    Salter Kitchen Scales
I am very pleased with the Salter scales however when getting the scales ready for use it was virtually impossible to pull the plastic tab off to holding the battery – it was necessary to use an extremely small screw driver to release the plastic tab .

    Very sensitive
Incredibly light – the controls are touch sensitive and I have to check each time that they are off. A little too sensitive to touch really but otherwise ok. Used daily for weighing out dog food.

    Great scales.
These were very cheap but the quality we have found so far to be of a really high standard. The scales are accurate and should last a long time if we don’t drop them. Very pleased with our purchase surpassed our expectations.

There is nothing to dislike. Looks great, easy to clean and appears to be accurate.

    NOT FULLY TRIED
This glass electric scale is very elegant looking, an attractive item to have in the kitchen and it is easy to read and to switch from grams to ounces. Important also that you can zero it with a bowl on and very useful that you can add liquids.
I am sure it is accurate, although cannot fully judge it yet as I have hardly used it. This is why I cannot give a 5 star rating. I bought it because it is essential to have scales even if not used much. “Easy to use” only gets 3 stars from me because of having to fiddle around with a screwdriver to put the battery in. However, I expect it will rarely need a battery replacement so it is not a major issue.

I am expecting this to be as reliable as my old scales which have lasted for years. Easy to use as you can put anything on it, then zeros it to add other ingredients and easy to read.

    Excellent kitchen scale
Bought as a replacement for scales which had a broken foot causing inaccuracies in weighing. It works well, good size to fit in a drawer, and has the advantage of weighing in both grams, ounces, fl oz and mls. Easy to wipe clean.

USER ERROR - CHECK BATTERY FOR STICKER!!!
Thought my new scales were faulty like other reviewers had commented. After a few weeks scales showed random values so I replaced battery and they were working well again. Skip a couple of weeks same problem so changed battery again but scales would not turn on then realised the Duracell batteries i was using had a sticky label on (new one on me-didn’t register at time) and now they are working perfectly. II actually previously bought these scales for my daughter and as she was so pleased with hers decided to replace my old needle style with the same ones. Have always bought Salter and my kitchen timer for baking is invaluable as is my cooker thermometer. My new cooker doesn’t heat to the temperature it shows, it annoyingly runs around fifteen degrees out which makes a big difference with baking.

    Bang on!
Firs time I’ve bought scales like this as in my new home I dont have room for the larger ones. These work perfectly fine and are easy to get to grips with. Instructions are clear. No fuss, bang on!

Miles better than the old sprung, mechanical type.
The feature to add ingredients makes this so easy to use. First you put it flat on the worktop and put any bowl on it. Then switch on. It starts in grammes, but you can tap the unit button gently to change to Lbs and oz. The digital readout is right on the front so it is easy to see. If you already had it switched on before you placed the bowl on there, no problem, just tap the on/off button gently and a second later it zeros again, ignoring the weight of your bowl and beginning from zero. If you are making a cake, for example, put the castor sugar in until the scales show the right quantity – 225 grammes in our case. Here is the clever bit. Tap the on/off button again, and the scales reset to zero, ignoring the bowl AND the caster sugar already there. Now add the flour, again, to our recipie, 225 grammes. For the butter, again, tap the on/off switch gently, and it zeros again! now add your quantity of butter – and now you have your ingredients accurately weighed and all in one bowl. The Mixing bowl – so you don’t have to clean a weighing scales bowl anymore.

The unit is the size of a magazine, and the top surface is glass and very easy to clean. The neutral grey sparkle finish looks cool, and it stores in a bookshelf taking up half an inch or less.

It switches off by holding the on/off switch for a few seconds, but if you forget, it powers off in about a minute anyway.

So much better than the old style scales with a bowl – love it, hope it lasts, great value at twenty quid.

    Fantastic scales ⚖
This is a great addition to any kitchen. It’s slimline and light, making it easy to store move around. It also looks nice, so if you have space would look great being left on the worktop or an open shelf. It has a glass platform, so is simple to wiipe down after use. Needless to say, do not immerse it in water!

It gives consistent and accurate results, and can be used interchangeably with both metric and imperial units, even within the same recipe. Because it’s digital it is clear and easy to read. You can use it to measure both solids and liquids, both as weights or volumes, up to a maximum of . You can use it to weigh and add into the same bowl, meaning less mess to clear up afterwards.

It is made in the UK and takes a round CR2032 battery. Not as convenient as an AA or AAA battery, but smaller and definitely lighter in weight.

    Dimensions are incorrec
I love the look of the scales, but was disappointed that it is not 18cmx25cm, 18cm X 23cm. As I was replacing my smaller Salter scales because I wanted something bigger, this is not ideal!

Competent and attractive scale let down somewhat by its buttons
This attractive scale is easy to clean and adds a a bit of glitter to your countertop. The smooth top surface is easy to wipe clean, and it’s big enough for even the larger mixing bowls I have. Accuracy seems good based on the items I’ve added so far.

As usual, it’s a competent scale from Salter. The one thing I’d mark it down on is usability. The zero and unit buttons are hidden under the front lip of the scale, and they aren’t very tactile, so it can be a bit too easy to either miss a button press or press twice. I preferred the clicky buttons on my previous Salter, though it’s possible these make the device easier to clean. I always prefer tactility when it comes to buttons, hence the removal of a star for usability.

    Lightweight and easy to clean.
A very lightweight model which is neat and attractive looking.
First of all, it’s small and easy to store….I prop mine up against the back tiles on my work surface because I use them every day.
I love the pale grey, sparkly finish.
The design is clever and touch sensitive….very touch sensitive….just under the rim at the front of the scales. That way, it can’t be disturbed on the top. A mere brush of your finger returns it to zero. The weight symbols are pretty small, the only negative I can find really.
The biggest plus is the easy cleaning….no rims or grooves to attract dirt or food stuffs.
    Love it!

Basic scales, the liquid function is not useful
Well pretty much all of these flat type scales are much of a muchness, this one is good in that it’s completely flat so no bits to interfere with whatever you’re weighing. Great also for non food uses like mail or uh…hamsters?
    No bowl provided.
The liquid function, why do they bother, I mean it basically is working on the premise that everything weighs 1kg per 1l as if it’s water (I assume) but milk is significantly lighter than that and so are other liquids. Which is why we use volume for liquid..so yeah, don’t bother with that.
Overall a perfectly functional scale. The battery by the way is a CR2032.

    A bit too sparkly
Potentially, a very good and useful set of electronic scales. However, the glitter is a little over the top, making it difficult to see the positions of the buttons (two sensitive pads on the front edge – changing the unit of measure and resetting to zero) under bright light. Daylight generally isn’t a problem but when the kitchen lights are on the reflection is quite pronounced.
It requires one CR2032 battery, which is supplied. Removing the tag that stops the (already inserted) battery from working was an effort, having to remove the battery first.
It is a very good set of scales, it’s just the finish on the surface that I have an issue with. Personally I would get a ‘plainer’ set of scales from the same manufacturer.

If you need a light, easy to use and easy to clean set of kitchen scales then look no furthe
I received these kitchen scales to do a review and did not pay for them or have been paid to review them.
I currently have a set of Salter 1089 BKWHDR scales which have been really great but it has a raised weighing platform under which bits of sugar, flour etc. can get under and which is really difficult to remove.

    * Salter say the scales measure 18.4 x 22.4 x 1.6cm, but the one I received measured 18 x 22 x 2cm which is a little smaller and taller but not enough to make any real difference.
    * The top is glass which is easy to clean and there is no place for food to get under.
    * The display panel is large and easy to read.
    * The On/Off and Unit buttons are really well designed so they respond to a finger covering them but not a closed door or a box in front of them. This should mean that the scales should not switch on unintentionally and the battery should last a long while.
    * It can measure in gms/ozs/ and liquids in fl.oz. or ml. which allows for measuring multiple ingredients in the same bowl.
    * It can weigh up to 5kg/11lb/5000ml/176 fl.oz.
    * You can weigh directly on the platform or weigh with your own mixing bowl or container.
    * It comes with 1 x CR2032 battery.
    * It comes with a 15 Year Guarantee!
    * The ‘silvery’ look on the top is quite pleasing and should fit in with most kitchen styles.
    * My model had little grey buttons on the feet which helped to hold the scales in place and stop it moving about the worktop.
    * I’m storing it on its side in a cupboard to take up less room and although longer and wider than my original scales, they take up less room as they are less tall.

I tested the Salter Silver Glitter Digital Kitchen Scales against my original scales and the new scales gave identical readings to the original scales using different objects and bowls/cups etc. with and without water so I am certain it reads accurately.

The Silver Glitter Scales weighs 376gms compared to 266gms for my original scales but given that the Silver Glitter Scales are about half as big again and the measuring plate is nearly twice as big, I felt this was completely acceptable. It also means I can get my large mixing bowl onto it which I can’t with my old scales.

In use, I found the buttons much easier to use than on my old scales and could add something in gms, then switch to imperial much more easily.

I have found them to be a real pleasure to use so far and have no doubt they will prove to be as reliable as any other Salter scales.

I’ll update this review in a few months after more use.

If you need a light, easy to use and easy to clean set of kitchen scales, then I have no hesitation in recommending the Silver Glitter Digital Kitchen Scales (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07Q4D43F2).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHigh quality as expected from Salte
Salter is a brand I am loyal to for scales. They seem second to none. And this kitchen scale is no different.
They work just as I would expect with absolutely no issues.
The digital reading is large and clear. The size of the scales and display is large enough to hold a large mixing bowl whilst still being able to read the display.
The buttons are located at the bottom and are touch sensitive. They are only tricky to use if your fingers are covered in cake mix or batter.
The glitter effect is good quality.
I love how easy it is to swap between a weight in grams and then to fl oz or ml. As shown in my video.
It takes 1 3v cr2032 battery which is under a drawdown slide which will require a very small screwdriver.
All four corners have rubberised feet.
It can manage up to 5kg.
The instruction booklet is easy to read however it has no diagrams. Despite this, the scale is pretty self explanatory to operate.
It comes with a very impressive 15 year guarantee.

    Accurate and Glittery
I love all of the functions available on this kitchen scale . You can measure liquids with its aquatronic function ( that’s just a posh way of saying it weighs liquid ).

It has a really easy to read LCD display which tells you the weights .

When measuring you place the receptical on the scale first and zero the function , this way you’ll get accurate measurements of your dry and liquid items .

The scale is made from glass and has 4 feet to keep it steady . The LCD display is situated on the front of the scale .

I love the functions of this scale and its size ,however I’m not keen on the glitter glass . I prefer stainless steel or black , but that’s personal choice .

If you need a decent accurate set of scales and like glitter then these Salter Scales are a Winner .
