the water and apply, after applying I let it sit on my head for a few minutes then soap up and take my shower rinsing off my body….. then I rinse off my head very last. Using this technique there isn’t a single stain anywhere in my bathroom whatsoever.
Talking about stains: This is a big One. Pay very close attention to this part…… after you apply this to your head make sure and rinse off all areas of your face, forehead, earslobes and your neck. If this lotion gets on any part of your face, neck , shoulders chest or back areas rinse it off as soon as possible…… do not! I repeat Do not let this lotion remain on your forehead, face, earlobes neck or shoulders or your back if it gets on those areas, after 5 minutes this lotion will stain any areas that it touches. So if you have some on your forehead wipe it off as soon as possible, after 5 minutes you will regret it, you will look like a big geeky dork with a big purple/ black stain on your forehead! You will look like Gorbachev from Russia. So to avoid looking like that just rinse it off those areas as soon as you can after applying it. ( forehead, face, neck, shoulders, chest, back, arms) and you will be fine. I’m smart enough to do this so there is no stain on my forehead that looks like a map of Russia.
Gentlemen I wish you all the success in the world of using this product! It’s highly recommended and performs great! In about 14 days you should see some major changes in all areas. Once your hair reaches your desired amount of color change then you can switch to ” maintenance mode” and use it only once a week will be fine after that.
Don’t forget to use rubber latex gloves!!! Turn off your shower when using, don’t be a ” splasher” you will be fine!

Saw a TV advert for this and instantly thought that it cannot be that easy. I’ve been going grey for about 15 years, going from ‘salt and pepper’ to much more salt than pepper especially if I let my hair grow a bit then the grey really overpowers. Anyway I bought this. I didn’t want to risk colouring my fingernails so use disposable gloves. I put the gloves on before entering the shower, apply the shampoo and rub it in for about 30 seconds to make sure it’s evently covered. I then rinse my gloved hands and got on with showering. So after around 90 seconds I’ve finished showering and then take the shower head off and lean over and rinse my hair off. There is no reason I couldn’t stand under the shower head and rinse my hair but having just showered and soaped I figured I didn’t want to rinse chemicals over me hence I do the leaning over and rinsing but instead.
I’ve never seen any staining and my towel has never showed any staining. Anyway, the results….after only 2 uses I could see the difference. After 7, I decided to stop daily use as the grey was around 70% reduced. If I went further I figured people would guess I had been colouring my hair. I’ve continued using this around 3 times per week and have maintained the same look. My hair is probably back to how it looked around 10 years ago. In summary, I cannot fault this. Yes it’s not exactly as easy to use as the TV advert makes it look but it works exactly how they advertise.

I’ve been using for 8 days now and happy to share that it works as claimed. Greys are disappearing slowly and gradually.
Prior to use, I had concerns of obvious hair colour change but, I had no need. It doesn’t look like I’ve dyed my hair at all. The change is subtle.
With exception of my 14 year old daughter, no one has passed comment. She asked on the morning of the 5th day if I had cut my hair or done anything to it. She noticed a difference but couldn’t work it out. As mentioned, it is subtle.
I still have plenty of greys but not as much as before. Also, the greys I have are not all very white or light grey. Some have taken on a light brown and rust colour which blend in well.
I’m not one for using ‘beauty’ products but after seeing this advertised on the TV, thought I would try and glad I have.
I was my hair as normal in the shower every morning but instead of rinsing the shampoo off my hair immediately, I leave in for 1.5 minutes. (During this time, I get on washing the rest of me.)
A downside is; for the past week or so, looks like I have been gardening as my finger nails are stained down the sides and under the leading edge. The instructions suggest gloves or using just the palms of hands. I have tried this approach without success. I really don’t want to use gloves but may have eventually.
Washing the stains off nails can be achieved but, it’s hard work. So, for now, I’m a gardener!

ControlGX is something I thought I’d try after using the original ‘JustForMen’ product, which I found messy and, when I had my hair cut, the grey was back in abundance.
My idea was that, if I use ControlGX, it would get right down to the roots of my hair and, because it was used so regularly, cutting my hair would not reveal any new grey.
I used ControlGX every morning in the shower for 8 days and then every other day in order to get to the colour level I was happy with. My grey areas, mostly at the sides of my head, were covered perfectly and I look about ten years younger, I’m told so, well worth the price of the tube of shampoo.
As for staining the bath, yes, you have to prepare for it but, once you’ve used the product a few times, you’ll find the most comfortable ‘system’ for getting the best out of it without any mess.
My technique. Shower normally at first. Then wet hair and kneel down in the bath with head toward the bath outlet plug while keeping head very low. Gently apply ControlGX (I use a plastic glove on just one hand, otherwise I found my nails getting stained) and massage the shampoo into your scalp right where the grey patches are.
Do this slowly for around one minute. Then let it stand for another minute. While it’s doing this, wipe any spots of shampoo off of the bath surface otherwise they’ll stain and be difficult to remove.
The get shower hose and lay low again while flushing shampoo off of hair and massaging with gloved hand.
Once done, massage with un-gloved hand to ensure you thoroughly rinse.
That’s it. Although hair may not look darker, don’t worry, it DOES get darker as you go.
I can whole heartedly recommend the ControlGX shampoo product and, with the precautions mentioned, you can easily make it a part of your regular routine without any cleaning up operation afterwards.
