Typical roughneck tool, overbuilt means its a little heavier than an alternative item but its a good design and works well.
Shaft was damaged on mine during delivery which was disappointing but i have used these before in work and the design means they are very effective diggers, a lot more versatile than you would expect and more use than just trenching, its a precision digging tool, recommended for any gardener working around existing plants .

I need to clear a wide trench. I though this might come in handy. The long handle is a bonus so you can stand higher up and still get the the bottom of the hole. Cuts through the soil well. I’m female and while it’s not light weight I find it easy to use. Come with a nice little cover to protect the shovel tip

This tool is so worth getting if your planning on digging a trench !
I had to dig out a 60 cm deep trench 8m long to lay cables in my back garden, this along with other tools used saved the day , as the handle is long and the end spade element is at the right angle you find yourself not bending over so much, as I do have a weak lower back this really helped . As thought came across lots of rubble , so do be afraid to use this tool to batter the rubble and get it out .

Bought this to dig a 100cm depth post hole in heavy clay soil.

Job completed today with ease and not a single back ache!

I don’t know how i ever coped without one of these.

Helped me out massively with digging a new trench, good long handle so didn’t end up with massive back ache. good robust quality piece of equipment. will come in handy again soon on future projects

The shovel is good but was packaged very tightly, requiring you cut off the tight wrapping. Inevitably cutting this off leads to cutting the black foam insulation on the shovel itself, at the top and bottom. Ive taped it up but something for customers to be aware of

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat bit of kit does make the job easy, I had to dig a 30 foot trench for armoured cable for a car charger and this thing won hands down. Needed a pick axe also for stones.

Really useful tool for digging of trenches. Had an amazing plan to dig trench for new electric for my garage. This has been really useful for removal of soil and making the path for trench.

It has made things so much easier. Albeit still really hard work for a non gardener.

Good length and solid handle and grip. Used for digging trenches between conifers for irrigation systems. I guess it could be used for anything really. Our soil is heavy clay and this cuts through it like butter. Ordinary spades make heavy work of it but this is quite narrow and very sharp so makes the job easy.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersUse a spade to cut the edges and lift out the spoil with this tool.
The handle is nice and long and big enough to hold comfortably. The spade end is at a good angle to get a flat trench base without having to kneel down.
I would have liked more ‘land’ to put a foot on to push the tool into the ground but if you regard it as a removing tool. not a digging tool, it did all I asked of it.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our Usersgreat – i used this with the bulldog cable laying shovel. angled head made clearing the trench almost effortless… glad i ordered it. creaked a little when i put more demand on it , but stood up well.
