Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy dad struggles with reading. I found this for him and it’s one of his best buys! You just glide it along what you want to read then it reads it out to you. You can select the voice you want adjust the volume. He is 77 and finds it very easy to use..

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe device is accurate and as per the advertised description. Disappointed though that it does not support Bluetooth. Takes the edge off an otherwise superb product. (I should not have expected Bluetooth would have been standard).

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLove this product, was brought for my uncle who finds it hard to read, it does exactly as described (reads out printed texted once scanned with the pen). Only issue is the sound is quite low, however earphones were also supplied so shouldn’t be a problem.

I’m sure my opinion will be better over time as I feel some of the issues are user based.
I feel it’s a bit overpriced, but for the help it gives me I’m not complaining. My Dyslexia makes me quite anxious when confronted with large amounts of reading and this has helped immensely.

My 10yr old found this very straightforward to use. It struggles a little with artistic fonts/close spacing as found in comics, but works very well with all books and newspapers it has been tried on. Instruction manual could be clearer on the set up and what the various settings mean.

Ordered for my 68year old brother who never mastered reading, he is absolutely amazed by it, he says it is a life changer for him as he need not wait for anyone to read any correspondence he may receive he will be able to do it himself he just can’t stop raving about it. Thankyou

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product has been a life saver for me. I’m a dyslexic Law Student and struggle so much with comprehension. This pen has been a life saver for me, scan over the text and it will read out the text on screen, you can get to control the volume (fast or slow) of the text been read out, can also record as well.

The feature that I enjoy is the dictionary, it uses the Collins dictionary and explains what ever word you want to be explained to you.

Got this for my son, who has dyslexia. He is about to start High school. Very useful. New found passion for reading and really likes the dictionary function. Only wish it is was Bluetooth enabled so he could used it in conjunction with air pods.

It was easy to use, would have been better if it could read text messages also not just fir exams…but as it was designed for exams I still wouldn’t mark it down …also would be great if I could use it wireless. Other than that good product.

Absolutely fantastic piece of kit that I use with my dyslexic students. It is important to get the correct positioning of the pen, and to move the pen smoothly in order to get the best accuracy. Great for dyslexic individuals, or anyone who struggles to read.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGiven to an adult in their 60’s, with severe dyslexia. I had to help with the initial setup, and after showing them a few times, and multiple tries, they are beginning to get use to holding it and the speed to move the pen. They are so pleased to gain some independence on reading food labels and catalogue text (rather than just relying on pictures for information). The pen is not 100% fool proof, and sometimes can get jumbled as it scans, but persistent is key. Thank you for changing their outlook in life, and allowing them some freedom and insight into the written world.

I bought this item for a neighbor who suffers from dyslexia and after using it and showing them how to use it i can easily say that this is a fantastic piece of kit. You simply scroll along the text and the pen tells you what is written. It has quite simply changed their lives. I highly recommend this c-pen.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product has been an absolutely amazing product for my son and has opened up a whole range of books and magazines he is now able to read. he is able to use the C-pen at school using the head phones supplied and the neat design really helps. I can recommend this product enough if you have a problem or you know someone with a reading problem it will really help. it does take a bit of practice to get the angle of the camera correct but once mastered works like a dream.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersMy son suffers with irlens and severe single word dyslexia, we wanted to wait until he started secondary school to decide about a c pen v irlens glasses. we decided to go down the c pen route best choice EVER !!! What a difference, he can access the dictionary which also comes with spanish, we have been told dyslexics find spanish an easier language to assimilate (not sure how true that is)he loves it it has allowed him to be a independent learner, keep up with the class which had increased his confidence all in the space of a week!! Why did we not invest in this earlier!!! Crazy!!! His secondary school so far have been supportive in him using his pen. It has a left and right handed function. The only down side is it doesn’t read teeny tiny print but to be honest he will rarely come across that in school so that is not a issue for him. I WOULD definately recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous lifesaving invention!!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersAs a dyslexic student in High School, this C-Pen is a real life saver. The pen is very neat in design and lightweight which is easy to fit in my pocket or pencil case at school. As well as being a great tool for helping me with reading the text, the Pen also has the function to take notes from the text I scan and load them onto my computer where I can edit them for my exam revision. The pen is easy to use and to get started. I use the Pen to scan a whole paragraph and then listen to the voice read back the paragraph to me which helps with the flow and understanding of the text, rather than scanning just one sentence at a time. With the neat, small headphones I am able to use the Pen in class without distracting anyone around me.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this pen for my husband who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and struggles with reading. It is perfect and has transformed his life. It is discrete, portable and easy to use. The non robotic voice is easy to listen to. The robust carry case fits easily into a pocket and the headphones mean he can use it anywhere. It works perfectly on all reading matter – newspapers, books and magazines. It is worth every penny and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI purchased this for my son who has dyslexia so he can be more independent with his reading. He is only really using two of the modes (text reader and dictionary) so I can’t comment on the file scanning or recorder modes yet. In short, it works really well, I am very impressed with how quickly and accurately it can read words and sentences, quite amazing actually. I haven’t used any other reader pens, so I can’t compare, but am super happy with this one and would recommend. It’s very easy to use, it’s a good size, the speaker is loud enough, and the voice is clear, (although I find it a little fast and robotic on the normal speed setting and way too slow on the slow speed setting). Was really happy that it came with ear pods as well. I only really have one barely negative comment and that is that the battery doesn’t seem to last as long as I thought it would. I haven’t measured it or anything so maybe just my perception. Anyway, was a great purchase and has been a game changer for my son!

Golden Review Award: 143 From Our UsersI brought the C-Pen Reader for my dyslexic son to use during his first year at secondary school. He was a little unsure at first weather or not to take it into a classroom environment where he’d be using it surrounded by his peers. However, once he’d worked out how easy the controls are to use and how discreet it is, it’s now a permanent and essential piece of equipment in his school bag.
As the other reviewers have stated, it will read single words along with full sentences and if forgotten, it’ll hold previous scanned words in its memory. It comes with a protective case and headphones, although if he wishes not to use them, he can adjust the sound of the ‘female voice/reader’ so not to interfere with lessons. It is very comfortable to hold and the colour allows it to camouflage itself amongst other essentials and it will fit neatly into a pencil case. I’ve also looked on-line and seen that he could download other languages to its memory (although please check with the website first as how easy this is I don’t know as his is still in English).
The only downsize for me was the price when I was considering buying it but now after taking the plunge and seeing how it’s helped him transition from primary school, it’s well worth every penny I paid. The purchase has given him piece of mind and he now has his C-Pen to rely upon instead of the awkward embarrassment or time consuming technic of stopping to ask friends or teachers what the text in books or work sheets say.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersAs a dyslexic I can say this device is very helpful wish they had these when I was at school. the c pen is very easy to use no real setup needed it really does read whole sentences for you . What i really like about this device is the dictionary function it is so fast giving the description of the word! It has a lovely sleek design and is very lightweight. The only thing I would ask for is Bluetooth built-in ! but apart from that i think its an excellent product. every dyslexic should have one especially if you struggle with your reading this will really help you out all schools look at these I believe this would really help students with dyslexia.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersReceived the product an hour ago, and in use so far, working very well and surprisingly accurate.

I was quite hesitant at first as was not sure about the scanning accuracy of the pen, but I rang Scanning Penshop and they were quite helpful in addressing questions and concerns.

The 3 features I like and are quite useful:

    1) the fact that you can scan and store text stand-alone on the device’s memory without having to be connected to a device (bluetooth or USB)
    2) the keyboard mode for scanning text right onto a word processor, when plugged in to my MacBook via the USB cable provided
    3) and the built-in dictionary
