A little complex to assemble.
Great coverage. I have used this for spraying my drive for weeds and lawns for moss. So much faster than using a hand held sprayer.
If you’ve got lots of weeds, save yourself the hassle and spend a little more on this. It can be a little heavy to get on when it’s full, but there’s no need to fill it!
Some challenges with assembly. Weighs quite a lot when full so maybe only fill to half. Pumps well and minimal moving parts.
The good:

I purchased this item because my 8ltr pressure pump gave up and was unable to be pressurised anymore. The item came next day without any damage and well packaged. It comes needed to be put together and to be honest the instructions are pretty useless other than to check you have all the relevant parts. However it’s fairly easy to assemble as there are not too many parts. My 1st use of this is one of joy!!! In comparison to my 8ltr pressure pump I’m not continuously bending over to pump the said unit, which really gives me back ache and although the 20lts in the Oregon sprayer is over double the weight you are in an upright position so enabled to carry it easier. The Oregon unit comes with two nozzles a jet spray and a fan spray, so far I’ve only used the fan spray. I have found the sprayer with the fan spray to be absolutely amazing and have completed my task within a couple of hours, where the pump sprayer took me between two or three days to do the same area. Believe me though, you will use some muscles that you’ve forgotten about, but nowhere near the discomfort of continuous bending down and pumping to build pressure in the smaller uni

As above really. Smooth and easy to use with minimal effort. Instructions are woeful, incomplete and illegible. Fortunately some one has uploaded a video to youtube
Took me less than 15 mins to assemble (the 16L unit). Came with two nozzles .. pinpoint and wide arc. I find 14 litres is a reasonable weight to have on my back. Pressure is really good. So much more efficient than my previous smaller killaspray unit and it has saved me a lot of time.
Don’t be put off by the reviews saying it is hard to assemble. I have no idea how incapable these people must be. Its simple. There is an exploded 3D diagram, the parts are pretty obvious in terms of their functionality, it all snaps together nicely and just works. Took me a few minutes and was very intuative. It has spare seals and o-rings.

The cost was attractive and it looked rugged enough.
On arrival the sprayer needed assembled. Not particularly challenging fr the amateur gardener. If you get stuck there are a number of videos showing use and assembly on ‘the’ popular site that shares videos.
The two adapters allows you to vary the rate and flow of the discharged liquid.
The arm operates in a ‘pumping’ action, which is easily operated without much effort, as you move around the area to be sprayed.
*One suggestion* – I suggest that you assemble this sprayer and ‘test run’ it with ordinary water.
This is due to the fact that in assembly you are tightening ‘nuts’, which if not tight enough can leak a little when pressurised by the pumping.
If there is a leak ( and I got two areas) – it is simple to tighten the sockets to make them leak proof.
The sprayer covers a large area if filled to the top.
Light enough when full to have on your back. The tubing is long enough to allow it to sit on the ground beside you, if you wish to operate it that way.
More than happy to recommend it for price, quality of service and durability of its life.
This product seems fairly well made and sturdy. Pretty easy to assemble (10-15 mins). It’s fairly comfortable on my back with 10 litres of fluid in the tank, and made small work of spraying my large patio/driveway.
Would recommend for the money.
This product dramatically cut down the number of visits back to the tap and the lever pump meant that I just continually sprayed.
Also the spread of the spray was an enormous benefit.
No real problems with assembly as some reviews have suggested.
Its a bit fiddly to assemble but there are a few youtube videos out there that can help. Once assembled it works well. I got the 16L version but generally fill it to 10L. This sufficient to do my driveway and other areas. It seems good value for money. The only complaint is that the shoulder straps could be of better quality
First and foremost, the instructions are probably the worst I have ever seen. I have “better than 20/20 vision” according to my optometrist but struggled to read the instructions provided. There is an extremely kind gentleman on YouTube who shows how to make it, very easily, in about 10 minutes and would suggest anyone to check him out. Another important “issue” is that there are EXTRA pieces after you have made it so please don’t panic, but again, the gentleman on YouTube indicates this. Finally, I like the quality of this product and with the nozzle-ends, will suit most people. Highly recommend and on a personal note, thank you to the guy on YouTube for your kind support with putting this together.
Great sturdy product, plenty power in the compressor to pump, but my lord the text in the assembly instruction booklet is so small. Im not a guy that uses reading glasses and have good vision but this font must be size 6 at best and unless you have eye of an eagle then you wont read it..
I had to toddle off to the computer and google the assembly instructions.
It wouldn’t cost Oregon another couple of measley pence to make the booklets A4 size instead of A5 so at least they could make the font legible.
The way it is now they may aswell leave the instructions out all together.

I have bought or inherited smaller (5l) pumps for spraying my patio, driveway and other paths around my house. However, the endless pumping that’s required and the need to do this on the ground (ie. take off the pump if it was hanging from my shoulder) has about killed me in terms of back pain, arm ache, etc, let alone the time it takes to keep filling the stupid thing up. I hunted around for a better solution and this oregon knapsack pump is brilliant. The instructions are rubbish but the gentleman who created a youtube video on how to put it together was a god send. Thus assembly took a few mins. Filled it with water and poured in my weedkiller (Gallup 365) and away I went. No more bending over and no more taking it off every 2 mins to pump the tank. I can now cover the ground much quicker and more efficiently and the whole thing is so much more comfortable. I bought the 20l version because its cheaper. However, it really doesn’t make any difference if you fill it with 5l of liquid or 20l, it works equally well because even if you put 20l in, you’ll end up pumping with 5l in at some point anyway!! So why pay more! I’m 5’11” and 14 stone and I could happily walk around with 20l on my back. The straps have padding over the shoulder area. Just make sure you sit the knapsack on a wall in order to actually put it on your back, otherwise you could do yourself an injury. I’m writing this the day after having used the tank for over 2 hrs solidly and have no aches or pains whatsoever.

Now that is out of the way, as a sprayer this is great and well worth the money considering similar ones are more expensive. It’s easy to pump while in use and holds a fair amount. It is heavy to lift when full of liquid so definitely put it on something high up and then put it on, it’s much easier that way. I used the sprayer to spray ferrous sulphate on my lawn and it covered the lot which is handy. I didn’t need to filter the sediment out either as the sprayer has a removable filter which can be easily cleaned.
I would highly recommend this. I ummed and ahhed about paying for one but I’m glad I did now.

This is a decent sprayer for the price. The quality of the tank and components are pretty good and everything works as expected. I have had no issues with leakage but have only done 4-5 tankfuls of spray with it thus far.
As other reviewers have noted, it can be very heavy with 20 L of liquid (approx 20 kg) so if you are mainly spraying a small area of ground then the smaller model will probably suit you better. Otherwise purchase the larger one and don’t fill to the top unless you can carry the weight.
The only negative point is the assembly, which is mainly down to the provided instruction manual being very poor (the images are unclear). I would advise searching on YouTube for an assembly video as once you know the instructions the assembly becomes straightforward.
Overall, a decent sprayer for the money which should satisfy the spraying needs of most gardens.
This Oregon sprayer is a fair bit more expensive than the competition on Amazon, but I know that Oregon is a semi-professional/professional brand with a good reputation, so I decided to spend the extra money in the hopes of getting a sprayer that will last longer and perform better.
The sprayer comes in 16L or 20L capacity and I decided to go for 20L. Now that I have used it, I wish that I had gone for 16L. I’ll get to that later in the review. I took everything out of the box and that is where the fun started. The sprayer needs a certain amount of assembly and the instructions are virtually useless. Come on Oregon, it should be fairly easy to write a decent set of instructions. Many of the people who purchase this product will struggle with the assembly! Anyway, I assembled it after a bit of trial and error; see the attached video as I filmed the assembly for future buyers. Assembly does not take too long if you know how to do it, I reckon about 15 minutes. There are two different nozzles with the sprayer, a fan and a spray. Oregon also supply a few spares with the sprayer, a spare seal for the pump and several rubber washers and O rings.
I filled the sprayer with 20L of weed killer mixture and lifted it onto my back, only to feel the weed killer running down my back. The pump was loose and had not been tightened. This was not part of the assembly as the pump was already fitted at the factory. I tightened it up and this solved the problem. So, be aware that everything needs checking for tightness before using it for the first time. This was obviously partly my fault, but it was certainly not mentioned in the instructions.
Lifting the sprayer onto my back was not particularly easy and took a bit of jiggling about to get my second arm through the strap. Once it was on though it felt secure and reasonably comfortable. Unfortunately, I have arthritis in both of my shoulders and this made it a little uncomfortable to get on. I had a real job getting the pump lever down as it was fixed behind my shoulder, but I managed to unhook it with the spray gun.
A few pumps of the lever and the sprayer was up and running. At that point, I realised that I had made a good decision. The fan spray was fitted and it was spraying up a storm! What a lot of coverage for very little effort. Two or three pumps every 20 or so seconds and it was so easy. The lever is in just the right position and as soon as you feel the pressure dropping off, you automatically pump without thinking about it. So in use this sprayer is a joy! The fan gives a wide spray and saturates anything in its path. I then changed the fan nozzle for the spray nozzle and I prefer the spray as you have a little more control over where the weed killer goes. I think Oregon should incorporate a means of keeping the second nozzle on the sprayer somewhere, so that you can swap if you feel the need whilst working. I reckon most users will end up losing or misplacing the other nozzle.
After a while the sprayer begins to feel a little heavy. You need to be pretty strong and fit to use this for any length of time. 20kg plus the weight of the sprayer is a fair amount to be lugging about. I know guys in the army do it for a living, but most people will struggle after half an hour or so. I wish that I had gone for the smaller 16L model, 4kg less would make a fair bit of a difference, so think about what you are prepared to carry before selecting the one you want. My advice is to select the smallest if you are undecided. I can manage with the 20L, but would prefer the 16L.
I love the sprayer. It is a joy to watch the weeds and especially the brambles getting covered in weed killer! The sprayer is very effective and covers large areas very quickly. It does not seem to use huge amounts of liquid too and the tank lasts a long time in use. No more mixing weed killer every 20 minutes! The sprayer feels good and I have confidence that it will last. Time will tell. So far I am glad that I spent the extra money. If it fails prematurely, I will come back and update this review. For now, it gets 5 stars.
