These are a great quality and highly durable pair. The pads are comfy to wear, strong on the outer face and very well padded inside. They don’t move around when running and seem to stay in place well. We ordered medium and they fit perfectly. Definitely would recommend.

I bought these for my Son while he plays football during the off season from Rugby, I was initially put-off from the lower ratings but decided to give them a go.
My Son is 5′ 10″ and we went with the ‘large’ and they fit perfectly! He said the open honeycomb design on the front allows for great ventilation so no sweaty shins!
Ok, so they don’t come with an elastic strap that would go around the calf but in all honesty it’s not needed, with correct fitting socks these held their place very well.
Well worth the money and always read the comments for advice on sizing.

I needed some fairly cheap shin pads for a charity football match so didn’t want to be spending too much. These seemed to fit the bill. My only comment is they are quite wide compared to some others I have tried on, so maybe not great if you have thin legs. Otherwise they feel quite robust and are lightweight.

They are small and lightweight perfect for someone who doesn’t like heavy shinpads.

Met the requirement as advertised and was of good quality for the 8 and 10 year old kids it was purchased for.

Got these for my 9 year old son who had started playing football for the first time. Light weight comfortable and affordable.

These are the most comfortable chin pads I’ve ever worn while playing football. Air cooling with the hole are amazing. Great buy!!!!

Very light weight but so rigid, not sure if this is normal for a shin pad.

These shinpads were for my son as he now plays football at U13 level, he was well happy with them and finds them very comfortable hard wearing and do the job, ankle protection with these aswell which for me is key, as I always wore exactly this type of shinpad when I played football. A great product and very good value for money.

My son has been using a smaller version of the Mitre Aircells but he needed the next size up now. They are excellent quality from a reputable company. We could have bought cheaper from other brands but these were worth the extra (smal) amount.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought a pair of these each for my son and daughter. They use them for training and matches and they say they are good. They fit well and seem to be lasting well. I got xs for my small 9yr old and large for my 11 Yr old.

Light weight. Easy to put on & off. A big plus is no ‘sleeve’ needed to hold them in place (these frequently get lost).

This review is for the Mitre Aircell Carbon Slip Football Shin Pads.

Nice quality shin pads, great for kids and provide a good level of protection. Worth it for the price.
    Would recommend

My son is an average height 5yr old and the shin pad size is perfect. Unfortunately the elastic straps were far too tight, even for his 3yr old brothers calf size. An easy fix, just lopped them off and he can now slide the shin pad straight into his sock. The neoprene soft backing also helps keep them in place, even without the elastic strap.

Nice kids’ shin pads. They are well-shaped for small legs and a decent size. They fit my tall 7yo well. Under football socks they didn’t slip around.

The one downside is the elastic calf strap is pretty weak. It’s easily over-stretched and doesn’t feel secure. The velcro is super strong; great when it’s closed, not so great when it attaches itself to another item of clothing. I will probably cut the straps off and slide them into the socks from now on. At worst, I’ll get my son to wear a tubigrip to keep the pads still.

Overall, nice Shinpads for smaller footballers, let down by the elastic calf straps

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThought I’d wait a little while before reviewing these to see how they held up and happy to report these are still going strong!

As most parents will know, your child will immediately make you aware if something they are wearing is uncomfortable and I’ve yet to hear any complaints from my son. In fact, on several occasions he’s forgotten to take them off after training!

The honeycomb mesh also means they are far less sweaty following a football session, that ventilation must be doing a great job to keep his skin cool throughout training.

6 months on, no signs of damage or wear, they’re holding up pretty well in my eyes.

I am an adult and I play as a casual player and they are really comfy.
I cut off the straps because I use sock tape methods instead to hold them where I need.
Does the job, no frills and I just clean with a baby wet wipe to freshen them up or wash in water and soap if needed.
Would certainly get a new pair if needed.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersIf confused about which is Left and which is Right (we were), this is actually indicated by L & R at the top of the shin pads. Genius!! Thankyou to another reviewer for that info!! We have 2 pairs of this type and 1 pair of the slip in type (he wanted a different colour) for our 3 teens. Middle teen found the elastic on these a bit tight so we snipped it off and tada! they are now slip ins too. Eldest & Middle (5ft7-5ft9 in height) wear large, they find them comfortable for competitive football, still using same pairs purchased in Sept 2018. Youngest is 5ft, so should have medium, but we went with small as he has quite slim shins and didn’t want them too bulky (only wears for PE), recently purchased.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 happy footie teens

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis was something of a desperate purchase. My eldest daughter doesn’t normally play football, but she was magically selected to compete in a school competition at quite short notice – and asked to bring her own shin pads. So I checked prices on Amazon – fairly reasonable – but I wasn’t overly confident at getting the sizing right. So I decided instead to go to Decathlon. Then I forgot. Thankfully, I had Prime to fall back on in my hour of need. I decided to order the Mitre Aircell shin pads online, as they looked pretty decent, had good reviews and were reasonably priced. The size chart was related to child height so I felt I had a good chance of being able to order the correct size. They turned up the day before the competition. My daughter tried them on and they were a really nice fit – she’s 145cm / age 11 – curved just enough to fit snug on her leg and with an adaptable, wide, elasticated strip with velcro fastening. She wasn’t, therefore, reliant on decent-fitting socks to keep them in place. She liked them, they looked good and after I punched them a few times to test them out she assured me she didn’t feel a thing!

Unfortunately, the match was then postponed! So after all the faff, she might not get to wear them for a month or two. Nightmare! The good news is, after she’s worn them for her solitary match, my youngest daughter – who thankfully plays football – can at least get some wear out of them in a couple of years’ time. On another note, they do look great. Which is perhaps not essential when you’re trying to protect your body parts, but it does matter though, doesn’t it?
