Have problems with Ratty, he’s taken an interest with the bird seed on the bird table, don’t want to use bait that might harm other wild life so decided to give this trap a try. So far no success, Ratty is clever and crafty, he likes cheese and bread and manages to pinch it without setting off the trap. The battle is on, just going to need a lot of patience, hope for success in the future.

I’ve been bothered by a very large rat that couldn’t get in to the normal bait stations so I tried something a bit bigger. It took a while (around 3 weeks) and a change of bait to Nutella but I heard the trap shut and some scraping around and when I looked there was a huge rat backside sticking out the trap and it was very dead. The trap itself is easy to use once you get the hang of it, it is very sturdy and it doesn’t go off prematurely when it is put in place. I used the gloves that came with the trap and soon got used to setting the bait. It is very easy to get the dead rodent out of the trap, the clips on the side open it up and the rat dropped out. The smaller poison bait stations appear to have dealt with the smaller rats and I appear to be free of them (for now).

These rat traps are the best we’ve used and reasonably priced. Easy to set up and we put peanut butter in it. We feed the birds and rats have been going for food on the ground and so we put traps in a bush next to the bird feeders. Within a week we have caught 6 rats!

Hate to poison any creature but I tried humans traps and this little mouse was to smart and I couldn’t catch it. I put a camera on the trap and the first couple of nights it sniffed around but didn’t go in. Happily for me but sadly for the mouse he was caught on the third night.
As a child I used to keep mice in a cage. They have a gestation period of 19 days and they usually have about 10 babies and the babies can mate when 6 weeks old. So in theory in 8 plus weeks you could be overrun with mice.

Value for money they do work i have caught quite a good few rats since i got them Peanut butter
is a good bait to use to attract the rat into the Trap and then when u remove them from the trap an owl
or a magpie or such bird that might take the body will not be harmed..

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI keep chickens and as anyone who keeps chickens knows, rats happen. This trap has been a godsend. I will say that it takes about a week of leaving it alone before you will catch that initial rat, but once one has been caught, the rest follow. I have mine inside my chicken shed right where I have seen the rats enter. It’s flush against the wall and looks like a little tunnel to them. I have caught around 8 rats over the course of a few months, one of which was about the size of a small cat! It managed, no problem. When the rat is caught, simply release the mechanism, rat falls out, put it on the ground and set it again! Simple. It has caught a few mice and unlike other rat traps that leave a heck of a mess when you catch a mouse by accident, this was absolutely fine and no mess while emptying it.

I highly recommend this trap and will be buying more.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our Usersgot this trap to do away with bait station,s has i was spending a small fortune on bait block,s the rats came every night for year,s so all i could presume was the rats loved the poison but it wasn,t killing them.so a bought this rat station put peanut butter in it and waited a couple of day,s then one morning i thought great ive got a rat but then i realised to my horror it was my friendly garden robin im heartbroken and ive thrown it away.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersSet the product up using the gloves provided I used some rice at entrance of tunnel and peanut butter as bait, it was easy and safe to set up. Within 12 hours we caught 1.

I’m not sure whether it killed straight away, if the dog picked it up or the force of the trap closing moved it but the trap did move about half a foot, so I question if it really is instant kill, however it did the job so I’m happy, hopefully we can get the rest I’m guessing he’s one of many 🙁

My dog tried to gain access he’s a mid size Cocker spaniel but couldn’t get in so that’s good that was the main reason for buying this type of trap.

4.0 out of 5 stars It did the job

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersThis trap certainly works. Having encountered a rat problem, due to next door keeping chickens, i decided to go for a “Gucci” trap rather than the usual snap kind. I named this beast “Cracky” thinking it would destroy said rodents in a single crack. It turns out however i should have named it squashy as i think it slowly squeezes the critters to death. I have no love for the disease spreading vermin but would still like them to die quickly. 7 caught rats so far and counting This trap does not always kill quickly hence only 4 stars. It is however easy to bait, set and remove your quarry once slowly squashed to death. I would also imagine it will last a long time due to good, strong construction.

That being said i also purchased two Roshield snap type traps as back up for cracky which i placed in my shed. Snappy and Zargon, as i have named them, are steely eyed dealers of instant death. They are both already double aces with a score of 10 and 11 respectively and they kill instantly. On reflection i would have just got the three Roshields with the Froboo only winning in the ease of getting rid of dead rat department.
