Bought this work light after seeing one that my neighbour got he’s a professional electrician.
I couldn’t believe how much usable light It give out and the heag of the light can be positioned at every angle.
    Highly recommended in my opinio

Usual Makita quality with quick delivery, replaced one I had damaged at work that had stood up to years of use and abuse also used when fishing and in an unlit shed. two light settings plenty of light what else do you need.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMost useful rechargeable worklamp I have owned, used in worshop, outdoors, camping, loft etc. It stands on base, hangs from inbuilt hook, adjustable head that can be directed almost any direction and angle, allowing both hands to remain free to work with in the well lit area provided by the LED adjustable head.
I am using one of my existing batteries, BL1830 3amp, on 1/2 power it lasts around 22 hours, on full power this reduces to about 9 hrs. On the 4 amp,5 amp and 6amp batteries this can be up to 48hrs half power, 20 hrs full power. All in all, cracking bit of kit, Makita are often copied, but in my opinion, never bettered!

Lovley and bright and so useful. The battery lasts for ever with this. The lamp head moves in all sorts of ways, so can be positioned exactly as you need it.
    Great bit of kit.

Without a doubt the best work light I have had to date and fantastic length of use on a 4ah battery. Have been using it on approx 10 1hr jobs and still not drained the battery 1 bar left on battery indicator. Hanging hook perfect size to hang in back of the van and angle positions whilst sat upright on battery make it great for under sinks and baths.

    Brilliant buy!
I work as a joiner multi,
Excellent when working under kitchen cabinets ect. I actually tiled a 4m2 floor in a room with no windows and no power using its handy built in hook, hanging it from the ceiling. It light up the room like a bulb would!
Fantastic white led glow as well!
You won’t go wrong buying this, its so versatile!

My husband always has Makita tools, They are strong, durable and the lithium batteries are brilliant and long lasting. We have several Makita torches/lamps and drills and a chainsaw all are excellent tools.

I normally use LED head torches, but this light is perfect for illuminating the whole area rather than just where I’m currently pointing my head torch
If needed I would buy this again
Best thing is there is an On/Off button which is better than other makita lights I’ve seen for sale

Being an electrician I’m in lofts a lot !! I have a lot of Makita LXT tools, so having a torch that uses the same batteries, and is good, is a no braine

My partner is a gas engineer, who uses Makita tools, so it made perfect sense to get the torch to match. He uses it everyday, from dark lofts to finding door numbers on winter evenings. It’s super bright, and the battery lasts ages between charges. Still going strong after nearly 3 years of 6 days per week use.

Great torch and comes in so handy when doing small jobs in the dark. Comes with a built in hook and a lanyard and second hook.
A must if you already own the makita lxt ki

You need a torch? Get this. Always in use from taking the puppy out for a midnight toilet training to in the corner of a room marking up where my next hole will be drilled.
Battery last a very long time on a 3.0ah batter and even longer on a 5.0ah battery.

I have a variety of Makita 18v tools and batteries so this was a low(ish) cost extra to get, the hook on top is strong enough and versatile to help with hanging it. Brightness appears to be good and using 3/4 ah batteries the battery life is huge.

Buying this to replace an old one of the same model. That was the best 30 I’d spent on a tool back then and it probably still is 3 or 4 years later – if you want to spend 50, there’s a Klein Tools level I’m intimately involved with right now, but for 30, this lantern is the best money you’ll spend, assuming you have a Makita LXT battery or two.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersMakita can sometimes be a bit hit and miss across the range (coming from a Makita fan), however this is one of the really great product! (Pros and cons review below). Hope the video was useful to show different movements.

Whether your bought into the Makita ecosystem, or you’re thinking of this is your first purchase, this is a really great place to start. Versatile, easy to use and well built being the punchlines here.

    Pros:
incredibly well built, high quality plastics and protective rubbers. Feels like a quality product, and can easily take the occasional drop on the floor.
Provides a full 360 of movement, and The quality of the joints are incredibly high.
there are actually two different hooks included in the package. The first hook is built-in to the back of the light (see photos) and also pivots 360. The second hook can be attached almost like a lanyard and comes separate in the pack.
incredibly bright LEDs, which have two settings. First button press turns on the LEDs to the maximum level, with the second press turning them into a dimmer mode.
even with a 5ah Makita battery, the product is still light and versatile. However would probably be better with a smaller 3ah battery instead. (AllMakita batteries are sold separately, like all other Makita products)

    Cons:
The top of the LED light can only rotate 360 in one direction. Initially a bit confusing, and there could be a tendency to force it the wrong direction on occasion.

In conclusion, a great all-round product. I bought it on Amazon for less than 29, which also makes this a bargain against RRP. Would recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars 🔦Useful, versatile and easy to use!

Cracking work light super bright great for any jobs needing more light on the subject! (Great for lighting whole rooms or under floors etc) Turns out my dog went missing and I used this to search through a river and a huge field in the middle of a storm and it worked a treat found him lost in some bramble of a neighbors garden. Me and my dog would be lost without it. 10/10 would but again.

I’m fairly heavily invested in makita 18v tools so this was a logical choice. Saves worrying about batteries / recharging as I will have some to hand. Plenty bright enough for insulating a pitch black basement and 3mah battery lasts hours. What more can you want?

as an electrician with other 18v Makita tools this torch is great, I always have a battery charged and often work in dark places where this torch is so usefull, you can hang it by you, carry it or put it down with beam angled where you want, last a long time on my 4ah batteries, so pleased I got one

Ive recently brought this for my partner as he loves anything made by Makita, this torch doesn’t disappoint. My partner is a gas engineer by trade and has used this torch so much already. It’s super bright and you can manipulate the torch into loads of different positions to suit whatever job he’s doing. Very pleased with my last minute Christmas panic buy!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this feeling a bit skeptical because other reviewers are saying it’s fake.

The bottom doesn’t have a star printed like drills etc do, but neither does a work mates of mine and he bought his from a wholesaler years ago.
Still feeling dubious, I sent multiple photos to Makita (including the 2 here) and they confirmed that the unit is legitimate. It was then a god send by keeping a cellar lit whilst doing a consumer unit change the next day. Probably the handiest thing in my tool bag this time of yea

5.0 out of 5 stars Confirmed legit my Makita

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have a storage container with no power and as the nights are drawing in I need some illumination! Previous rechargeable lighting has been ok, but with proprietary chargers and no replaceable batteries, have been less than satisfactory. By contrast, the Makita torch is much more useful as I have a collection of batteries to call on. As a torch, it is bright and flexible, and with the battery attached, very stable too.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReally like the quality and evenness of the light distribution from this lamp. I had been using some AA battery powered lamps for decorating and poking around in the loft and they were comparatively underpowered and after about an hour they started to dim. I therefore bit the bullet and ordered the Makita and a 5 amp hour battery which will last for a couple of days before needing a recharge. I know you can power this off a spare battery but as I have two Makita tools and two batteries (!) a spare battery is never a waste. Altogether a great lamp and very flexible in the way the head can be rotated. Excellent.

Mine came in a blister pack with an additional two-point strap with hook accessory that you need to attach yourself. That’s not been used yet, but the built-in hook and adjustable head have already made the lamp indispensable.

The two modes use 12 or 6 LEDs respectively. I’ve found the 6 LED option bright enough and an 18v 4ah battery will run for 30 hours plus in that mode. The lamp is very stable as the battery forms the base, so there’s no frustration with it falling over if the head is angled in certain ways.

It was originally bought as a light source when chasing out cable runs and inspecting floor voids, but the run-time also makes it ideal for camping; two fully charged batteries will easily see you through a week or so. It’s since come on holiday with us and has been indispensable, especially when unloading/loading the car in the dead of night.

Issues? None. If I could change it in any way, I’d add 3 or 4 LED mode I guess, but I’m nit-picking, and overall it’s a great way to reuse DIY kit for something recreational.

Absolute amazing torch. Work colleague had it on site and I was amazed by how much light was emitted from this!! Folds away nicely aswell, the head pivots to several angles and also rotates 360 degrees.Using it with 4.0ah makita battery(not included)and been on most of the day with charge left.

Was using makita DML185 torch previously which was ok but light was more concentrated in direction head was facing. The DML 801 has more of a spread from the leds. Highly recommend buying this!

Great little addition at 35ish if you already have the MAKITA batteries. Provides good light all round, enough to illuminate a moderately large room, for most if not all scenarios. Great for lofts, renovations where power off etc. Has an integrated hook for hanging off ledges/lips/pipes etc but also comes with a longer strap with two attachment points. If you just use one of them the Strap can then be used to loop around larger objects like beams/rafters etc.in conjunction with the hook where the hook alone would be too small. Used with the 4AH batteries this should last 12hrs plus on full power.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am very pleased with this lamp. It is bright enough to work by, even on the half power setting and very light to carry. When fitted with a battery, most of the weight is the battery. The lamp will stand on the battery on a level surface and the lamp head can then be swivelled as needed. There is also a fold out hook which is useful when there is no level surface available. Finally a shoulder strap is provided which is useful when working up a ladder. I have not dropped the lamp yet but it seems fairly robust and at least there is no lamp filament to break.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhat an outstanding piece of equipment which differs from my other makita torch. Working in attics etc it illuminates the working area really well I’ve only just received this item so can’t comment on battery life but I might do that later when I’ve had it a while. If I had just one slightly negative remark. It would be that when using my normal makita torch it had a forward facing light and with even all the configurations available it is a bit trickier to just point forward but don’t let that detract from what is a great light. The joiner/carpenter depending on your location is so impressed he has asked me to order one for him as well so I’m just about to do that now
Hope this review may help someone
