Short pile
Suitable for smooth and semi-smooth surfaces such as plaster, drywall and ceilings. Because the pile is shorter it puts down less paint and gives you the smoothest of finishes. It’s good if you’re painting a similar colour over the previous one, but if the colour change is more significant you should consider choosing a medium pile as it will put down more paint and cover better. Short pile rollers can also be used with gloss and satin paints on smooth planed wood and metal.
Medium pile
The most popular pile used with emulsion paints and suitable for smooth and semi-smooth surfaces such as plaster, drywall and ceilings (including light to medium textured plasters such as artex). It is suitable for emulsion colour changes both similar to the previous one and more substantial such as light to dark or vice-versa. Depending on the fabric type, it can also be used on semi-smooth masonry surfaces such as brick.
Long pile
Suitable for semi-rough and rough surfaces such as brick, breeze block, cement and render, where the longer pile is effective at getting into the surface texture, as well as interior walls and ceilings (including medium to heavily textured plasters such as artex). As it lays down plenty of paint it is suitable for colour changes both similar to the previous one and more substantial such as light to dark or vice-versa. Can be used on smooth surfaces but won’t give as good a finish as shorter pile rollers.
Extra long pile
Suitable for rough and very rough masonry surfaces such as brick, breeze block, cement, heavily textured renders, stucco (exterior cement plaster) and pebbledash. It gives maximum paint loading – essential for efficiency when painting masonry so you’re reloading less often – and is effective at getting into surface textures for rapid application without missing areas.

Nothing not to like about it. Sturdy and well made. It has both screw and a tapper fitting adapter. Adjustable length.
Any roller can screw or just fit into the end piece, you can also extend the pole to 1.2m if you have very high ceilings or very short legs lol.
This product takes away all the strain of trying to paint a ceiling, so do yourself a favour and order this, you will not be disappointed, trust me 🙂
Great pole and sander the only downside I found is the noise as the pole is extendable when it locks in place it has a little play so when you move up and down it clunks and gets on your nerves after so long
It is an excellent product. Very easy to adjust the length. The head doesn’t spin around like most of these things tend to do (my car brush, my sweeping brush and my mop,) and it made painting my decking much, much easier. Worth every penny.
Not sure how I’ve gone so long without one of these. I’ve saved so much time decorating & no lost quality. It’s a Must have!
Have used this internally and externally now and I am very impressed with this item. It allows good control even when fully extended. The locking mechanism is secure and quick and definitely worth paying that little bit extra for. You will see the benefits when your standing on a ladder trying to reach those hard to reach areas. It feels sturdy yet light. Overall well impressed.
Had the whole of my daughter’s house to decorate. This extender is not only great for high walls and ceilings but makes close up roller work much easier with two hands to grip it. would not decorate again without it.
Its okay for the price but if you use to much pressure it can become slack so have to tighten again. I did 5 rooms with it anyway so did the job.
Great for reaching ceilings with out ladder. My only complaint is the extension would not stay in place but as my ceilings are Low it wasn’t really needed. Hence lower star rating
