Just what I was looking for,had a look at the local garden centre and something similar was 25.00 ,so this for less than 10.00 is fantastic and seems to work really well

An easy to use great tool for those little gardening jobs that become difficult when you can no longer get down to the ground. It may not be suitable for large holes required for full-time gardener planting trees, but is an ideal lightweight tool for me.

This summer I had a project to remove moss on our cedar shingle roof. It eventually took 10 whole weeks less 4 raining days to complete. Due to the roog being covered by a natural material, wood, which is affected by weathering, many of the cedar shingle are curved by the weathering process. They also shrink so there are gaps between them sometimes as wide as 8 to 10mm, sometimess less than 2mm. Even if they are not badly weathered, they are never flat because the sawmill production leave undulating surfaces caused by the circular saw blade.

In order to scratch out the moss between chingles I needed a scratcher of just a few mm wide. To scrape the surfaces of the shingles I can’t use anything wide than about 6cm for the shingles are just too much curved into U shapes. Even if they are not so curved into a U, it is just impractical to change tools which are at the end of a 7m telescopic pole every two minutes. Yes, I have had to work from the gutter lever at the top of a scaffold tower. I used a hand how for first several rows of shingles closest to the rain gutters. Then use this short telescopic hand hoe. Then anything higher than that were attacked by a self-modified tool similar to these hand hoes but attached to a 7m telescopic pole.

So far from being a “toy”, this short telescopic hand hoe was perfect for rows 5 to 9 of the shingles. So good in fact I bought another one the following week because from experience of using sellers on Amazon, some products are only available for a short time. Initially I kept all three of the “Neptune#” prongs but after much frustration, decided to cut off the two outer ones which allowed for much quicker working.
