Wire rake spines jam in head bracket when closed fully I love the design and look of this rake and got it to use with bushcrafting ‘, it is short and compact and I have had these before and been very happy with them , if I were to improve anything ‘ then I would have a metal locking adjuster halfway down the handle instead of a plastic one because most of the ones on the market have cheap plastic fittings that break and clearly part of the attraction of this one is that it is mostly metal !!!
Overall it is a good value product and I am very happy with it ‘.
It is a lot lighter than next to carry and would take up about the same amount of space on the side of your pack as a bushcraft axe ‘ but it’s a good idea to have if your hammock camping because you can clear the ground of fleas and ticks underneath where you’re sleeping ‘.
It has the usual twist lock on the handle pole ‘ that you get with many hiking and walking poles ‘ and because of the twist lock on the handle it packs up quite small and doesn’t take up much space ‘.
I recommend being careful on the adjustment of the spines though because when it’s fully closed they can seize into the bracket that spaces them apart ‘ and it becomes tricky to untwist every spine back through the spacer hole to open it again !!!
Strong and simple Helped keep my driveway and garden clear of leaves/petals/flowers. Easy to store and long enough so my back won’t hurt. Have been using it for two weeks and did not notice any rust (my area is quite humid), but will need to use for longer to tell
