About Us

The moment you decide to have kids, life gets very complicated. From setting up a nursery and finding a pediatrician, to drop offs, pick-ups, and playdates, it all goes totally haywire. But thanks to Safety 1st, there’s one thing that’s never complicated: safety. We make it easy to get what you need to take care of your little ones. When it comes to parenting, few feelings are as terrifying as the first time a parent puts a baby in the car for the ride home from the hospital. That’s why we invented the “Baby on Board” sign. It gave rise to millions of crazy spoofs. But more importantly, that little sign with the big message led us to where we are today: a company obsessed with the safety and well being of children in cars, homes, and everywhere in between.

Got my 3 year old his first big boy bed and after him rolling on to the floor twice in the first two nights, and then seeing him lying width ways instead of length ways to avoid falling out again decided to get one of these so he can rest easy through the night. You’re gonna need a bed frame so this can lye in the recess. With the weight of the mattress and the recess it will stop a child from rolling off but only if they know to do so. Don’t get this if your child is not old enough to work out it’s not meant to be leant up on and is just a barrier to learn/warn them they’re too close to the edge.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this to use on a fold up bed used by young grandchildren when they visit me.
I had to use some ties to keep it in place because the fold up bed mattress is light and the bed frame has no edge.
I am sure this will be the case with all similar devices.
It did the job, it folds up easily.

We use this for our 2 year old and since using it he’s been absolutely spot on in his big boy bed. We’ve bought 2 but now only need one as the bed is pushed up to the wall, so the spare is going to my mums for his big boy bed there.

My nanna has Dementia and falls out the bed all the time. This has stopped her. Its great for her kingsize bed. Very long so is quite tricky to fold down as you have to have very long arms

The only iffy thing is that the clips to fold it down are so far apart that I can just reach if I squat. You can’t do one and then the other, both have to be done at the same time as you pull it down. It’s making me do squats so I guess it’s not completely a bad thing hahaha, other than that it’s great.
Will see how great it is when my little one starts walking

Great bed rail very sturdy not had a problem with it seems to be very safe. Did secure it to the bed with cable ties as its a metal frame and can be slightly slippery so for extra security secured it with those. I think it would of held its own without tho. Very pleased

Arrived on time with decent amount of padding/packaging. I bought one rail to try out and since it was so good I bought another one. It’s great when you have kids on free standing beds. Both the railings held the kids weight on it without slipping off. My mattress is heavy so there is that. I found this very helpful so it’s been a 5 star buy even at the price. Since it’s long it really protects well. The only slight issue is if you don’t have long arm span folding it up after use can be slightly tricky if done alone.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI couldn’t ask for anything more.

First of all good delivery service earlier than expected which is good.

Secondly, when opened my package it was already assembled.

Thirdly – Bed rail size is 150cm and my bed is 200cm approx. All you have to do is open the bar and clicks. Then place it under your mattress. That’s all.

Oh, one more thing because my bed has a boundary rise thing to keep matters secure so, therefore, the bed rail is not going to anywhere. But I understand why people are saying that it’s not secure.

    I’m extremely happy about this.

I purchased two of these bedrails to transition my 2 year old from cotbed to double bed. I was very nervous about her climbing out of the bed and injuring herself. As these rails almost went the length of the bed it’s almost as though she assumed that the end was just a larger version of her cot. She has not once fallen from the cot and doesn’t try to climb the rail. Happy Mommy here!

This is a product that I would 100% recommend to anyone. It’s long length is genius. It looks good and does the job. Needed it when I was co-sleeping with my second and gave peace of mind. It looks good to. I attached it to my standard double bed and it almost covered the entire length. I was surprised at how it held out when I caught my kids hanging off it or kicking it. I will be keeping it just in case. But it’s well worth the money and would purchase another in a heart beat.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI was after a bed guard for my double bed as baby sleeps with me. This is the longest bed guard I could find and thought it was very reasonably priced. I have a deep spring mattress and initially thought it didn’t fit but we forced it in a bit and it’s perfect. For us there’s no gap between the mattress and bed guard so safe for baby and on the other side currently have the co-sleeper cot shr, ironically, never sleeps in. The bed guard is still quite high up in our bed which I love as it’ll last even when baby is crawling. Ok, I have to slide down to the bottom to get out but hardly an issue and I have suffered horrible back pain so think most people would manage.
